Long ago I developed muscle memory to type in the main part of a website domain and complete it with Ctrl-Enter in the address bar.

That supposedly adds the www. prefix at the beginning and .com at the end.

Works great except that it seems to append "http:// to the beginning. That often results in a warning that I'm trying to go to an insecure domain.

How can I modify this behavior to append "httpS://" to the beginning to avoid all of these warnings?

I have about 30 user/password accounts logged when I use my Firefox account on Windows PCs but here on my new Apple Mac tablet, I do NOT see/get any of those accounts. Is there something I need to do to enable this to work?

Hello, recently I switched to this browser from another browser for some specific reason and I noticed that dropdown menu is way too big compared to my previous browser. Is there any way to fix it and make it more compact? To better explain you what I mean, see those screenshots: First screenshot is on Firefox, second screenshot with exact webpage is on Vivaldi browser. You can see vast difference how compact is Vivaldi dropdown menu compared to Firefox.

Restore gadget screen width to default 1/3 of screen, not 1/2. Gadgets are now too wide for easy reading, they were always 1/3 of the screen until recently. Did I inadvertently make that change, or was it part of some update?

This issue is happening with every newly installed add-on, but not with add-ons installed on or before Aug 3, 2024. The add-ons are installed via addons.mozilla.org. To rule out the possibility that it's happening only with specific add-ons, I also installed one of the random recommendations on that page, Augmented Steam which has 54,248 users, and it happens with that one as well.

I'll click Enable, but the prompt appears every time I restart Firefox.

What I've tried (with a restart after each attempt):

• Clear the startup cache
• Delete extensions.json
• Delete compatibility.ini
• Via about:config deleted extensions.databaseSchema and extensions.getAddons.databaseSchema
• Excluded Add-ons from syncing

I've noticed the following in extensions.json for each of the recent add-ons after restart:

• syncGUID changes to presumably random new value
• active changes from true to false
• userDisabled changes from false to true
• seen changes from true to false

bold textdownloading only produces " .part " files in my downloads directory. I had previously attempted a large file download but error message said it was not completed. Now cannot download anything

I put in a web address and password for a bank and hit enter - it doesn't go through and comes back to the log-in page It was working. I don't know what happened

I mistakenly dragged a text from a search box and dropped it on my browser page. If this text is a url (Ex: www.some_site.com), Firefox will navigate to that page. How do I prevent Firefox from opening dropped links on pages?

For some reason no matter how hard I try I am unable to change the display language of my Firefox account. Not my browser, my specific Firefox account.

When I hover over tabs, Firefox also displays a text below. So, for example, if I hover over the tab for Google Calendar, a text below shows 'Google Calender - August 2024'. Can I disable the text somehow?

I get the following error when I try to log in to Bitwarden with windows hello: Browser integration is not set up in the Bitwarden desktop application. Please set it up in the settings within the desktop application.

A few days ago, on Firefox (been using for many years) middle clicking on a YouTube thumb nail video results in an "Video unavailable This content isn’t available" message. Must left click and and can only have one tab open at a time. Even when my wife emails me a link to see something on You Tube it will not open that video. This is very annoying involving copy and pasting and back tracking.

Searching for a solution, I can deselect video previews in YouTube settings (which I don't need anyway), however this only works in Chrome not in Firefox which is my preferred browser.

Maybe this can be corrected in either a Firefox or YouTube update.
