Help! I believe that repeated unsuccessful attempts to compact my overly large inbox folder have resulted in all of the available space on my hard drive being taken up by incomplete temporary MBOX files. I want to know how I can get these temporary files out of the way. Thunderbird 115.5.0, 64-bit, Windows 11.

Background: My inbox is admittedly way too large, but in the past I have compacted it regularly without problems. Recently, after deleting many messages, moving some other messages to other mail folders, and emptying the trash, I tried to compact all folders (apparently including folders for another email account), as Thunderbird suggested. That apparently failed. Then, after deleting more messages, emptying the trash, and emptying my Recycle Bin, I tried to compact just the inbox. After working for a while, Thunderbird gave me a message that compaction had failed due to lack of space on the hard drive. Indeed, the hard drive had only a couple hundred MB remaining! I cleared out a lot of files and freed up several gigabytes of storage on the hard drive, then tried again to compact the folder, only to get another failure message after Thunderbird had been working for a while. I removed still more content and gained about twice as much storage as I had had before the previous try, then tried to compact again, and got the same result after a much longer period of compacting effort by Thunderbird.

There are 32 shortcuts on my home screen - 4 rows of 8 each. However, I accidentally "dismissed" one shortcut - now there are 31 total. I cannot figure out how to restore a shortcut. Is the solution in about:config (browser.newtabpage.pinned)?

I just noticed after an update today that the Mobile menu entry (with bookmarks from my mobile Firefox instances) no longer appears in the browser's Bookmarks menu. I can access them from the bookmark manager, but this change seems extraordinarily stupid and arbitrary and is a definite step backwards.

For the past few days when I have tried to log into a few websites which use TLS/SSL I have gotten PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR. Please see the attached screenshot for more details. This issue was observed ever since I updated to Firefox version 124.x. Prior to that the websites were working fine.

When I try to access the same websites and try to log into them using Microsoft Edge, I do not face a similar issue. They work fine.

I have cleared the browser cache, restarted firefox, and then tried. Still faced the same issue. I have cleared the DNS cache of Firefox browser (about:networking#dns) and then tried. Still faced the same issue. I have opened Firefox in Safe mode (Menu > Help > Troubleshooting mode) and still faced the same issue.

Can someone please help me in fixing the issue? I would like to refrain from using MS Edge or chrome browser.

I'm getting a message the following message each time I try to send an email:

"Sending of the message Failed.

Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.googlemail.com. Please check the password and verify the "Authentication method" in Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'.

Under SMTP Server I see the following: Description:Google Mail Server Name: smtp.googlemail.com Port: 465 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2

I have Hulu live tv streaming and the video is not streaming. I get a black screen when I select a channel or an item from the library. This also happens when I try to stream local tv stations' 24 hr streaming sites. Other streaming services (Disney+, ESPN+, Netflix... etc) stream just fine. Hulu works perfectly in Microsoft Edge but I truly prefer not to use it. I've been using Firefox for years. This has happened after the latest update of Firefox. The update before this latest I experienced a similar problem and using the trouble shoot mode narrowed it down to a problem with Adblocker Ultimate extension. I deleted the extension and reinstalled it and the problem corrected. I did the same this time and no success. I have cleared the cache and reset Firefox and still the problem exists. TIAF any help.

After 129.0 update, Hulu streaming quit working. I have other streaming services that still work fine. I tried it on older version of Firefox 115.14.0esr (64bit) (old pc Win 8.1) and it works fine there. Can I go back to an older version of Firefox or is this a known issue with update?

This is the issue, Hulu website loads and allows you to log in. When you try to stream a show, it plays a commercial then freezes.

Why do duplicate sub-folders appear in Thunderbird? In my personal folder I now have Sent and Sent Messages, bothe 'special' folders which can't be deleted. I have a similar situation in an folder for another email address (Sent + Sent Messages) AND in my Gmail folder, where not only are there 'Sent' & 'Sent Mail' folder but also two 'Drafts' folders as well as a 'Junk' folder and a 'Spam' folder. Each duplicate sub-folder contains slightly different messages and none can be deleted. See the attached image with the duplicates indicated.

What's going on and how can I resolve it to rationalize/simplify the structure?

Hello. I am not familiar with this end to end encryption that Facebook now does for Messenger but now when I try to use Video Calling/Chat it tells me it is not supported by my browser, Firefox. I have never had any problems with it before. Is there a fix? Thanks

I am running thunderbird version 128.1.0 esr 64 bit. Right now thunderbird opens the email links to google chrome. How do I change thunderbird to open to Microsoft Edge browser?

Since the most recent upgrade automatically pushed to my Ubuntu-like release of Linux, the menu bar of message composition is effectively invisible. If I hover over the bar I can faintly see the selections as white-on-pale-grey. I have not found where in settings to revert whatever was changed. It makes it hard to Send my messages!
