All of my folders are gone in my email. I have had 6 agents from Geek squad and 2 from Microsoft support try to find the issue with no success. You ask for donations, yet you don't have a phone number to speak to someone with these serious issues. I need someone to call me with resolution ASAP as this has been going on ALL Week and I need to reach my clients.

I recently updated to Thunderbird 128.1.1esr (64-bit). I also deleted my long standing MSN email and re-added it to get the new authentication. Now I can't rename local folders. I also can't delete local folders. When I move a message into a local folder, it disappears from where ever it was and briefly appears in the new folder. After a short period of time, it disappears from the new folder also. Any suggestions?

Every time I open Thunderbird, I get the message: "filesystem notification initialization error". I'm on a personal computer (no administrator). How do I fix this?

from membership in several mailing lists, I receive eMails in duplicate (where "duplicate" means identical in sender, date/time, subject and contents) in my inbox.

Is there any way to select (and delete) such duplicates?

When I first downloaded Thunder bird I gave a donation. Since then I have had to reinstall my Windows 10. When I downloaded Thunder bird again I am been asked for a second donation. I would appreciate it if you could stop asking for a donation again. George

i added my professional mails through imap to thunderbird. They work fine but 25 minutes after the new mail lands in my inbox, it autodeletes the message and i can t find it no more..(not in archive, or recently deleted).. I already reached out to my host but he told me I probably had to change some settings in the app.. i tried to but it still autodeletes them and i can t find them. What can I do?

Hello, the following has happened: I have a POP3 account with IONOS, which I operate with Thunderbird. Last week I installed a new virus scanner from Bitdefender. After a complete scan, Thunderbird still has all the mails in my inbox that arrived before the scan, but only the headers are still visible. The contents of the mails are no longer visible. Thunderbird has no authorization to Bitdefender “Allow antivirus software to quarantine incoming messages” The inbox has been recreated after the virus scan. Bitdefender has not issued a message about mails or inbox after the scan. Is there an archive for old inboxes somewhere? best reguards, Martin

Since downloading a replacement for my Thunderbird that was missbehaving, I lost all my emails and folders. I have been trying to recover using saved profiles, but none of them are helping. A few show new profiles created after my reload that do not contain the old data. A few are profiles from 2019 that only contain data up to that year and have out of date folder construction. I need a profile that covers my emails and folders just prior to my reload but I don't know how to find it.

I notice that Firefox lists a slew of profiles up to the current date, but I don't think these are usable for recovering Thunderbird. Does such an extensive list exist for Thunderbird?

As of 2024-8-29, my calendar had a number of entries.

When I logged back in this morning 2024-8-30, all entries were missing.

Before shutting down for the day I usually do a partial back up of files. Could someone provide the path and file name for calendar events?

Keep getting this message

sending username did not suceed. the server pop.iomartcloud.com responded; mate;the command must be one of CAPA,USER,PASS or QUIT.

This has happened on three accounts. The settings are exactly the same on the machine next to it which is running thunderbird OK on WIN 10. The new machine is running sonoma 14.6.1 Back to Apple mail me thinks.

I use Thunderbird on Windows (now 11) for 16 years now. Currently I have Thunderbird version 128.1.1. I would like to share profile between Windows and Linux (Ubuntu 24.04) installations on same machine. Profile folder is in a ntfs partition accessible both from Ubuntu (automatically mounted) and Windows. I managed to edit profile.ini file to point to right profile folder. On Windows evenrything workes fine. When I try to open Thunderbird in Ubuntu I get empty folder list and no account information in configuration. In the profile folder there ale many files created with names ending with corrupted are created (like folderTree.json.XXX.corrupt). Another try to open Thunderbird ends with message that profile is already in use. Any advice? Maybe I should debug starting Thunderbird (if yes let me know how to do that).

Since August 15, 2024, I have not been receiving emails on Thunderbird. I get a message saying the account is being processed and I must wait until the processing is complete before receiving messages. But it never is completed.

I am receiving emails from Thunderbird on my I-phone, but not on my computer.

Any ideas?

The folders and address lists exist in .thunderbird/5sdfwbvt.default /Mail/Local Folders

and in  .thunderbird/5sdfwbvt.default/storage/abook/mab  and abook/sqlite

How can I get thunderbird to access these resources??

I recently went away for a few days and shut down my pc. On my return I have had to recreate a new account through Thunderbird. Having done that I now find that I have lost all my local folders in my email. These are folders containing a history of emails received that I've needed to retain. I would like to get these back but don't know how to and cannot see any way of doing so.

When I create a new event I have to watch as the calendar it wants to save to in "Contacts" not my Google calendar. I have to select my Google calendar. Contacts calendar does not show up when I create a new event directly in Google calendar. I can turn off the Contacts calendar but I like that is shows my contacts birthdays. Is there a way to make my Google calendar default?

All of a sudden I cannot access yahoo mail via Thunderbird. I keep getting prompted for my email id and password, but that doesn't help.

This started August 28, 2024. OAuth2 has been enabled forever.

On the Yahoo help page, there is mention of an "app password" for third-party access. https://help.yahoo.com/kb/account/learn-generate-password-sln15241.html

Has anybody done this? What exactly does it mean? Do I substitute this generated password in the Thunderbird account settings for my real password?
