I have a new desktop. I checked the box in Settings to "Always ask you where to save files." However, it's still dumping files in Downloads without asking.

Why, and how do we correct that?

I am trying to change the setting for default apps and it is grayed out (can't change it). This is the only app that I can't change and I want to know why. Redmi note 8 pro, android 11. (Sorry if this is not the right place or it has been asked before, it is my first time needing support)

I would like Firefox to save my usernames for sites, but not the passwords. However, Firefox insists that I supply a password before it will save the account details, and if I supply a dummy password, then it will not let me later edit the account and delete the password. I like to remember my own passwords rather than store them anywhere.

I have tried password managers and they are overbearingly controlling, particularly given that they don't store my passwords let alone my 2FA details, so I'd rather just use Firefox's less onerous, built-in system, if only it would allow me to save an account without a password. Surely saving a username without a password is a safe option, so why block it?

Hello. How do I do if I want Firefox to open a new window every time I click on the icon? I tried to insert the command "-new-window URL", which used to work before but it doesn´t anymore. Is there anybody out there who knows something about this?

There one thing that currently a joke and useless, themes. Currently Firefox themes are just a single image and that it. I don't use it because I want more then a single image. There one web browser that does themes better then Firefox. SeaMonkey, that also own by Mozilla, has a way better themes then Firefox. This option should be added to Firefox to make Firefox better then it is. SeaMonkey has the best themes of all the web browser including Edge and Chrome. These themes are useless that are available in Firefox, Edge, and Chrome are a joke. The themes in SeaMonkey are the best. Besides the image in themes and the color of the toolbar, black or white only, nothing changes.

hi, i have a problem with "open previous page and tabs" because that don't work, i have a macbook and when i close firefox and reopen it, i lose every tabs previously open, how can i fix the problem ?

HI, When watching twitch for e.g. and i open a new tab to say search google after a minute or so the audio stops in twitch, how can i make it so the audio/video keeps playing when im open a new tab. Thanks

I need help with print. type settings on Firefox. When I print labels, the orientation is not right, and there are a couple of other things not working properly with printing. I have the Dutch and English dictionary installed and both show up in the context menu. But at random, only the Dutch dictionary is checked and the English one not. The Spellchecker then only uses the Dutch and I have to manually enable English again. This is really at random. For example on YouTube: I write a comment and English is checked. But another time on YouTube, English suddenly is not checked and have to enable it again in the context menu. So not a huge deal but still remarkable.

I have the "Always ask you where to save files" check box checked in settings, but it still just automatically saves everything to my downloads folder and I keep having to then cut and paste the file where I want it. I also have "Ask whether to open or save files" checked. Any idea how to fix this, so it will ask me where to save downloads?

Hi, Could you add a simple feature for autoscrolling pdf files in the built-in viewer ? It would be a great help when playing sheet music, etc.

Just: start/stop (with hotkeys) and scroll speed setting. It exists for chrome: Tab Scroller - Guitar Tab Auto Scroll, but I would prefer to use firefox of course.

 An update or two (maybe more?) ago, the plus sign with which we add shortcuts to the Firefox browser home page/new tab page disappeared, so now we can no longer add shortcuts on the home page/new tab page.  Please help.  I am running Firefox Version 129.0.2 (64-bit) on a Windows 11 Pro 64-bit if that makes any difference.  Thanks.

Hi Why is it everytime I download something it has to open in the Firefox browser to view? And why is this happening when I scan to my computer? I want things saved to my computer, like documents and scanned information?

Long ago I developed muscle memory to type in the main part of a website domain and complete it with Ctrl-Enter in the address bar.

That supposedly adds the www. prefix at the beginning and .com at the end.

Works great except that it seems to append "http:// to the beginning. That often results in a warning that I'm trying to go to an insecure domain.

How can I modify this behavior to append "httpS://" to the beginning to avoid all of these warnings?

I mistakenly dragged a text from a search box and dropped it on my browser page. If this text is a url (Ex: www.some_site.com), Firefox will navigate to that page. How do I prevent Firefox from opening dropped links on pages?

When I click the search bar a few shortcuts show up. Great. There are currently 4 or 5 and are sites I regularly go so it's nice. Youtube, Twitch, a couple sites I use for forums, and then there's THE PORN. Right... So I'm trying to remove that specific search bar suggestion. The others can stay, but I don't want THE PORN SITE show up by simply clicking the search bar. I've tried looking for answers but nothing talking about this exactly, only other similar topics. I know I can go into the Search menu in Settings and uncheck the Shortcuts option, but that removes them all. I'd like to continue to use it for the other sites. There's never been a way that I can see to CHOOSE which sites end up there, that would be the easiest.

I'm very satisfied with the Containers. It separates my personal life from my office life.

But when the browser launches, the default page is container-less. I have to open another tab with a specific container to start browsing.

It would be best if the browser lets a user set a default Container per browser: - I'd like to set 'Work' Container as a default for my office PC - I'd like to set 'Privare' Container as a default for my personal PC
