Hello! I have a serious problem. I lost access to my data because I changed my password, so my data is no longer synchronized. I reinstalled my Windows, and I forgot the old password I had on that Windows. As I reinstalled, I decided to change the password because I didn't remember it, but after that I found out that synchronization doesn't work. Please help me, I had very important bookmarks that were there. Thanks in advance!

ファイアフォックス内の仕様かもしれませんが Twitter等で画像をPC内の保存してるフォルダーから貼りつける時に、メディアを押すと ファイルのアップロードが開くんですけど その際に、ダウンロードやピクチャーなどの 表示が、 (すべてのサポートされた種類)に 初めから固定されています。 (すべてのファイル)に変えてからじゃないと 表示されない画像などもあって すべてのサポートされた種類から すべてのファイルに変更しないといけない手間が かかってます。

直接PCからのエクスプローラを開いたら 全てのファイルにも出来ますが ファイアからなのか他のブラウザかTwitterでの 仕様なのかは調べてないですが もしファイアフォックス内で変更が 可能であれば教えて頂きたいです。 質問前にAIチャットで質疑応答してますが ファイアフォックス内の設定にダウンロードする際にすべてのファイルを選択肢があれば可能なども 言われましたが、そのような項目は見つからなかったです。後は、PC本体の設定から規定のアプリでのファイアフォックスのファイルの種類または規定リンクの種類を変えることも提案されましたが htmやavgfなどコード変えたりの そこまでの知識もなく弄るとPC自体おかしくなったら嫌なので出来ませんでした。

長くなりましたがよろしくお願いします。

I reset Windows yesterday to attempt to fix a problem with my computer. After redownloading Firefox and signing into a few basic things (including my Mozilla account), I realised all my logins were gone. I have followed the steps in [[this tutorial|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1310179]] but it didn't work - I think saving logins in this instance of Firefox overwrote the other logins file, as when I opened it, it only had the login info from what I logged into after I reset.

Looking at my connected services, it seems the instance of Firefox from before I reset is still open. I mention this just because it's possible that this would contribute to a solution.

Any help is greatly appreciated as I have a number of securely generated passwords and cannot access a good deal of my accounts.

Today i wanted to open one of those but i couldn’t find it since they are all in the inactive folder. The thing now is i can‘t get em back anymore because the sync folder was from the reseted profile. is there a possibility to get everything back?

Most Extensions and their Customizations gone on all devices due to Sync

Yesterday I set up a new computer, installed Firefox and logged in to my Firefox account. Everything went well, my bookmarks appears, all (!) my extensions were installed, everything looked fine. Then I went about my way configuring unrelated Linux stuff, using Firefox as normal on both computers, no problems.

But at some point, I suddenly noticed that on both computers, the icons for most of my extensions had disappeared. And sure enough, looking in about:addons, all that was left were five addons (Dark Reader, Simple Translate, uBlock Origin, Dictionary Anywhere, OneTab). And on both computers, including my main laptop (!), where I hadn't done anything other than clicking around in websites.

And it only affected the extensions, my bookmarks, history, etc all is fine and synced between the computers.

No restarting of Firefox, choosing different profiles in about:profiles (there was only one other, a mostly empty one), nothing got them back. And looking in ~/.mozilla/firefox/, sure enough extensions.json and all extension related folders had been changed, looking as if I never had more than these five extensions installed.

And when I installed one of my usual extensions again, all of it's settings and customizations were back to default. So this is not just a case of having to reinstall a few extensions. All custom uBlock filters, all Tampermonkey scripts, etc, everything is gone.

I tried looking around on the web for solutions, but it appears that there is no one who has had this exact issue before, and I couldn't find any indication that there is any way to revert such an error by Firefox Sync.

To my luck, I have a secondary laptop where I should have a mostly up-to-date instance of my Firefox profile, from which I will now try to recover my extension data, but if that weren't the case, years of fine-tuned settings and customizations would be gone.

As people rely on Firefox Sync to back up their Firefox data, instead of backing up their Firefox data "against" Firefox Sync failing like this, I'd think this is not something that ever should be possible to happen. At the very least, there should be some way to revert errors like this. Perhaps Firefox Sync could store backups either server side or client side before syncing deletions like this?

restore my passwords from pre-sync

Due to a recent major security breach I started changing all of my passwords on my main desktop, I did not have sync on at the time. I then opened up my work laptop (again unsynced) and decided I should really use the sync feature to transfer my 500+ passwords onto my laptop for when I travel.

When I got home that evening, I turned on the sync feature on my main desktop, unfortunately it pulled all of my compromised passwords from my laptop and overwrote the ones on my main desktop. Is there anyway to restore my pre-sync passwords and ensure that they get transferred to my laptop instead please.

Firefox was logged into my account and synced before migrating computer to Azure AD. After installing and logging into the fresh install of Firefox, there is no data associated with the account. It looks as though it was created today, even though I logged into the pre-existing account. I even have emails to this account from over a year ago.

Any way to recover?

No sign of them, and no firefox folder in applicationsupport/library on my Mac. Showing hidden files. About:profiles shows only one profile. No idea how I can restore things. Time Machine backup on desktop iMac has no firefox profile files. Where is the data please? Etc etc :O)

Firefox 126.0 on Sonoma 14.5 not saving passwords

After up grading to a Mac Studio running Os 14.5, I downloaded the latest Firefox 126.0. I have three other computers with Firefox. The oldest a Mac Pro running 10.13.6… (saznaj više)

After up grading to a Mac Studio running Os 14.5, I downloaded the latest Firefox 126.0. I have three other computers with Firefox. The oldest a Mac Pro running 10.13.6 Hi Sierra that works flawlessly. I tried sync and bookmarks came over to the Mac Studio but not any passwords. I tried importing via a .csv file and got the message: Import complete New passwords added: 0 Existing entries updated: 0 Duplicate entries found: 0 Errors 190 (not imported)

Firefox will NOT even save manually entered passwords. I suspect some problem with Sonoma's paranoid security but I cannot find a solution. Any suggestions?

Cannot wipe/reset addon data on server / sync all addons

I am trying to sync my addons to another computer. Apparently the addons I have on the primary computer are not synced to the server. The sync-log says "[addon] not synca… (saznaj više)

I am trying to sync my addons to another computer. Apparently the addons I have on the primary computer are not synced to the server. The sync-log says "[addon] not syncable: is foreign install." The About Sync addon shows that data for two addons are on the server, one of them About Sync, while I have a lot more on my primary computer. I may have synced the addons from the secondary computer first, so that might explain why the server knows only about two addons.

So I am trying to wipe the addon data from the server and sync the addons from my primary computer. I have signed out all but the primary computer from the Mozilla account. I have tried signing in and out of the Mozilla account and changing the password to wipe the server data, but that does not seem to work.

Wiping the addon data via About Sync > addons > Engine Actions > Wipe addons does not seem to work, either. After syncing About Sync shows that there are two addons on the server again.

What else can I try to wipe the addon data on the server or to sync my addons from the primary to the secondary computer?
