Is Firefox for Windows & MAC designed to uninstall old versions of standard, ESR, & Mozilla maintenance service apps? If so, then the assumption you have is that the install didn't execute properly, correct?

My Firefox updates automatically, often when I'm away from my computer. When I installed Firefox initially, I told it not to create a desktop shortcut, but apparently that note didn't get stored anywhere. Every time it updates, it creates a new desktop shortcut. Every time, I delete it. This is getting old.

I'm on a Windows 10 machine and my Firefox settings show that I've selected "Automatically install updates (recommended)" with the optional "When Firefox is not running" also selected. But I don't see anything that will prevent new desktop shortcuts from being created. How can I make it stop?

(And this is not a good answer.)

I have just installed the latest version of Firefox on my Windows laptop. I know am unable to log into my ebay account. I am asked to verify my identity, but get stuck on the page as it gives me no option to actually verify myself. See the attached screen shot

I can log in on Google Chrome, but don't want to.

Dear friends. I have bee using portable version of Thunderbird for years on my pendrive. I have a need of using it on Windows 10 32bit and Windows 64bit alternately. And I never had any problems. Thunderbird portable was first configured on Windows 10 32bit system and also used on the 64bit one. Last version of Thunderbird portable working fine on both machines was 115.13.0. But after several updates downloaded automatically my Thunderbird 64bit portable is no longer compatible with 32bit Windows. Message on 32bit system is: "You are trying tp use an older profile" or something like that. Fortunately I have a backup of my Thunderbird, I turned all updates off and still can use 115.13.0 on both 32 and 64 bit systems. But I know that I need to update Thunderbird regularly for security reasons. How can I resolve this problem? After any update in my 64bit OS Thunderbird is no longer operational on 32bit.

I am noticing this for months if not years. Automatic update never works, first it claims that FF restart is required to install the update but when invoked FF never restarts automatically. Alternatively if FF is closed without invoking restart subsequent manual launch never starts the browser. Only the second manual launch opens the browser window which takes a small portion of the upper left corner of the screen and there's no Maximize button - instead the button is Restore and upon clicking the small window moves beyond the upper right corner of the screen putting the maximize button out of reach. So I have to somehow grab the title bar and move it to the view so I can finally maximize the window - very annoying. Upon checking the FF version remains the same, no update occurred. Invoking another update results in endless notification Updating FF. At some point there's a notification that I have to update FF manually by downloading an installer etc. This goes on and on over and over. Could this mean my FF is hijacked?

When i do update my configuration settings changing by itself. Example, "browser.cache.disk.enable" is "false" but after every updates its always changing to "true". This happens only after updates.

Helping a friend who is using Firefox without having a Mozilla profile/account who is upgrading to a new PC. - Is there a way to export her passwords to a file and restore to the new PC? Going from Win 7 to Win 11. - Otherwise, can she just create a Mozilla account on her old PC and turn Sync on to transfer to the new PC? I am assuming all her settings will be retained. Thank you very much for your time:-)

This has been happening for months. I am unable to access my twitter/X account. I am also unable to share anything, as well.

The latest Thunderbird isn't being properly offered. Both

currently indicate 115.14.0 while the main Thunderbird site is offering 128.1.0esr

Used Thunderbird happily for many years to read my Gmail account but a couple of years ago I had to replace my laptop. Thunderbird stopped working, returning the profile missing or inaccessible error. I have used Web-based Gmail since, but I miss Thunderbird, which I still support! Just downloaded the latest version but it makes no difference. Is there a solution? I'm no whizz, but my husband could help, if instructions require more expertise than I have. Thanks!

I just installed updated to 115.14.0 for my OS 10.13.6. I had a very old version of Thunderbird 45... I went through the gmail sign on procedure and it looked like it was successful but I can't download or send any messages. I have verified incoming and outgoing server settings on Gmail. Any insight would be great!

When I try to download messages I get a message that it can't connect or that it times out. When I send messages: Sending of the message failed. "The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again."

incoming server settings: imap.gmail.com and I have tried pop.gmail.com (Profile currently shows Pop mail server but I have it set to imap.) SSL/TLS I have tried ports 993 and 995 Auth: OAuth2

Outgoing server settings: Smtp.gmail.com Port: 465 Auth: OAuth2
