After my Windows 10 laptop being in sleep mode I found my background picture changed and all my Firefox tabs missing (while my bookmarks, add-ons, history etc. saved, and all other apps functioning properly). Recently Closed Windows menu was inactive and using Restore option in Library had no effect (despite availability of recent saves).

I found out that Mozilla folder was just missing in %appdata% (e.g. Profile Folder in about:support leaded to a non-existent directory). No manual changes to Firefox settings/data were made and no new profiles created.

What might be the problem and are there any ways to restore my tabs?

Like others here and on the internet, the constantly-returning Firefox desktop shortcut is driving me crazy. I've finally just decided to uninstall Firefox and go with Chrome. Maybe in a year I'll check back and see if this bizarre problem is still plaguing Firefox.

I can go to the https://www.newsmax.com website and I keep getting "Secure Connection Failed" message. I can then to to the address bar, click on the "lock" emblem (that is not locked) and choose "remove site data and cookies" Once I do that, and click on "Try Again" the website works. If I choose a new link from Newsmax, and choose open link, that link has a ! point in the tab, and go there and get the same message. Once I remove cookies and data that site and it's links work .... for a while. Then it is back to that same message "Secure Connection Failed"

Any thoughts on how to correct this? This does not seem to be an issue in Waterfox or Pale Moon, 2 other browsers I also have.

Until today it worked fine. But now whenever I try to login to Xfinity I get You don't have permission to access "http://login.xfinity.com/login" on this server. It works fine on Chrome and Edge. I have disabled my add-ons. I have cleared cache, cookies, etc. I have rebooted. I have turned off firewall. I have checked my DNS. I have changed the DNS protection to OFF in Firefox. I have checked my proxy setting (I have no proxy). I have reinstalled Firefox. Etc. Etc. Nothing works. The fact that it works on Chrome and Edge, that it has worked everyday until today gets me confused. I also tried using my mobile phone as a hot spot to make sure it wasn't related to my Internet connection or IP address. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm new here so please bear with me if I've posted in the wrong place or have missed something obvious.

I running Windows 10, fully updated, on a laptop. I have been using Firefox browser now for many years, suits my needs and avoid's using Goolges Chrome. My Firefox was updated a in the last few days and it shows as up to date on Version 129.0.1 64bit.

I noticed late last night that when opening a fresh window and enter a search term in either the address bar or the Google search bar, my usual choice of search engine, I hit return and nothing happens. Any text I've input disappears totally. Not at all sure what's going on but have found that if I open a new private window Firefow will act as I'd expect without any issues.

I have two other browsers on my laptop, Edge and also Avast's own offering which both work as expected when I enter a search term. Have never experienced this before with the exception of years ago when malware protection wasn't great. It almost seems as though something is just stopping Firefox from searching anything I enter. I can use the bookmarks just fine and then everything works as usual.

Yesterday I thought that maybe following the new windows culmulative updates I was offered and apparently installed just fine, that I needed to restart which a tried and I thought it had cured the issue. Seems that it hasn't and still having the same issue.

Any idea's or thought's on what the cause of this is?

My account was fine all night and now I get an “inactive account” message when attempting to login.

I'm having problems with a website constantly asking me to accept cookie permissions. It happens on some other sites occasionally, but this particular site is one that I use each day.

When I visit the site I get the cookie permissions box. I click accept all cookies. No matter how many links I click I am presented with the box yet again. It doesn't happen with Chrome, Edge or Brave.

Hello, When I tried to use ChatGPT on Firefox, It showed only white blank page. I can't type or do anything to ChatGPT. But in Chrome it works fine. I tried to reset Firefox but still be the same. Does anyone know how to fix this? It happened yesterday.

Why can't I get to my e-mail or bank website on Firefox without jumping through a bunch of hoops? I don't have this problem on Chrome. Do I need to switch browsers?

I'm trying to use a security key for my Vanguard site. I've tried with Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Chrome. I can get to almost the end but get stopped-- I can't get no father to "connect and activate." I get a message saying--"Vanguard is requesting extended information about your security key which may affect your privacy. Firefox can anonymize this for you but the website might decline this key. If declined try again." I talked to Vanguard for help but they didn't know how to help. The key is uTrust FIDO2 NFC. USB-A NFC Certified Security Key. I believe the problem may be that this key will link all my accounts in Firefox ( and will also link if I use any other browser.)

Using an authenticator for one account is safe, but allowing a website to ask for extended information for multiple accounts using the same authenticator can permit that website to identify a link between those accounts. If you are concerned about having accounts linked together in this way, you should either deny extended information when prompted, or use different authenticators for the different accounts. This linkability is based on the authenticators, and not on your browser. If you use the same authenticator with different browsers, websites can still identify a link between multiple accounts. I use Mozilla Firefox for work. Part of my work requires I use the GlobalProtect VPN client. When I log on to the VPN, everything appears to be fine. The problem arises when I log out of the VPN client, such as needing to switch to a different VPN.

When I log out of the VPN client, Mozilla slows down massively. I get the following errors when trying to access websites.

PR_END_OF_FILE Timeout

I thought it was a DNS issue, but the change I made previously did not prove to be a reliable fix, and I do not actually know the root cause of what is happening. Firefox returns to normal ONLY after a full computer restart. At this point I am considering switching browsers as, despite Firefox's functionality, it is starting to interfere with my work.

I have used other VPNs, such as Fortigate VPN, and not encountered anything like this.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

I appreciated how easy it was to restore my bookmarks, but I also discovered another problem in the process. When I went to sort my bookmarks by name, it sorted but added in a gazillion bookmarks that had been deleted many years ago. I have no idea how or why this is happening. Again, I need help. This was, of course, what happened when I asked for help previously. Somehow the sorting (by Name) has been corrupted.

Firefox is labeling *.CSV downloads as "Firefox HTML Document."

I don't see *.CSV files in the "Applications" list for file handling.

The mime-type on the download is set server-side to "text/csv".
