Hello My friend is visually impared and is having great difficulty seeing to read emails. Is there any way to use Thunderbird to get the emails and then read them with text to speech to audio. Or can anyone think of another way. I will have to be simple too. Thanks.

Outlook.com and Microsoft inform me that in September 2024, Outlook 2007 will no longer work for email because it does not meet their spiffy new authentication thingy. They want me to quit using Windows 7, but I need it to run legacy productivity software for which there is nothing comparable. So, Windows 7 it is. I do have a dual boot system that includes Windows 10, but I don't want to mess with it for email if possible.

Microsoft suggested that Thunderbird would work, so I downloaded it. That's when everything went sideways. There is no utility to move my existing files and folders intact from Outlook 2007 to Thunderbird. I tried Thunderbird's Import but it refuses to cooperate. So, last chance for Thunderbird is contacting you.

Help me make a clean transition from Outlook 2007 to Thunderbird without losing contacts, folders and files.

On the top of the left side of the incoming email page, next to my email address, I would like the following alternatives to appear: answer, answer all, forward . . . I have had them before, have never had a problem with them, but I must have pressed the wrong key as now I get the following instead: an icon with a pin-up button, a phrase about filtering, and then five icons with an envelope, a star, a notebook . . . What do I need to do to recover the original layout?

While this note is probably the wrong way to ask for help for which I apologise, I am moving from Seamonkey to Firefox and Thunderbird. I have managed to get Firefox to work but don't know how to get my Seamonkey e-mail moved to Thunderbird.

If some kind soul could point me to a place or person where I can get detailed instructions on moving my e-mail from Seamonkey to Thunderbird, I would be incredibly appreciative. Again, I know I am probably asking this question in the wrong forum, but I have tried everything I can think of with no usable result. I ask that whoever reads understands getting up in years is frequently a difficult process. Oh yes, I go back to the early Netscape days as a user.

Thanks, in advance, for any and all assistance.

The email address that I have used ever since email began has been [edited] @qis.net. Unfortunately, the inbox storage space on Quantum Internet Service (QIS) is only 1GB. I use Thunderbird for emails (recommended by QIS). The account with QIS is an IMAP account.

Yesterday at 4:40pm my inbox became full even though I have moved a bunch of the emails with larger attachments to offline folders within Thunderbird. That's when the nightmare started. No incoming emails can get delivered at this time. Have been in contact with QIS (I personally know everyone there including the owners. They're good people) It seems that we do not have a way to get into the inbox and remove files from their server (s).

After working all night trying to sole this mess, I have set up a new email address to maintain a form of communications on a major engineering project.

The new email address for me should be changed to : [edited] @gmail.com

Please make this change at Firefox. When I try to login on Firefox, it sends a code to the old, non-usable email address. Since the inbox at QIS is full, I can't read it to get the code to respond. If the code can be sent SMS to my cell phone, that would be fine. [removed phone# from public support forum] is the number to use.

I hope all this makes some sense at your end. I am not a guru with this stuff and a very dear friend of mine who was an "IT guru", as I called him, has passed away about 1 year ago.

I appreciate any help you give.

Hello, I own and operate my own business in the automotive repair sector however my direct computer knowledge is not sufficient in many cases. My issue is that my Gmail and Thunderbird is linked to send messages to my clients for estimate purposes. Incoming mail to Gmail as well as outgoing from Gmail gets copied into Thunderbird. Assuming that Thunderbird had so many emails on the screen I asked the internet on how to do a mass email delete. Now I assume "that" is the reason why all my labels/folders are now empty I can both Gmail and Thunderbird? These folders held important invoices, contact information and just important information for me to go back into should a situation require it. How do I recover all of my deleted messages in Thunderbird? Will this repopulate the folders with my missing information?? The individual who set it up for me is an expert in the field however I am unable to make any contact with him. He's not responding to any of my messages or calls. Please help. Now please remember I am very ignorant when it comes to this type of experience. Please provide me with the most elementary explanations for this recovery process. Super lament terms and instructions are extremely appreciated. Thanks. Les

It is very difficult to monitor a very sick brother in another state when emails are not being delivered in a timely manner. Have spoken with Spectrum/Roadrunner and sent message directly from Spectrum's web email app per their troubleshooting hotline. No joy on the email deliver either via Spectrum or Thunderbird.

I remember when you could select a range of messages and delete the lot quickly. This is how I maintain my email. For a while now, and still, it takes a bit to sort messages, normally for me sort is by "Correspondent". Then when I select a range and hit delete, I may as well go do something else. Thunderbird goes unresponsive for the long duration. It is a major problem.

I am still using Win10 Pro, system disk is an SSD (1 TB) and the data disk is a normal HD (4 TB). 16 GB RAM, a Lenovo tower. It is not running out of memory, the drive isn't over utilized either. A 15 message delete is slow, try over 100 messages!

All other programs run fine, it is used in electronics design mostly. This issue popped up a while ago and I kept hoping it would be fixed. It hasn't yet. The OS is kept up to date, no other changes. I do compact folders regularly, so indexes should be optimized.
