The Inbox is not showing up but my Drafts is showing two emails in it, but I can not forward on do anything with them. I am on a updated Dell Studio laptop with Windows 10. I have had a lot of problems getting my email to work Optimum using suddenlink.net server. It is working well on my Mac Mini. I have been at this for two days trying to get it to work. Thanks for the work on this good software!

I have just migrated Thunderbird to my new CUBI desktop running Windows 11. I get security errors when I launch Thunderbird. My email provider The Messaging Company advised me to change server settings, which are now shown in the Troubleshooting Information page as account1 (pop3) pop.themessagingco.com.au:995 SSL/TLS Normal password smtp.themessagingco.com.au:587 STARTTLS Normal password true.

On launching Thunderbird I get the message Secure connection failed live.mozillamessaging.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate has expired. Error code: <a id="errorCode" title="SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_ISSUER_CERTIFICATE">SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_ISSUER_CERTIFICATE</a>

   This could be a problem with the server's configuration, or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.
   If you have connected to this server successfully in the past, the error may be temporary, and you can try again later.

Or you can add an exception…

AND when I attempt to send an email I get warning that the SMTP server does not have a valid certificate. If I ask, in either case, to "Get Certificate" the response is that the site attempts to identify itself with invalid information.

I have "tried again later" over two weeks, and nothing has changed.

The Messaging Company is a fairly large email provider: it seems strange that its security is incomplete. However, I am not happy to just set an exception and over-ride these errors without doing all I can to check that there is not something screwy going on. I really value using Thunderbird, and The Messaging Company's advice that I should just use webmail is not at all satisfactory: I keep everything on my computer or backed up to a portable drive here.

Please: is there anything I can do or should know to fix this problem?

I recently upgraded Thunderbird from v102 to v115. Since installing that upgrade, starting Thunderbird in my email inbox results in the inbox message list window showing a message received days ago at the bottom of the listing. The scrollbar is not all the way at the bottom. I can scroll down to the bottom of the list to see the last message received, but this should not be necessary, and this is a change from the way v112 worked.

If I close Thunderbird with a newsgroup or an inbox subfolder selected, then when I next open Thunderbird and select the inbox the listing goes all the way down to the last received message as it should.

How can I make this behavior the default when starting Thunderbird in the inbox? Thanks!

I'm trying to migrate from Fairpoint to Breezeline as my provider. I need two email accounts, one for work and one for personal. I got a new work account "sort of" working. I can send and receive email with it, but it doesn't react when I click on "Get messages." The second account I can't get to work at all. I copied the same server settings I used for the first account, obtained from the Breezeline website. They are:

Username: Name@breezeline.net

Incoming mail server: mail.breezeline.net IMAP port 993 Security type SSL

Outgoing mail server: mail.breezeline.net Port #465 Security type SSL

Authentication method: Normal password

I used the same password for both accounts.

When I tried to get messages or send on the second account, the message is "Login to server mail.breezeline.net failed."

I checked the Breezeline webmail site. It recognizes Account 1 but "cannot find" Account 2. According to the Breezeline website, I can have more than one account.

I want to be able to archive my emails in folders -- I have the disk space to do so. I am having trouble manually configuring an AOL email account (username@verizon.net). AOL's instructions say to manually configure the account. I tried to do that twice, once with IMAP and the other with POP.

Now, I have two email folders in Thunderbird that I cannot use. They are both empty because I get a message box that says "Login to server imap.aol.com with username@verizon.net failed." when I try to use them. When I use the same login credentials to login to the website mail.aol.com, they work.

I have to contact AOL as to why when I try to access the account with an email client (Thunderbird and Outlook) I'm getting password errors. In the meantime, how do I delete the two email folders created incorrectly in Thunderbird?

OAuth2 - Passwords not reliably saved.

Having followed the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/modern-authentication-methods-now-needed-to-continue-syncing-outlook-email-in-non-microsoft-email-apps-c5d65390-9676-4763-b41f-d7986499a90d to update the security settings on my outlook/hotmail email accounts Thunderbird no longer reliably saves/enters the passwords. The password is saved in settings as that is where I copy it from to enter manually but why is Thunderbird not doing the entry as previously. It is not every log in and not always the same account, but regularly one or the other will come up with "enter your credentials" Also occasionally the credentials screen will flash on screen and then disappear, not necessarily for the account I am using at the time but one of the others. I hope someone can help, I've changed all the settings in Thunderbird for my whole family's emails (hotmail.co.uk, hotmail.com, live.co.uk) from Normal Password to OAuth2. All incoming and outgoing servers are exactly the same as Microsoft advised. None of my accounts work, neither for sending or receiving.

I removed one account and tried to re-add it (that was the advice given if the first method didn't work) but when it tries to check the password, it takes forever. I've tried to manually configure it but it wouldn't download any folders or emails. I removed it and tried to re-add it but have been unable to do even that.

My default account hasn't been able to send more than 25% of emails for a few weeks. I'm up to date with all updates and I've restarted Thunderbird and my laptop countless times.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

However, some events do not generate that blue dot for its respective date(s). In my case, I have an event that spans multiple days (NOT an "All day Event"--it's from 3:00 p.m. on 11 July through 4:00 p.m. on 13 July), but there is no blue dot on those days on the mini-calendar. (See image attached.) Other events set up the same way do have the blue dots. Is there something about how events are set up that might not generate the blue dot?

If I try to alter my existing Thunderbird Account Settings for my Hotmail account, the authentication method for Outgoing Server (SMTP) is shown as Normal Password but there is no option to change it to OAuth2. If I delete and recreate my Hotmail account in Thunderbird, I get an error message from Microsoft saying that I cannot log in because my browser is not set to allow cookies -- even though I believe I have set both Thunderbird and Firefox (my default browser) to allow cookies.

I have been running Thunderbird for almost seven years now, and these behaviors have persisted since day one on my laptop and desktop computer. First, I have five accounts set up. I am running two add-ons (Provider for Google Calendar, and Quicktext). I am currently running a snap version 115.12.2 of Thunderbird on both machines and they both are running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Plenty of RAM and plenty of free disk space.

Here are the two issues...

1. More often than not, when an email comes into one of the inboxes and I am viewing the unified inbox there are two copies of the same email. If I switch back to the actual inbox of the account it only shows the one. This is very aggravating and when you start trying the delete emails from the unified inbox it gets all hosed up and I end up having to go to each individual mailbox to delete the messages.

2. This somewhat relates to issue one... Sometimes when an email is deleted from the unified inbox, a blank record remains like in the image. This shows only one but sometimes there are multiple ones. Of course, if I go to that message's inbox it is not there.

I have tried all the common things like deleting the index files to let the indexes rebuild, comparing folders etc., and again, this has been a persistent problem since day one. Any insight or solution would be greatly appreciated.
