I have been trying to remove "Your browser is being managed by your organisation" simply because the browser is on my home PC and not being managed by any organisation. However, I have an issue with registry editor as it does not have Mozilla or Firefox keys in "Policies" "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies" or "HKEY_CURRENT_USER". I would be grateful for any advice to overcome this issue as it annoyingly restricts access to web pages.

As the years go by I still love Firefox--its response speed and its many features. But it is getting to the point where almost every new order for a product I place with a new company fails because their website only works properly with Chrome. I'm not being negative here--this is my actual experience. And LastPass works better with Chrome than with Firefox, although I can't remember specifics at the moment.

I wonder if there is a specific reason for this general increase in problems, such as due to how I've customized my Firefox, or perhaps that Firefox is adhering too closely to browser standards, or something else. I don't even know if this vague but real problem is caused by me somehow, or is endemic to Firefox.

So, I'm posting this just in case someone else has encountered the same problems.

There is no particular error message to report. It's just that an increasing number of website forms are quietly failing to log me in, or to accept an order, or something similar. Just quiet failures that don't happen when I try the same thing in Chrome.

Important: I don't have ANY problems with Firefox with websites and apps that I myself have created. All Firefox languages--HTML, CSS, JavaScript--work perfectly for me.

I'd appreciate any feedback from others, as I really, really want to keep Firefox as my regular browser.

Typically I press super + some key combination to open various applications. Today, I forgot to press super and the first couple letters in "screenshot" are apparently more or less what you need to delete your firefox history.

Is this in any way recoverable? I've also used this firefox account on a windows partition, not sure if history is shared between linux and windows in this way though.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox 108.0 on popos 20.04

Please tell me if it is possible to cap the amount of ram assigned to ffox, as it creeps up and up till over 1.3 gigs is being used.

I am referring to having a single webpage open - no tabs and no extensions.

I have shut down the browser, and restarted the laptop but cannot cure this problem.

Inevitably this slows everything down, and the pc fan will run non stop.

Thanks for any help.

My passwords won't auto-fill. The selection for "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" is unchecked every time I restart Firefox.

I've tried everything. Re-installing, refreshing, removed all of my plug-ins, etc. I'm not in private mode either.

This is really disappointing. I don't want to switch to another browser.

Hello, in Firefox browser, my organization has always blocked all extensions except for ones we allow through OMA-URI ./Device/Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/Firefox~Policy~firefox~Extensions/ExtensionSettings.

About a month ago this stopped working and our end users can now install any extension in the Firefox browser that they choose, without approval, creating a security risk.

When checking in about:policies, there is a policy error: Unable to parse JSON for ExtensionSettings. We have checked with Microsoft Intune support and they verified that the policy looks to be configured and targeted correctly.

Here is a snippet of our JSON, this is a test policy where microsoft support had us remove "about:addons" from the 'install sources'. Both test and production policies are not working.

<enabled/>
<data id="ExtensionSettings" value='
{
    "*": {
        "blocked_install_message": "Contact Service Line",
        "install_sources": ["https://addons.mozilla.org/*"],
        "installation_mode": "blocked",
        "allowed_types": ["extension"]
    },
    "cloudmetering@snowsoftware.com": {
        "installation_mode": "force_installed",
        "install_url": "file:///C:/Program Files/Snow Software/Inventory/Agent/FFCloudmetering.xpi"
    },
    "fpdlpffext2@forcepoint.com": {
        "installation_mode": "force_installed",
        "install_url": "file:///C:/Program Files/Websense/Websense Endpoint/winFFext.xpi"
    },
    "jid1-5AULKXLKGyjuLQ@jetpack": {
        "installation_mode": "allowed"
    },
    "abb@amazon.com": {
        "installation_mode": "allowed"
    },
    "ciscowebexstart1@cisco.com": {
        "installation_mode": "allowed"
    },
    "linkedinConverted@firefox-extension": {
        "installation_mode": "allowed"
    },
    "{7bc53591-5218-45a0-b572-4366979097fd}": {
        "installation_mode": "allowed"
    },
    "queryamoid@kaply.com": {
        "installation_mode": "allowed"
    },
    "jid1-93WyvpgvxzGATw@jetpack": {
        "installation_mode": "allowed"
    },

Is this a bug? Or something wrong with our configuration? Has firefox changed the requirements of the extensionsettings OMA-URI?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi. After recent update I started to see issue where blue/white border is present when clicking web site elements. Ususally this kind of border is present if you select elements via keybaord but in this case it's present when clicking elements with mouse. It usually stop doing this if I close and reopen FF but not for long. Example is in posted screenshot. I have not altered my settings in any way.

fedex.com has broken my browser!

I have a FedEx account for my business, but I no longer use it. However, I also receive packages from FedEx from time to time. For reasons that cannot be explained by anyone at FedEx, my Firefox browser will not allow me to create a new FedEx account to manage my deliveries. In other words, after I enter my new username & password, the FedEx website comes back with a failure message with words to the effect that, "This didn't work, please refresh your page."

I called FedEx tech support & learned they are now totally incompetent. The only solution that was offered was "Clear all of your browser history". I didn't fall for that - I did however delete all history with "fedex" in the link. I also removed all 31 cookies associated with fedex.com. Then, I re-started the browser, and tried again:

Upon summoning the fedex.com login page, the login information was pre-filled with the userid & password for my old, unused business account! How does this happen without cookies or history? Where is fedex.com getting this data? Is it stored on my browser - or does fedex.com have some nefarious scheme whereby they're using my computer id or IP or???

I need to delete every shred of data in my browser that is associated with FedEx - how do I do this?

Over the past two days, I have found if I create a new tab, the shortcuts that I had saved on that page have all disappeared. Does Firefox keep a backup of these shortcuts? Unlike related support messages I've read, my bookmarks and bookmarks toolbar are unaffected.

These shortcuts (about 16 of them) took quite a while to accumulate, and it is frustrating to see that they can just simply disappear like that.

I am running Firefox 108.0.2 (64-bit) on Windows 10).

The issue where Firefox on Android does apparent background restarts is still occurring in the most recent release builds.

This was first discussed in the now archived topic https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1379604

It is 100% reproducible. Steps:

1. Go to https://www.theguardian.com/uk 2. Open in background tab one or two internal links to stories in that website 3. Firefox is hang for e.g. 40s then reloads from scratch all open tabs including to other sites 4. The device will behave as if it was recently restarted with all other apps doing UI refresh activity when you next access them

The repro steps are truly simple.

Should we raise this as an iss with the website instead? e.g. Chrome does not and never has had a problem like this on that website.

Cheers,

I recently installed new pc with fresh Firefox Developer Edition. Then I transfered the profile folder from old pc to the new pc. All bookmarks, addons, etc is there. Just the XULRunner popup appears only on the new pc. I uninstalled firefox on the new pc again and reinstalled it with profile cleaning. After profile cleaning firefox got faster and addons got removed. But the XULRunner popup keeps appearing. When I go to taskscheduler and trigger the "Firefox Developer Edition Background Update CA9422711AE1A81C" again, the XULRunner popup appears. Removing this taskscheduler and Firefox keeps readding it and the XULRunner popup are back. Any idea how I can get rid of the XULRunner popup?

I upgraded to 108.01 three days ago. It crashed 3 times in the next two days, accompanied by that popup you get informing you of the crash.

For years I've been using the extraction method of the executable to create a Firefox portable application. Upgrading only involves the install folder. The profile remains untouched, unaltered.

I had an incident of profile corruption a couple months ago, with basically Firefox launching with most features not working, i.e. toolbar buttons, toolbar menus, etc. Yesterday, for a short time, aside from two crashes, I had a similar experience with the buttons, but not quite the same. My default built in Firefox buttons worked, but my extension buttons didn't. I also noticed on a page that I regularly visit, Ublock origin wasn't doing it's regular job of blocking, and the Ublock button was non-responsive.

I'm also in the process of using the Brave Browser for the first time. The reason I'm posting this here about this subject, including a Brave experience, is that at the same time I was experiencing the Firefox erratic behavior, Brave was crashing as well; freezing; tabs not loading.

Considering the Brave tabs not loading, and the temporary Firefox Ublock origin failure, etc., I'm wondering if there might be something in common here? Maybe an internet connectivity issue at the time?
