Until today it worked fine. But now whenever I try to login to Xfinity I get You don't have permission to access "http://login.xfinity.com/login" on this server. It works fine on Chrome and Edge. I have disabled my add-ons. I have cleared cache, cookies, etc. I have rebooted. I have turned off firewall. I have checked my DNS. I have changed the DNS protection to OFF in Firefox. I have checked my proxy setting (I have no proxy). I have reinstalled Firefox. Etc. Etc. Nothing works. The fact that it works on Chrome and Edge, that it has worked everyday until today gets me confused. I also tried using my mobile phone as a hot spot to make sure it wasn't related to my Internet connection or IP address. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to view streaming live broadcasts in my country's public TV but the site detected some HDCP issue and asked me to use a HDCP-certified HDMI cable. Here is some quick info and what I had tried:

+ Besides privacy reasons, I am unable to share the website address, as viewing is limited to my country's IP addresses by the national broadcaster. + I have a dual-monitor set up to a Windows and a MacOS machine, both installed with Firefox 129.0.2 with add-ons being synced. + Viewing live videos on the same website in Windows Firefox (HDCP-certified cable) has no issue but not on MacOS Firefox (same HDCP-certified cable but different HDMI port on the monitor). + Switching around the different HDMI ports and cables yield the same outcome. + No issue on either Windows or MacOS when viewing recorded videos though. Only live streaming on MacOS is affected. + Tried disabling all add-ons and toggling DRM but to no avail. + Checked Widevine is latest version (4.10.2710.0).

Appreciate any advice or help please. Thanks in advance.

I use Snagit 2024 to capture the screen, since I'm in the support and documentation business. I just upgraded Thunderbird from v102 to v115.14.0. Now, when I press the PrintScreen key it is suppose to bring up the Snagit capture cross-hair but it doesn't - it always did in TB v102. The worst part is if I click a dropdown menu then press [PrintScreen] the menu always stays open. Because I cannot use the [PrintScreen] key clicking on the capture icon in the Snagit menu closes the dropdown menu so I cannot capture it.

What in the world is Thunderbird doing hijacking the [PrintScreen] key? Or is it? Why doesn't the hotkey work for other applications? Anyone know? Thanks,

I am running Thunderbird 115.13.0 (64 Bit) on a Mint 22 OS ... & have spent most of the day yesterday & a couple hours today to find the solution to the SMALL FONT SIZE in the "Folders Panel" in Thunderbird" & have checked several threads of others having the SAME PROBLEM ...

    • I FOUND THE SOLUTION TODAY!!
    • i simply want to save a ton of people the grief that I went through to solve the SMALL FONT SIZE in the various panels in Thunderbird ...

SOLUTION: On the Top Right of the Thunderbird Screen ... CLICK ON THE THREE BARS ... and you will notice that The SIXTH ITEM DOWN IN THE DROP DOWN MENU ... IS "FONT" ... THIS is WHERE you solve your Font Size Problem!! Simply click on the (+) sign to increase the font or click on the (-) sign to decrease the font size!! Viola!! Problem Solved!!

I read where people were directed to the config file under settings and setting up a chrome file ... but you don't need ANY OF THAT ... you DO However need to make sure that in the config file that it is set to the default setting of (-1.0) if it isn't ... & all of us need to apologize to the developers for saying that this updated version of Thunderbird is bad programing ... Because It Isn't!! They gave us a SIMPLE MENU to fix the font size ... we just didn't know WHERE it was!!

Blessings ... I hope this helps a ton of people with the same problem that I had so you DON'T waste a bunch of time and/or stop using Thunderbird because it is the BEST Email Program Out There!!

TB 115.14.0, Win 10 22H2, desktop PC, POP3 from gmail...

I select one of my gmail accounts in TB and click Get Messages. It downloads one or a few emails from gmail and then suddenly the Windows hourglass appears and the banner bar at top of screen which says: "Inbox - (email account)@gmail.com - Mozilla Thunderbird" shows (Not Responding). After ~10-15 sec, downloading resumes normally and all messages accessible.

Happens with all 3 of my gmail accounts and all use same settings: Server type: POP Mail Server Server Name: pop.gmail.com port 995 Connectivity Security: SSL/TLS Authentication: OAUTH2

No TB add-ons installed, Windows Scanning is disabled in TB, running Windows Defender. Lots of free disk space, 16 GB RAM...

Tried TB troubleshooting but nothing found. Have run various Windows checks (eg, DISM and sfc) with no errors and problem continues.

Suggestions?

My colleague, like me has been using Thunderbird for years, thank you. He has just purchased a new printer (Epson 2200) and he can no longer print any emails. Clicking on print brings up the box with 'Save to pdf' the ony option. We have gone into Troubleshooting Information and the printer appears in the print_printer line. We have also tried clearing the 'Clear saved print settings'. After we restart TB, no change, still unable to print with 'save to pdf' the only option. We have removed and reistalled the printer, which will print anything else outside of TB.

TB is up to date with the Nebula version. Windows 11 on new Acer Laptop.

Can you help?

Thank you

To start, I do receive most of my emails intact. However, there are the occasional email only partially appears. I see enough of it to know who it is from. As an example, I get a bill from xfinity and only what appears to be the graphic part shows up, but, the details of the body of the email do not appear. So I don't know what they want to tell me. All this is in regular Thunderbird. That being said, when I open Thunderbird in troubleshooting mode the full email is then visible. I have tried the reset everything and nothing seems to work. I have taken to only opening Thunderbird in troubleshooting mode as then I am assured of seeing the full emails, text and graphics. Maybe you can help me adjust something to fix this problem. Oh, I am using windows 10 on a pc. Thanks, Dic Bason

I was working with Tools->Message Filters to add another domain name into the account's e-mail address line vi the Edit... button. I did something I am clueless as to what it was, and now ALL an this account's INBOX contents are in JUNK

  • running a test send to this account, the incoming mail automatically goes into the JUNK folder.
  • JUNK now contains all INBOX contents (going back to 2014) as well as messages manually tagged as junk/spam
  • copying-pasting one or more Subject lines from JUNK to INBOX doesn't work
  • all mail stays in JUNK and nothing stays in INBOX
  • somehow it's as if I've made INBOX be a symbolic link to JUNK.
  • this happens on all my machines:

-- Mac running Monterey 12.6.1 with Thunderbird 115.10.1 (64-bit) -- Mac running Monterey 12.7.6 with Thunderbird 115.10.1 (64-bit) -- Mac running Sonoma 14.4 with Thunderbird 128.1.0esr (64 bit)

In this account's Tools->Message Filters, clicking Edit for SpamAssassinYes, and then not doing anything and simply clicking OK, a notifier window comes up stating:

Search Terms Invalid This filter cannot be saved because the search term "Junk Score Origin isn't" is invalid in the current context.

I've never intentionally edited the SpamAssassinYes Filter

HOW CAN I RESTORE INBOX TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY?

Today, it started.

When I open sites that I am subscribed to, a small gray-shaded nearly transparent rectangular window appears in the upper right of the screen (see attached screen capture), and it blocks access to login and search, thus rendering the site inoperable. The latest site rendered inoperable is Amazon shopping, so this is not a minor thing. I can no longer retain Firefox as my default browser.

No other browser on my Mac does this; the earlier version of Firefox active last night did not do so either. What is the purpose of this gray-shaded window? It makes the latest browser appear to be infected with malware.

Running OSX 10.13.6 on a mid 2012 Macbook Pro.
