I wrote a filter to send e-mails from user-x to trash. The filter worked for a few daysa, then quit working.
Two days ago TBird stopped saving emails. Today it stopped working altogether.

Hello i wanted to move my emails storage from c/user/user/appdata.... to d/thunderbird/profile.... results a lost all... i have 2 or 3 email accounts i cant attach the new D/ .../rpfile/8dsw...to others 2 email account only to 1 so i decide to get back ( C/ user/.../profile/8dsw... still in pc ) and get no more emails on 3 account and i if i add the profile file (8dsw...) to 1 email account show me all file associated to the account but nothing in inbox... ahhh misery misery ... My dad's email passwords opened his account until August 2021. He had passed away 3/23/2021. I had been operating all of his accounts when he became unable to, and I printed out all of his various passwords so I wasn't having to ask each time. I have enough of my own passwords to deal with. I normally wouldn't need to look at his emails, but some of our linked accounts are attached to his email address. Property tax, electric account, etcetera. So to reset some of the linked account passwords the emails go straight to his T-bird email. I'm tired of hearing the, "For security reasons, we can't assist you." from the various services. So after reading the different answers on how to do this I'm still stuck. Dad never used Firefox on the computer I got for him so I'm stuck. If I install Firefox on his computer I still need his password to change the password. Help.

I have two principal address books, collected and personal. I can add new contacts to these address books. Under collected, I have three lists of group contacts. I want to add a contact to a list in the personal address book. Searched under Firefox and lots of suggestions to drag n drop. Ha ha, highlighting the contact, the moment I drag it across the box towards the list of address books, I get the no-entry symbol, circle with a bar through it. Why is this happening please? How can I copy across the address books or lists? Why is drag n drop suggested when it doesn't work? I'm using Win 10 Pro vers 22H2 64 bit on a Dell PC. Firefox 118.0.2 64 bit. Your aid will save my mind !

I can't close it and it's not actually open. I've rebooted my computer but Thunderbird still insists it's open. What can I do? I can't access and folders or emails. I just lost my boot drive (just the OS) my home directory is on the drive= /export/home/harrison so all I need to do was tell Thunderbird to use my existing email account which when in with out a problem. so I tried to install my main email account so I said existing account and entered my credentials. which are incoming server: IMAP (imap.gmail.com) #993 SSL/TLS OAuth2 and my user name outgoing server: (smtp.gmail.com) #465 SSL/TLS OAuth2 and my user name then click done..... and that when I get this stupid message. "Incoming server already exists"

I used to have an extension or add-on the allowed me to play my own sounds for an incoming email on Thunderbird. However, that seems to have disappeared and I cannot find an add-on that will allow me to to that. I have many sounds that used to work but whenever you do an update to the browser they don't work.
Is there any add-on that you have that will work with my own alerts on Thunderbird or do I need to find another browser?

Sorry for posting this here but no response in TB forum. After I installed the latest up grade TB 115 I have lost all the old emails in my inbox, sent, and trash as well as the ability to use TB as I can't sign in. I get the following prompt when trying to use my account. "Sending of password for user ****@att.net did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later", and then a prompt to "Enter your password" which does not work, although the pass word shows up in"passwords". The TB account works fine in the Yahoo web account, but I don't keep anything there on a daily basis. The web TB account lets me send and receive mail normally. I haven't changed my configuration ,password or uninstalled TB. My G mail works normally. My android cell also won't let me sign in and asks for credentials per password which is unrecognized.

I could not find a link for asking a question on Thunderbird. I just updated Thunderbird. And I was looking around and changing a few things to see how they look and I have lost the "buttons" to bring it back to the original set up. I was looking to see if there was some form a reset button that would take me back t just after install. I am really not liking what I have changed and I want to go back. Plus, is there a way to move the location of the garbage can, more like the older versions. The garbage can is my best friend. Thanking you in advance, K
