Outlook displays the "To:" and "Add a subject" labels in black/grey text, but the rest of the "New Mail" window is white. There are no visible border lines between the "To" line and the "Subject" line. And no visible border between Subject and the email body.

The side-effect is an elderly person writes their entire email into the subject line field because it is not obvious where the email body starts.

I've seen this behavior on 2 different computers running the same (latest 120.0.1) Firefox. Odd thing is that I DO see borders when I run Outlook.com on my work laptop (same Firefox version). What config settings might control behavior like this?

I captured screenshots of the desired display of borders on my laptop. Tried .jpg, .png and .bmp. All of the files showed the borders between To, Subject and email body. But when those files are transferred to the PC I am on, the borders no longer display. Bizarre. I uploaded/download the files using Onedrive to ensure that the corporate email server was not touching the files. Even then the borders that exist in the files on the laptop do not display when those same files are viewed on my home PC.

My Firefox installation is several years old. As I peruse the Certificate database there are some that I have concerns about, however I have no way of knowing whether they are part of Firefox's default certificate database or were somehow added later. So, two (2) questions.

1. How can I replace the current certificate database with Firefox's current default database?

2. Is there somewhere a list of what certificate authorities are included in the default database?

Thank you in advance.

My cookies are being deleted very regularly perhaps two times per week and very often it seems to occur after one the the very frequent updates are installed. I have tested this by refusing an update for several days and the cookies remain, but after i accept, often, they are deleted. I have not changed any settings related to cookies at any time and so it does appear that the updates are the couse. there cookies are very useful and include preferences for websites and identification details and it's incrediibly frustrating to have them erased though no fault of mine

Hello,

I just up-dated to iOS Sonoma 14.2 (I know, I should have waited a month...) and now my system menu bar disappears, whenever I'm in Firefox. It's there where it should be, all the rest of the time--every other app I've tried so far.

Some kind of new incompatibility? Anyone know how to make my system menu bar stay put? It's not the end of the world, since I can just switch apps to make it come back, but I rely on many of my menu bar icons for on-going data (e.g., the clock, timers) and I'm in Firefox a lot. So being data/status blind while using it isn't great.

Thanks!

After inputting my master passwords, the browser only loads 16 of the 100+ passwords I had stored with it.

I am able to access them through the deprecated Lockwise app I have on my phone but they won't load on my desktop browser, even after doing a sync on my Firefox profile.

Is there a way to recover the lost passwords?

I just tried to connect to YouTube & get "You're offline. Check your connection." I assume this is due to a DoH connection issue. I can connect in Chrome. My Firefox Mozilla Connection Settings are "Use system proxy settings", though I have set this to "No proxy" in an attempt to fix this - didn't help.

Under Privacy & Security: "Enable HTTPS-Only Mode in all windows", "Enable secure DNS using: Increased Protection" - tried "Default Protection" - no help. Using Cloudflare default.

It has been a few months since I tried YouTube - not sure what's up. It works in Firefox on my phone..

The File -> Page setup option used to be visible by default. Now I have to dig into the "hazardous" about:config menu to enable it. This was available by default for years (decades?). Why is it now hidden away from average uses who may not need or want to mess with the custom prefs? Feels like Firefox is becoming more difficult to use rather than easier.

print.prefer_system_dialog and print.show_page_setup_menu seem like really basic features that the average user would want by default. Both require a trip into about:config now.

Firefox on my mac has recently started displaying strange text in any windows where the browser itself chooses the font. I verified that the font settings are default, and the issue persists. Screenshots attached, any ideas?

Only my mac has this issue, my iPhone, as well as two Windows PCs all on the same account do not present with this.

Windows 11 and High Performance mode (dedicated GPU)

Hi!

I'm on a newer laptop with an AMD CPU (with its own integrated GPU) and an Nvidia GPU.

When changing Firefox to "High performance" mode in the Windows 11 settings (System > Display > Graphics), it is said to use the dedicated Nvidia GPU. However, to my surprise, this is noticeably more stuttery and laggy than having it use only the integrated AMD GPU ("Power saving" mode).

Additionally, Firefox's hardware acceleration (General > Performance) is set to "use recommended", and my Windows 11 Power mode (System > Power & Battery) is set to Balanced.

I was wondering what the best way to configure all these settings is, such that it takes advantage of my hardware as much as possible? I wish to understand more than simply switching options until Firefox looks the smoothest to my eye --- what do these settings actually do, and how should they be configured idealistically?

I also sometimes run Linux, where things are a bit more complicated (e.g. Nouveau vs proprietary drivers, PRIME, etc) so I understand if the answer is less certain in that environment, but any info for it would be great as well.

Thanks!

Hello,

On the webpage https://www.drivethrurpg.com/pub_tools.php Firefox breaks. Image here for reference: https://imgur.com/a/382kw9L. The area in red in the first image is an error.

From the console I saw that the website is shifted to Quirks Mode.

From a discussion with their support they said that this is a Firefox issue, as the website does indeed work fine in Chrome and Edge.

Not sure why this is triggering Quirks Mode.

In the same imgur album (above) you can see that the page has a proper doctype HTML header.

Any ideas?

Using the menu line, if I click Bookmark>bookmark current tab, it used to bring up a box where I could edit the tab name and location of where to save that tab. Now, in Dec 2023, it bookmarks it but does not bring up this box. In order to see where the bookmark is, I have to again select Bookmark, EDIT this bookmark. Is there a setting I need to now adjust to bring up that box when bookmarking for the first time? I have W10 and updated Firefox.
