how do I have my tabs display on their own horizontal line?

I am using my laptop and can't get it to do it like on my desktop

right now the tabs share the same line as the bookmarks

I am getting VERY frequently the error message: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR when I start up Firefox. It does go away if I close the browser and start it up again within a few moments. But If I let the computer sit without using the browser, it comes back. Went through all of the steps mentioned in a solution on this board to correct this...STILL doing it. I have the most recent version of Firefox, so that's not the issue. My internet connection is very strong (both the router and computer are in the same room, pretty much side by side)and I've tried to connect both with and without my VPN but still have the same issue.

I have lived with Firefox as my only browser since about the late 1990's but may have to switch if this issue can't be resolved. Yes, it's minor but it's still an annoyance to deal with.

I have attached a screenshot of the error that's constantly coming up when I start Firefox.

The closed captioned text is out of sync with the video. The captioning is running well ahead (20-30 seconds) of the video, which renders it nearly worthless. Can I sync picture and text somehow, or is that in the domain of the content provider?

Hi folks! Am setting up my Firefox again after a laptop repair and finally decided to try out customising my theme.

I am having difficulty finding the settings to tweak colours for the following (areas highlighted in red in image):

• Sidebar background (the lighter part of it) - is this area something I can tweak from Firefox, or is it controlled by the extension's dev?
• bookmarks bar text colour -- i don't see any options to modify the bookmarks toolbar in Firefox Colour. Currently it's really hard to see the text :/
• Right hand dropdown menu background and text colours -- can I tweak these? Where do I find the setting?

I've had Firefox issues for months now. It started after the update three updates ago. Firefox would take 10-15 minutes to load, I often couldn't load websites even after it had loaded....except for a couple of nights recently I've been able to use it flawlessly. Like right now. It's almost 11pm and it's working. I've been through the clear the cache, check if the extensions are slowing it down etc. routine. So why is it working now? It probably won't work in the morning, it didn't work last night, but it worked a few nights ago and again tonight. I'm sorry this sounds so strange but I don't know what to do. I've had to use a different browser for a while but would love to come back to Firefox again.

Several pages I use regularly will no longer won't open completely in Firefox and I can only open in another browser. I have neeu sing these pages for many years and the have always opened in Firefox.

I am wondering if I am the only one experiencing problems with Firefox with using some websites. I have no choice but to use Safari, which works without any issues when I am encountering these problems with Firefox on a Mac.

My privacy preferences are set to Standard.

Sample websites with issues with Firefox: - substack.com; I could not create an account - paulaschoice.com - I wanted to purchase some items that were in my cart. After I entered all needed info to pay, the button for CHECKOUT just didn't do anything.

Safari had no problems doing the above.

Am I doing something incorrectly?

I would like to find an image of the computer screen that appears when I log on to Firefox with the toolbars, etc. labeled. I can't ask an intelligent question because I can't describe what I want. I have two Firefox images on the bottom of my computer screen. When I click on one of them, the eight websites that I go to most frequently appear in the center of the computer screen. However, when I click on any of them, nothing happens. If I click on the other Firefox image, there are seven websites displayed and only one is a frequently visited site. How can I activate the first site where my frequently viewed sites are found. Or, how can I edit the second site to populate it with sites I visit? On the second Firefox site, there is a item on the top tool bar, or whatever it is called, that is titled "Most Visited". It displays three sites, but multiple times for each. How can I edit that listing to include several sites I frequent?

Each time I go to open my Yahoo browser I am asked for my password even though I have selected remember this device. I have to go through the 2nd layer authentication to enter the 6 number code. This should be a simple thing to resolve but I can't figure it out.

Hi, When I search for google and then click tamil , my language, the phonetic key board is shown. But when I start to type it only types iln English and not in my native or regional language. Previously I had no problem in windows 7. But it is not working in the latest firefox browser. Any solution Any missing on my part

Usually on a mac you need to change shortcuts in System Preferences, but I couldn't find the action in Firefox's menu-bar in order to change it. And even changing the Command + P to something else, the print popup still appears, I wish Firefox had a section in the settings for shortcuts. Will appreciate any help!

Hi, The checkbox is checked to always ask me where to save files but it does not work. It always downloads to the download folder without asking. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot or fix?

ever since the latest update, i have had numerous issues with websites i use on a daily basis with Firefox, google chrome and microsoft edge still work without any problems. some of them are financial institutions (firsthorizon.com) or government sites (FDOR.gov) and others are simple as (Lowes.com). everything was fine until the recent update. also now i cant stream anything without it hanging up ten to fifteen mins into the stream. this is extremely frustrating that i now have to switch browsers to accomplish my everyday tasks. please fix whatever it is in the update and release a new one.

I am trying to get rid of my organization controlling my settings. I have gone through about:config but I have been unable to change to false, security enterprise_roots enabled. I am still unable to use Firefox or get duck-duck go as my search engine.

When I scroll through the tabs and I do not wait a bit after the next tab is shown, then often Firefox decides to jump suddenly about 10 tabs. This is really irritating because it requires me every time to search for the tab where I was. I am using Firefox 112.0.2 (64-bit) for Windows.

In my opinion this is a design mistake. Fast jumping can be a nice feature but only when the user specifically requests it. For instance by holding down the control key while clicking on the scroll button. Now it makes scrolling actually very slow since you have to wait after the next tab is shown to avoid the large jump.

This issue was raised a few years ago and a solution was mentioned here:

But this solution appears not to work anymore. Is there a working solution to avoid the large jumps?

When I close FF all my log-ins are deleted. Is there a fix? I am running Windows10 - 64 bit - current update 112. Soooooo very tired of logging into EVERY website over and over and over again Plz keep it simple wo/a lot steps. Maybe number the steps so I can follow it a bit easier? <deep sigh>

I can't get Firefox to use some custom cursors. Firefox is only recognizing the cursors that came installed with Ubuntu. Any of the cursors I installed will default to DMZ-White, but Firefox is using those cursors that came installed with Ubuntu. I tried defining the default cursor in /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme but did nothing as well. Also I tried with the cursor in /usr/share/icons and in /home/name/.icons and firefox cannot get in any of those.

I don't know if it's something wrong with my cursors or it's some inner thing with Firefox, any one has a guess? Incompatibility or something missing from the cursor?

This happens only in Windows 11 and only with Firefox. After installing the add-on "Roboform" I don't get a Roboform Toolbar at the bottom of the page. This only happens with Firefox and Windows 11. Ive this problem on my other computer with Winows 10. Help!! I really need this resolved soon.
