Firefox on MacOS 13.4 won't connect to internet after mac sleep

more options

I am running FF 114.0.2 on MacOs 13.4. Almost daily but more so after a weekend when unlocking my mac my firefox says it can't connect. No sites load, nothing works until i kill it from the Activity Monitor and restart it and it works fine. Chrome running next to it has no issue resuming its connection.

I have tried everything i can think off and nothing makes it work as it should after the mac sleeps.

Hello,

I understand that you're experiencing difficulties with Firefox on macOS after your Mac wakes from sleep. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

Clear the cache: Start by clearing your Firefox cache. Go to the Firefox menu, select Preferences, then Privacy & Security. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section, and click on 'Clear Data.' Make sure to check the box next to 'Cached Web Content' and click 'Clear.'

Disable extensions: Temporarily disable any extensions you have installed. Sometimes, extensions can interfere with browser functionality. Go to the Firefox menu, select Add-ons, and in the Extensions tab, disable all extensions. Restart Firefox and check if the issue persists.

Create a new profile: If the problem continues, try creating a new Firefox profile. This can help identify if the issue is related to your current profile. To create a new profile, follow the steps outlined in this support article: [link to Mozilla support article on creating a new profile].

Check proxy settings: Verify your proxy settings to ensure they are correctly configured. Go to the Firefox menu, select Preferences, then General. Scroll down to the Network Settings section and click on 'Settings.' Make sure the 'No proxy' option is selected unless you have specific proxy settings for your network.

Check for conflicting software: Sometimes, other software or security programs can interfere with Firefox's network connection. Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall programs and check if the issue is resolved.

If none of these steps resolve the problem, please let us know, and we'll continue to assist you further. Providing any error messages or additional details about your system setup would also be helpful in diagnosing the issue.
