How to remove auto update bookmark description
I find that the bookmark description field auto-populates for some sites even after I delete the content.
I have looked at all my add-ons and none seem to be bookmark related; most are for security, e.g., uBlock Origin, NoScript, gHosterly, etc.
I don't want updates to the description field. I usually leave it blank and use an html version as my home page. The descriptors just add clutter and are not harmonious with my wish to NOT have content forced.
No browsing of support form or on-line searches have led me to a solution. I also perused about:config, to no avail.

Hi, please proper description function name of what you are asking please as your question is very general with out their correct names.
Recently Bookmarked, can not do anything about it, other than manually delete.
From Library : Recent Highlights, can not do anything bit manually delete.
Other Bookmarks, do not save there if do not want them there.
You maybe able to change somethings by using userChrome : https://www.userchrome.org/ See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1190142 if the code still works.
These functions at this time are baked in and can not be changed.
This is about the Description field that a bookmark has and that you can inspect in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) in the details pane.
I'm not aware of a way to prevent a website from filling this field, but there might be an extension with such a feature. Firefox should only modify these fields if you click the star to edit the bookmark.

That's why I'm asking the quetion. I find the field populated even after deleting content and not touching the bookmark editor.
I don't think any app should be pushing content without the users permission.

Your reply does not address the problem of content being pushed into the description field for a bookmark.

Thank you, Pkshadow. I had previously searched add-ons and did not find one that turns-off the push of data into the description field for bookmarks. I think this should not be an add-on solution but turned-off by default. I have submitted a feature change suggestion.
Good bye.
Although there is not an extension that can override how Firefox creates bookmarks, if you use an extension to create new bookmarks, they can only contain a title and URL, they can't set the description field.
That could be a reasonable workaround, unless Firefox somehow imports that data later on its own...
