Links won't open

v68.12.0 (32bit). Windows 10 V 2004 build 19041.508

Just in the last couple days Thunderbird no longer will open links in e-mails. No error message. Just nothing opens. Tried changing default browser without success. If I view the same e-mail, web based IN a browser the links work fine, so seems not as likely to be a windows issue although there was a windows update in the last couple days.

Also...ccleaner had stealthily installed its own browser, but I uninstalled that along with the parent program.

ccleaner has been on my S$%t list for about a decade now for deleting Thunderbird settings, so lets just say I install it every few years to see if they have become less intrusive. They have not.

Having said that it rarely does much for anyone because the usual cause is a net nanny level anti virus/ Security product that is simply intercepting this now unknown version of Thunderbird and dropping the request to open link before they get to the operating system,.
