Whenever I enter a new calendar event in Thunderbird, the calendar always defaults the event start time to 15 minutes after the hour, regardless of what time I'm making the new calendar entry. Is the new event start time a default setting and if so, how do I change the default to start new events on the hour, meaning HH:00 and not HH:15 which is what Thunderbird always defaults to? I use Thunderbird v115.9.0 (64-bit) for Windows, and the computer runs Windows 10 Home, v22H2, build 19045.4170. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi lads,

I used TB for many years but only now started using it in office. I have a problem with the calendar function however which I have to use now. I'd like to have an audio alert and/or window pop-up forcing interaction for any event in my calendar, let's say 15 min ahead. I tend to overlook the small notification pop-ups in the bottom right corner of the screen since they also vanish automatically after a few seconds.

I can get these small bottom right corner pop-ups to appear for any event by using the global notification preferences in the Edit Calender options. However, I can not globally activate an audio alert or a window requiring interaction for upcoming events. I can just activate a reminder manually for each and every event, which is a lot of work, naturally. So, is there a way to activate a reminder (not a notification, which is the bottom right pop up I assume) globally for any event in a calendar?

Can also be done by an add-on or by manually changing source files, if anyone has suggestions in this direction.

Thanks in advance, trashmaster

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to have a calendar feature that's like Apple's Calendar and like Google's Calendar where I can drop files into the date I create or will edit. I would like it to also have an unlimited attachments list where I can drop as many as I can. Also if I can drop off files or have the destination open on my drive/pc?

Best,

Kevin

If I go into Config Editor and set PixelsPerPx and set it to 1.0, the "Chrome" (Icon size out of the calendar area) becomes tiny in my current resolution of 3840x2860, which I know seems "oddball" with screen magnfication at the recommended 300%.

"new meeting" is small enough to be unreadable. Seems to not honor the "View|Font Size" increases that the rest ("non-chrome") of the layout does.

Also, sometimes the needed controls are not visible (OK/Cancel/Save/etc.) when I do increase PixelsPerPx to say 1.2. Tbird ver 115.9 supernova; Windows 11

I just reinstalled Thunderbird v115 on new hardware with Windows 11. I share my wife's calendar, both hers and mine are Google. I used to be able to add events to both calendars. But now I can't seem to add an event to my wife's. When I click the save and close button the window goes away but I don't see the entry. The Read only box in properties is not checked. How do I fix this?

OS: Windows 11 Pro (23H2) Tb Version: 115.9.0 (64-Bit)

This is more a design question. With the Supernove release you moved the search bar and action icon into the top of the window. So on the email and calendar tab all the buttons are now on the very top next to search bar.

I configured to create new appointments in a new tab, not an extra window. But in this appointment tab the action buttons are in a seperate action bar below the tabs for email and calendar and not next to the search bar on top like I would have expected it according to the new design. I added screenshot to describe better what I mean. Is it planned to move the action buttons to the top for the new apointment tab?`

In general it is a bit annoying that the height of the toolbar on top varies. Like if there are buttons and you choose "show text below symbols" for it the toolbar is higher, of course. But then if you have a tab without symbols, e.g. the settings-tab or the new appointment tab, the height of the toolbar reduces. It would be great if this could be standardized.

Last week (and for years before) I could view my Google calendar, edit appointments and respond to invitations. in Thunderbird, Now the Thunderbird calendar is completely empty (all 5 calendars that I have subscribed in my Google Suite account). The Google mail account still appears to work normally in Thunderbird, and the Google calendar is visible in other clients (e.g. Samsung Calendar under Android or Outlook (MS 365) under Windows 10). I am using Thunderbird 15.8.1 running under Ubuntu Studio 22.04 LTS. Any ideas what happened or how to restore calendar functionality? Was there a recent update to Thunderbird or to the Calendar module?

When I create a new calendar event, I would like them always to be Private, as a default. I would also like to suppress the requirement that the recipient respond.

Can either/both be accomplished with either an advanced configuration setting or with an add-on? I've searched add-ons, found none that accomplish either.

Thanks

Hello, For about 6 months, I experience repeated incidents on the synchronization of calendars between Thunderbird and an Android app. The Android app and the CalDav calendar visible on Roundcube are in line. But some, not all, events do not appear in Thunderbird. When I enter the same event in the same calendar in Thunderbird, it is visible and flows correctly to the hosting server and to my phone. I have several calendars and it seems to happen specifically with one calendar. Their setup look identical and they are hosted on different mail accounts but under the same hosting contract. In the error console, I see errors related to server sync :

carddav.sync: Sync with server failed. CardDAVDirectory.jsm:652:11
      syncWithServer resource:///modules/CardDAVDirectory.jsm:652
NS_ERROR_FAILURE: Incorrect response from server: 403 Forbidden CardDAVDirectory.jsm:245

The id and password look Ok. They are the same as the imap connection, that works Ok. Also, I raised the Sync frequency to 1 minute and the above error doesn't appear as frequently.

Does that sound familiar? Is there something I should me specifically check? Best regards, Emmanuel

Please Someone help ?

I have followed all the suggestions I can find, but my Thunderbird Calendar will not sync with the Outlook Calendar on Windows 11. I am using TB Sync, but every time I try to add my Outlook Calendar ? It refuses to accept my Password, even though it is correct, and the User name and email are too ! It shows as error code 401, and cannot authenticate ?

I have tried a suggestion to create an 'App Password' to use in my Microsoft account, but the options described do not exist in my account !

Can anyone please help ?

Running Thunderbird 115.8.0 (64 bit) on Windows 11.

Until recently all was working well accessing an outlook.com calendar (on server outlook.office365.com) using tb-sync and Provider for Exchange ActiveSync (latest versions).

Now I get the following error: "Could not authenticate, check username and password (HTTP Error 401)." (Meanwhile email is working fine with the same credentials).

I then tried using the new Thunderbird non-add-on exchange calendar integration, with identical results.

I then deleted all the cached outlook passwords (settings -> Privacy and Security -> Passwords -> Saved Passwords) and tried again, with identical results.

Interestingly, after deleting the passwords, closing and reopening Thunderbird, it successfully downloaded new emails from outlook.com (in spite of supposedly not having the passwords).

Help please.

Hi,

I am running Thunderbird 115.6.0 on Linux.

One of my calendars is on a Synology NAS with Synology Calendar.

I can create new events. As long as I don't close Thunderbird I can change the events as well.

But after a restart of Thunderbird I cannot change the events anymore. Ending up with a o/rjcpdo/pdo/faa15765-29e1-4470-80d7-5157b042bddf.1705244573723.ics [HTTP/2 405 Method Not Allowed 817ms].

I can still change the event for instance on the default calendar of Android. The changed events also show up in Thunderbird.

After changing the event on Android. I can change the event in Thunderbird again untill restart.

What I've seen so far is that the working link from Thunderbird is different than the link when it is not working. Not working. https://XXXX.synology.me:80/caldav/xxxxx/rjcpdo/pdo/faa15765-29e1-4470-80xx-5157b042bddf.1705244573723.ics

working: https://XXXX.synology.me:80/caldav/xxxxx/rjcpdo/faa15765-29e1-4470-80xx-5157b042bddf.1705244573723.ics

I've changed part of the link (xxxx) but it is the extra pdo part in the not working link.

Anybody any idea what is going wrong here?

Regards
