"Bookmark syncing in progress" constantly when I use firefox. Its eating up my cpu such that it takes minutes to even load a page. Even typing this message is laborious. I type a word then wait 5-6 seconds for it to be typed then I type the next word. How can I stop this? I don't want my bookmarks synced. Firefox is essentially nonfunctional. If I can't get this resolved quickly, I will have to uninstall firefox. Help, please!

Firefox Sync isn't built into Firefox 3.6, you added an extension to get that "Bookmark syncing in progress" feature.

Try disabling the Delicious Bookmarks extension that you installed.

That fixed it, thanks. However now I can't use Delicious. Is there anyway I "can have my cake and eat it too"? That is, still use Delicious for bookmarking without the lengthy sync issues?

You can. Here's the fix: First, make sure you have the latest Delicious add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/delicious-extension/ Once it's enabled, go to your Tools menu. If you have the latest version of FF, you'll need to hit F10 to see the old menu. From there, go to Delicious Options and switch to Classic Mode. I'd walk you through, but apparently the Delicious Options menu item disappears once you're already in Classic. Here's more info, under the header Control Delicious Add-On Options: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/delicious-firefox-40-beta-extension/

That worked. I really appreciate it. Thank you.
