Go to: View > Toolbars

Do you see the ALOT Toolbar there? If so, UNCHECK it.

If not, go to: Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and see if it's there. If it's, uninstall from there.

Thanks, I know how to check or uncheck, I wanted to remove this toolbar for good and can't find it under Add/Remove Programs.

You won't find it there. Go to Tools | Add-ons | Extensions and remove it from Firefox.

Then go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free and run that to remove it from you PC.

By the way, ignore the link to the 'free scanner' on that page because you have to buy it to remove ALOT. Malwarebytes will remove it for you for free if the link silkphoenix posted doesn't do the trick.

I'd recommend you run the Malwarebytes scanner anyway because ALOT might have installed other malware on your system.

If ALOT is part of FIREFOX/Mozilla, why don't they clean this up since it is coming thru them. My next move will be to change from Mozilla and uninstall the complete Mozilla file.

It is NOT part of Firefox and/or Mozilla. Just like any other toolbars (Google, Ask.com, etc.), they are being installed by the users, either intentionally or without knowing it when they install some other software programs. It has been getting very common now when you install a software, certain kinds of "hidden programs" are being presented, and usually they have a check box for you to agree or disagree to install it along with the actual software you are installing. And most of the times, users do not know of such options and go ahead click the 'install' button,with that, these toolbars are being installed also. The most common ones are: Ask.com, McAfree Norton toolbar as well as Norton.
