After installing the latest patch NOTHING will print as it should. Every site, every file, everything is not spacing properly when sent to the printer. Previous version worked fine and all other browsers print properly.

Chosen solution

The fix will be in the next beta, if there is one, or in the 4.0 Release Candidate. Or you can install the latest Minefield nightly.

ok so how do I actually get the printer to print properly? Is this bug automatically updated over nite or do we have to wait for a new patch.

Ok I clicked on the ftp link and saw the files available for download. I am on Windows 7 - 32 bit system so I downloaded the zip file labeled

firefox-4.0b13pre.en-US.win32.zip

I extracted the files to my desktop and ran the firefox application. This is the pre-release for the next full version I see. I have tested the printing and verified that the printing issue has been solved. Thank you and I hope others with the same issue will find this useful as well.

I just tried it again and it works fine. Here is the link you should click on: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/

Then find the zip file for the proper version of windows you are running and click on it for download.

After I downloaded it, I extracted the zip file to my desktop and then copied all of the files in that folder over the existing Firefox files I had under the Program Files/Firefox 4.0 Beta and its works smoothly.

I downloaded the suggested file and it fixed the problem. Thanks.

That fixed the printing! Thanks!

I did as suggested and while the printing is now fixed, the firefox icon has changed to a different pic and it says Minefield at the top left of the browser. Also, there appear to be some problems with the appearance of the browser.

That is because this will be the newest version of Firefox. This is called the pre-release so you are seeing it before the rest of the public. That is why its called beta so bugs are worked out before the final version is released. That should answer your questions =)

I have down loaded file firefox-4.0b13pre.en-US.win32.zip and unziped. Which of the files in the unzipped folder do I exec to install 4.0b13pre

There is no installer file. Simply locate the older Firefox folder - should be located in My Computer / hard drive / program files / Firefox 3.6 or 4.0. Open this old Firefox folder and copy all of the files from the new one you just downloaded into the old one. It will ask you to overwrite a bunch of files - simply click ok or copy & replace. Dont copy the folders... just copy the files inside each folder. If you copy the folder it will over write the entire folder and you will possibly lose your bookmarks and any other settings/files that were previously created. Hope that helps!

I had a problem with my printers as well with Beta 4.0b12 so I had to go back to 4.0b10 and all is well. The way I got beta 12 out is go to run and type in regedit and go to local machine and look for Mozilla and then firefox 4.ob12 the delete it. You say there is a fix why don't you send it to my email.....jgp_48678@comcast.net. My name is Gary Pinkard of Hillsboro Or.
