I cannot click on and load suggested search terms in Google toolbar

I am using Firefox Bert 4 v. 11. I have Google toolbar installed. If I start to type a search term and suggested searches appears and I click on the suggested search term nothing appears in the search box. The same thing happens if I click on the down arrow an try to select a saved search term.
