You should not use pre-release versions of Firefox for day-to-day browsing.

For bug reporting, use bugzilla. Read this first, however.

This isn't a very constructive answer. Beta versions of Firefox are released for the very purpose of getting them tested. Punishing him because he's reporting a problem is defeating this purpose.

FYI, I also have the same problem. I've tried disabling all labs in Gmail, but it still hangs. I'm trying to find the right forum to post this. Bugzilla is a hopeless mess - non-devs should not have to try to sort though the bugs in order to report, and few Mozilla employees appear to monitor Getstatisfaction.

I second kop48. The issue of gmail not sending is one of very few issues I've had with FF4b4. But it is nagging and obnoxious.

Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but I just wanted to confirm it's an actual problem before submiting it to bugzilla.

However, i have more information, this only happens to me on Windows XP.

When I'm in Linux, everything works smoothly.

As I said before, read this before filing a bug.

For what it's worth, GMail does appropriately send the e-mail. So if you click send, wait a little bit (it's easier to gauge if you don't have any attachments, if you do give it what you feel is an appropriate amount of time) and then click "reload" you'll be back at your inbox. You can verify via the Sent Mail folder that the e-mail was indeed sent, and everyone I've emailed has gotten them.
