I'm installing Thunderbird on a new computer, now with Windows 11. I had exported my entire email set from the old computer. When importing on the new computer it pulled in all my old folders and the emails in them -- except for my inbox. A few emails were pulled in but another 800 were not. What can I do to import them?

I understand that Postbox, based on Thunderbird, will never be updated to become compatible with Apple silicon chips. Therefore Postbox will cease to work when Rosetta will be deprecated on macs. Consequently my question is where can I find directions to import messages, filters, and preferences from Postbox to Thunderbird?

When I tried to set up a second email account (peters-up40@t-online.de), I received the following error message: "login to the server failed. I followed the productivity tip to use 'baskets' called Respond, To Read, and Revisit and found it quite useful.

Then Thunderbird updated to Nebula 128.1.0esr (32-bit) and now I can't find the three 'baskets' - they've vanished.

Of course I don't know what messages were in the baskets and can't find them now.

Please help Duncan

PS I have folder modes set to "All folders"

Thunderbird needs to change its coding very soon because all Google Gmail account holders who are transferring their mail to Mozilla will no longer have access near the end of the month. Google is cutting us off. They say that it's a security issue because they cannot verify authorization. Since their decision is final, Mozilla Thunderbird must adapt by changing the email programming before August 24th.

So, Mozilla, what are you going to do and why has this been kept quiet? It seems that Microsoft will still cooperate but forget Google.

I have installed Thunderbird and want to set up an email account' . I enter: Name : Roger Keelingling@f2s.com pw : ******** (I have checked this visually and tried many times - must have got it right once)

I get the message "Thunderbird failed to find the setting for your email account"

According to f2s the settings should be as attached. I have tried manual setup with many options but nothing connects properly (or at all). On some attempts I get a message "The certificate for inmail.f2s.com is not valid for this server" (flashes up too quickly to read accurately). Any suggestions on account setup?

I have Thunderbird installed on two Windows machines that I manually keep in sync. I copy my data files and profile back and forth between the two machines as I use each one, and I keep them updated to identical versions. Have been doing this for years with no trouble.

Last time I clicked on "About Thunderbird" on one machine (A) it offered to upgrade from 115.10.1 to 116.0 (auto updates turned off). But the actual update failed and now its offering only to upgrade to 115.14 esr. OK, but now I'm concerned the other machine (B) with the same update prompt (to 116) might not follow the same path, then I have the two versions out of sync and that is a real PITA to fix as I discovered once some years ago.

Why didn't I get the 116 version that was offered in the dialog, and instead switched to esr channel, and how can I be sure the other machine will switch to offering 115.14 esr also so I can keep identical versions? I thought of creating Windows restore point just in case so I can roll back but would rather not risk it.

updated from 128 to 129 and now T-Bird is broken. First it opens a second T-Bird apt instead of the original apt. Second the graphics are screwed up as the top tool bars are white with very unreadable faint buttons, so I can not pick and chose , and when replying to an email the header graphics have too much dark which covers the formatting tools and other parts of the header. There are several other problems that I have not found yet as I have only had this update less than 24 hours.

See the screen shot of my broken version 129 of T-Bird. It needs fixing and fixed quickly. How do I revert back to 128 which worked perfectly.

Hello,

After upgrading the Thunderbird to the latest version (128.0.1esr (32-bit)), and trying to switch View->Layout->Classic View to Vertical View, and back to the Classic View, messages from last almost 15 months are not visible. Messages prior to 15 months ago are visible, and from that point, just couple of them showing totally unrelated content than nothing; looks like something is corrupted.

After the latest Thunderbird upgrade, one new message arrived and everything looks OK.

Any hint please?

Thanks. Branko

I updated to 125 in order to install a new version of an add-on that has been made compatible. But two other add-ons are now incompatible.

How do I roll back to 115? I have a backup of my hard drive with 115 installed and working. Is it enough to copy the old Thunderbird folder and the /Program Files/Mozilla Thunderbird folder?

Thunderbird used to come with spell checking ready to go.

I have just installed the latest version of Thunderbird and have written a few words including a deliberate spelling mistake and nothing happens. I get the spell checking window but no message I press recheck text and nothing happens

The check spelling while typing box is ticked.

Is a dictionary pre-installed or do you have to install one first?

Please resolve.

Hi, Where are imap message filters stored under Thunderbird Nebula? On an exact transfer from Win10 Supernova to Win 11 Nebula, on separate laptops, my new imap message filter list is completely blank. Only my Local Folder filters appear - which do not work on live emails.

I can create new imap filters but I cannot find them in any msgFilterRules.dat file on the new Win11 system.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

I had to reformat a hard drive. Unfortunately, my current Thunderbird profile was erased. I have a 7-month earlier profile backed up, and my current emails are still available from Spectrum webmail. Can I re-install the old profile, and download the newer emails from Spectrum to create a new profile? What is the safest way to proceed and not lose emails? Thanks!

Thanks in advance for your help.

I want Thunderbird to save my email passwords for both incoming and outgoing mail for several accounts (both POP3 and IMAP). I currently see no entries under "Saved Passwords". As far as I can tell, the only way to trigger password saving is at the point of creating a new account, by checking the "Remember password" box. However, that box remains gray and is unable to be checked. I'm running Thunderbird 115.13.0 (up-to-date) on Windows 11, and get the same results with/without Norton 360 or other similar utilities installed/running. All help will be much appreciated!
