Every few days I get a dialog box that says an update is available, I can either dismiss or download. There isn't any discernible difference in what happens when I click either button. Dismissing it doesn't matter, Firefox will always auto-update when it feels like it. Clicking the download button doesn't appear to do anything either... until the next day (or days later) when it tells me it needs to restart to complete the update.

Did it really take 24 hours to download the update? Or did the "download" button do nothing and it was actually the auto-update happening the next day?

I'm so so so so so so tired of my browsing session getting knee-capped and losing data. Is there any way for me to tell Firefox "yes, download and install the update, and do it right now" so I can be ready for it? Is there any way to see a progress bar somewhere so I can watch it happen and be ready for the restart?

Hi! I sometimes play 2 YouTube videos each in own browser. In FireFox it pauses the video in the browser not active. Is there a setting to keep both videos playing?

i run Firefox Version 115.14.0esr (64-bit) on my older MacBook with OS 10.12.6, which I must use only to run Quicken for Mac 16.2.4. My other MacBook runs OS 14.6 and I would like to update Firefox on that machine, but keep all of the existing Firefox info. Can I update Firefox on the new Macbook and still keep the ESR version on the older machine, without losing all my history?y?

I've run through the steps (updating firefox, my macbook, checking if any of the extensions are interfering via troubleshoot mode) but Firefox still crashes. This came out of the blue and I'm unsure why it's suddenly doing this. Here's the report ID number.

I have a Mac with Sonoma. Somehow a while ago I ended up with Firefox ESR, which I was told that will not be supported after September.

I am a non-technical user. While I do have Safari and Chrome, I would prefer to continue using Firefox.

Could you please let me know the steps to execute to somehow switch from the ESR version to the current normal version without loosing settings, bookmarks or ending up with problems? Thanks in advance.

Issue Description: Typically, clicking on scroll bars doesn't cause the currently focused element to lose focus. However, when I click the scrollbar of an element with tabindex set to '-1', the focus is lost from the currently focused element. I'm unsure if this is the intended behavior or not, but it seems odd to me. I would appreciate it if someone could clarify whether this is a bug or intentional.

Steps to reproduce: 1. Focus on the input element. 2. Click on the scrollbar of the `ul` element.

You'll notice that the input element loses its focus. However, if you remove the `tabindex` attribute from the `ul` element and then click on the scrollbar, the input element retains its focus.

I have a Rode XLR mic connected to an Audient ID44 audio interface connected with USB to my Macbook Pro M3. This microphone works fine in other apps like Chrome and QuickTime, but it doesn't work in Firefox.

When I select the microphone in something like https://mictests.com/ or Google Meet there's simply no audio coming out. If I select a USB microphone (e.g. my Logitech webcam's) it works fine.

Something I noticed that in Chrome the https://mictests.com/ website detects 1 audio channel, whereas in Firefox it detects 20.

Hello, whenever I try to type into a text box the "manage passwords box" appears, which is fine with me, but with this website...there is a drop down menu, which then makes the password box completely cover it, and I've been trying to find a work around, but nothing work, I want to save my passwords, the feature is great, the password box is fine with me in other websites, is there like a button to press to remove the password autofill box when I don't need it, or simply just remove the autofill suggestions, because the fact it keeps covering the drop down menu is becoming annoying.

I just looked at the data removals in progress and it appears that you are removing information that is actually not related to me. Family members are listed and they are not my family members. I don't know what other errors the system is making.

In the Privacy & Security pane we have the following configuration

Clear history when Firefox closes with all items selected except for Site Settings. Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed with some exceptions in Manage Exceptions.

But after quitting and re-launching Firefox there frequently entries for random websites shown in the "Manage Data..." pane.

This seems to related to having Facebook Container and Firefox Multi-Account Containers extensions installed. It does not seem to happen when they are not present. Interestingly. we had been using a a very similar Firefox configuration on a legacy Intel macOS system without this issue. We began seeing it while setting-up a fresh installation of Firefox on a new Apple Silicon system with macOS Ventura. The issue was reproduced in a new profile. It continues to the present day with up the current version of Firefox 129.01 on macOS 14.6.1 I feel like this is probably a bug but I don't have the necessary skill to make an effective bug report.

I cannot disable or delete the two websites that appear in my Autoplay list under Settings. I've tried everything but when I reopen the window, they still have permission to "Allow Audio and Video". Why can't I disable this?

For months I have been unable to load the Google Meet website in Firefox. I keep my browser up-to-date and have tried different privacy settings, container tabs, etc. Every time I go to meet.google.come, I end up in a redirect loop pointing me to https://meet.app.goo.gl/?link=https://meet.google.com/&apn=com.google.android.apps.tachyon&ibi=com.google.Tachyon&efr=1&ifl=https://meet.google.com/about instead. Clearing cookies and such seems to fix it, until I log back into my Google accounts and the problem starts happening again. Any ideas how to fix this?

Hello. Periodically I need to connect to my employer's VPN. Whenever I do, all of the open tabs in Firefox will not refresh or connect to new websites. This is especially troublesome for pages that refresh periodically like when viewing email. New tabs open webpages fine. I have tried using a "hard reload" (Shift while using the Reload button) on the already-open tabs as well as clearing the cache through the Settings menu. I've also tried changing the proxy settings in Network settings (Configure Proxy Access to the Internet; No proxy, Auto-detect proxy settings for this network, Use system proxy settings, Manual proxy configuration)

Any ideas on how to prevent this problem in the first place or fix it when it happens?

When i try log into office.com for example i get the attached error, i have troubleshot with MS support, they cannot resolve it, the websites works on newly installed browsers, but the two installed browsers, safari and mozilla do not work, cleared cache, history etc and also reinstalled, no luck, please advise re the issue happening on firefox and if you can resolve it we will contact apple for the safari issue

ms believe it is a browser problem which it could be but two browsers stopped working at the same time and only newly installed browsers that have never been on the mahcine work, reinstalled old browsers do not work

running on mac ios

Forming paragraphs with left hand margin in block form. Whenever I type an outgoing message, the left hand margin gets chopped up. I want the margin to always be in "block" form, in the same manner as this paragraph, where the left-side margin sentence structure matches up. Right now, the computer is making the left hand margin non-existent.

I want outgoing messages to display as block form on the left side. It now ends up being chopped up with no particular margination. I have no idea where to go to choose this option.
