So my Question is is there any way to prevent Firefox to change the Profile after Updating. Because i work in IT thats why the Security is a Problem so i cant just leave an older Version on every System. The Problem is the Customer dont want to change it everytime.

I would really appreciate it if someone has an Solution. 😊

I can’t seem to update my Firefox acct. I’ve tried updating it several times and I can’t tell if the update happened. When I try to sign into my Chase acct, it keeps telling me that I need to update the version.

Every few days I get a dialog box that says an update is available, I can either dismiss or download. There isn't any discernible difference in what happens when I click either button. Dismissing it doesn't matter, Firefox will always auto-update when it feels like it. Clicking the download button doesn't appear to do anything either... until the next day (or days later) when it tells me it needs to restart to complete the update.

Did it really take 24 hours to download the update? Or did the "download" button do nothing and it was actually the auto-update happening the next day?

I'm so so so so so so tired of my browsing session getting knee-capped and losing data. Is there any way for me to tell Firefox "yes, download and install the update, and do it right now" so I can be ready for it? Is there any way to see a progress bar somewhere so I can watch it happen and be ready for the restart?

i run Firefox Version 115.14.0esr (64-bit) on my older MacBook with OS 10.12.6, which I must use only to run Quicken for Mac 16.2.4. My other MacBook runs OS 14.6 and I would like to update Firefox on that machine, but keep all of the existing Firefox info. Can I update Firefox on the new Macbook and still keep the ESR version on the older machine, without losing all my history?y?

I accidentally uninstalled the wrong version of Firefox on Windows 10. I uninstalled the Firefox Version I was using. Therefore, I need to get back my current version with my bookmarks. Is this possible? Does Mozilla Firefox keep these on a server somewhere I can download it from?

Since updating to 192.0.1, login to site does not work. 64-bit Windows 10.

I find myself unable to send the material on my google docs after declining to pay Vimeo their requested payment. Seems I cannot send anything successfully without this Vimeo in operation. Can you advise or fix the problem?

Is Firefox for Windows & MAC designed to uninstall old versions of standard, ESR, & Mozilla maintenance service apps? If so, then the assumption you have is that the install didn't execute properly, correct?

My Firefox updates automatically, often when I'm away from my computer. When I installed Firefox initially, I told it not to create a desktop shortcut, but apparently that note didn't get stored anywhere. Every time it updates, it creates a new desktop shortcut. Every time, I delete it. This is getting old.

I'm on a Windows 10 machine and my Firefox settings show that I've selected "Automatically install updates (recommended)" with the optional "When Firefox is not running" also selected. But I don't see anything that will prevent new desktop shortcuts from being created. How can I make it stop?

(And this is not a good answer.)

I have just installed the latest version of Firefox on my Windows laptop. I know am unable to log into my ebay account. I am asked to verify my identity, but get stuck on the page as it gives me no option to actually verify myself. See the attached screen shot

I can log in on Google Chrome, but don't want to.

Can you help?

I am noticing this for months if not years. Automatic update never works, first it claims that FF restart is required to install the update but when invoked FF never restarts automatically. Alternatively if FF is closed without invoking restart subsequent manual launch never starts the browser. Only the second manual launch opens the browser window which takes a small portion of the upper left corner of the screen and there's no Maximize button - instead the button is Restore and upon clicking the small window moves beyond the upper right corner of the screen putting the maximize button out of reach. So I have to somehow grab the title bar and move it to the view so I can finally maximize the window - very annoying. Upon checking the FF version remains the same, no update occurred. Invoking another update results in endless notification Updating FF. At some point there's a notification that I have to update FF manually by downloading an installer etc. This goes on and on over and over. Could this mean my FF is hijacked?

When i do update my configuration settings changing by itself. Example, "browser.cache.disk.enable" is "false" but after every updates its always changing to "true". This happens only after updates.

Helping a friend who is using Firefox without having a Mozilla profile/account who is upgrading to a new PC. - Is there a way to export her passwords to a file and restore to the new PC? Going from Win 7 to Win 11. - Otherwise, can she just create a Mozilla account on her old PC and turn Sync on to transfer to the new PC? I am assuming all her settings will be retained. This has been happening for months. I am unable to access my twitter/X account. I am also unable to share anything, as well.
