Under Account Settings, I went to synchronization&storage, clicked Advanced to be sure the files would be available offline. I exited Thunderbird & used File Explorer to go to my root directory to Profiles. There were 2 files, one with the ext of .default-esr which was a large file. The other with ext of .default which was a very small file. I copied both of these to an external drive. Under Account Settings I went to Copies & Folders & under Message Archives, I didn't know what to choose. I need to know how to copy to the Local Folders of the profile for each email account which is 2, Gmail & Hotmail or Outlook. Thanks.

Hi, I am planning the switch from GroupWise into a hosted mail solution - using Thunderbird as the client. I have with issues connected Thunderbird to the current GW server but I only see and get 4,000 emails in the Sent folder - the server has well over 11,000. How can I force Thunderbird to read them all? Best regards

Hello, I am using TB Version 115.12.2 (32-bit). Overnight Xfinity is asking for a password to download my email from the imap mail server. ("Login to server imap.comcast.net with username jdjanisse5@comcast.net failed") .Comcast (xfinity) tells me the problem is with TB. as I stated this happened overnight. I made no changes whatsoever! Can you please offer some resolution? Thanks, John

I have been fighting this for a while but I do not receive emails from people with gmail accounts. My email service is from gmx.com that I access from thunderbird. Several months ago I suddenly stopped getting my wife's emails. She now texts me if she needs to send me something. Now the same problem with my daughter's gmail account. I have not received emails from some others that are probably also gmail accounts. I don't seem to have a problem getting emails from accounts other than gmail.

If I go to the gmx site, the emails are there but they are not being downloaded by thunderbird. Thunderbird does download all the other emails, just not the ones from gmail accounts. I have checked my message filters and there are no filters that reference gmail. How can I fix this?

Any anyone ever had Thunderbird Email Filter REALLY work? I never have.

- Some emails do get sent to my Junk Folder (where I have it assigned to go to). - Some emails are noted as Junk, but not filtered to the Junk Folder (please see Image). - Some emails are still coming thru as normal emails, with no notification.

I've added an Image of how I set the Email Filter for every SPAM email.

I got an email from Microsoft saying my Live.com or Outlook.com email accounts won't be supported in Thunderbird UNLESS I change the settings to OAuth2 in incoming and outgoing server settings.

I even REMOVED the email account and re-added it making sure it was OAuth2.

But for my live.com & outlook.com email accounts I continually get prompts for passwords from Thunderbird. Sometimes I can't even click the RED X at the upper right to shut the prompt down. I just happens over and over until I give it what it wants.

I am tempted to shut down all Microsoft email accounts and switch to Gmail.

I have Thunderbird version 115.12.2 (64-bit) I used Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.3810 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1020.0

Any idea how to stop these prompts?

I like Thunderbird much more than any other email program I have ever used, and would like to keep it

I downloaded Thunderbird 120 and installed. All I get is error message saying windows is searching for thunderbird.exe and nothing else. Old version has disappeared and I can not uninstall - get same searching for uninstall.exe. I have tried re-downloading it and re-installing it 4 or 5 times, still nothing. help please.

Tried installing v115 latest on Ubuntu. Hangs when I try to set up email acc and it tries to log into the Gmail server. "Danger ahead" displayed on page with no option to force it to proceed.

Thus please dispense with any solutions for this and just inform how I can install v91.1.2 using apt-get

I see you list the versions but I see no where on how to specify which version to install.

The (preinstalled) default value is "AW,Aw,aw". But when I reply to a message whose subject line begins with "AW:", Thunderbird prepends it with "Re:", so that after a few back and forths we have silly subjects like "Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: AW: .............. ".

I am running Thunderbird Flatpak from Flathub on Linux Fedora.

I just checked for updates in Software app. I noticed a few, plus system updates so ran them. I remember seeing Thunderbird reported something weird like ‘v128 [arrowright] v115’. I am making that up but I remember two numbers and the left hand one was a higher number than right hand one.

I thought it was odd but carried on, assuming Software updates never go backwards so it must be some weird anomaly. After rebooting, after updates done, I now get an error/warning when I open Thunderbird…

Hello I have a ntlworld.com email as my main email, I recently added a second email address on gmail.com When I try to send an email on ntlworld I am unable, yet I can send emails on gmail. Before I added the gmail.com I had no problems sending emails on ntlworld.com I am able to recieve emails on both ntlworld and gmail.

I have been using thunderbird without any problems for many years, but recently it stopped downloading emails from my two (IMAP) accounts (different domains, but both using the same host server). And sending emails fails as well with the following message: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) send.one.com timed out. Try again."

I can still access my emails through the web but since my entire office procedure is designed around Thunderbird, I'm keen to get this sorted.

One.com - my hosting service - say that there is nothing at their end causing the problem. So I guess its some setting in thunderbird somehow stopping communications with both the incoming server and the outgoing one. I have gone through the obvious steps - checked numerous times the server settings (including changing these to alternatives suggested by One.com tech support) - they are all as they should be. Also I stopped my antivirus for a few minutes, just in case it was that.

All of this happened without any obvious update or change to the Thunderbird version, or any action of mine that could possibly have changed any of the settings.

Any ideas? And if no positive suggestions, does Thunderbird have logs which might give me more information as to why the contact be me and the servers are failing?

Hi! Our email server recently migrated from Media Temple to Microsoft and, like many people, we are able to receive messages but not send them. I have gone through the process and updated both the SMTP and IMAP settings to no avail.

One support article says, "Per Microsoft documentation, administrators should visit https://login.microsoftonline.com/{tenant-id}/adminconsent?client_id=9e5f94bc-e8a4-4e73-b8be-63364c29d753 and grant the following permissions in order to authorize Mozilla Thunderbird: IMAP.AccessAsUser.All, POP.AccessAsUser.Al, SMTP.Send and offline_access."

I have followed those instructions and am still unable to send emails from our accounts. The only account able to both send and receive is our admin account. Does anyone know if there are additional settings that we need to configure in Thunderbird or does this need to be done in Microsoft Entra admin center?

I got a new computer (still a Mac like my old one) but evertime I try to import any OpenPGP keys, I just get an error that says “Error! Failed to import key.” and nothing else. I’ve directly exported my onw personla key from my thunderbird on my old laptop, put it on a thumb drive, tranfered it over to this one, and still I can’t open it.

Hi, I am running TB 115.12.1 without any extensions. I have configured caldav accounts, on Forwardemail servers, on TB as well as on Android with DAV5x. Everything syncs without errors and most calendar entries are visible on TB, but not all!!! I have installed OneCalendar app along side TB and OneCalendar shows all calendar entries (as far as I can tell)!

Has anyone experienced similar issues? Any ideas how I can procede would be v welcome. What are the known issues with calendars on TB115.12.1?
