How do I either stop videos from autoplaying or auto repeating? Either one would be a blessing but I've searched and cannot find an effective way to do it. Blocking in Firefox is not effective. Mostly it seems in facebook, but I believe it repeats all the time on all sites.

I just updated to Thunderbird 128.1.1esr and now the green read status dot seems smaller. Or maybe my eyes are getting too old. Either way I need a way to increase the size of the dot.

It used to be that when the row showing the active message was greyed over to indicate the active message the green would disappear but the dot still showed some shading that indicated the current letter was unread. Now I can't see any difference between read and unread. And it's tougher to select the smaller dot with my mouse.

I tried using the Aris-t2 Github userchrome modification for CSS but I'm not sure what to change for such a specific goal as making the green read status dot bigger.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As I said in the title, the spellchecker add-on I use, LanguageTool, does not work on this site. I am not fine with that. What's the best way to get it working here? Any answers that amount to "you don't" are not acceptable.

I need help with print. type settings on Firefox. When I print labels, the orientation is not right, and there are a couple of other things not working properly with printing. Need someone to help me determine what exactly the problem is. Our software is LightSpeed (cloud based retail platform). They don't understand why it isn't working and suggested I contact you,

I have the Dutch and English dictionary installed and both show up in the context menu. But at random, only the Dutch dictionary is checked and the English one not. The Spellchecker then only uses the Dutch and I have to manually enable English again. This is really at random. For example on YouTube: I write a comment and English is checked. But another time on YouTube, English suddenly is not checked and have to enable it again in the context menu. So not a huge deal but still remarkable.

I have the "Always ask you where to save files" check box checked in settings, but it still just automatically saves everything to my downloads folder and I keep having to then cut and paste the file where I want it. I also have "Ask whether to open or save files" checked. Any idea how to fix this, so it will ask me where to save downloads?

Hi, Could you add a simple feature for autoscrolling pdf files in the built-in viewer ? It would be a great help when playing sheet music, etc.

Just: start/stop (with hotkeys) and scroll speed setting. It exists for chrome: Tab Scroller - Guitar Tab Auto Scroll, but I would prefer to use firefox of course.

 An update or two (maybe more?) ago, the plus sign with which we add shortcuts to the Firefox browser home page/new tab page disappeared, so now we can no longer add shortcuts on the home page/new tab page.  Please help.  I am running Firefox Version 129.0.2 (64-bit) on a Windows 11 Pro 64-bit if that makes any difference.  Thanks.

I wanted to disable the prefetching/preloaad pages and I found some entries on about:config that I had to change. Some of those are here on the official support site and some not, I found them on another forum.

Here's the list: network.prefetch-next (false)

network.dns.disablePrefetch (false)

network.dns.disablePrefetch.FromHTTPS (false)

network.http.speculative-parallel-limit (0)

browser.urlbar.speculativeConnect.enabled (false)

So, my questions are: 1. All these expect one "browser.urlbar.speculativeConnect.enabled" are available on android (nightly). Is there and i can't find it or it's indeed not available ??

2. Is the "network.http.speculative-parallel-limit" works only for http or it works and for https as well ?? Is there some setting to geti it to work for https if it doesn't ??

3. Is true that the "network.dns.disablePrefetch" and/or "network.dns.disablePrefetch.FromHTTPS" doesn't work (if i disable it) if i have turned on the dns over https ??

4. Are there other settings that I need to configurate or I'm good with these ??

I want to add my voice to the myriad complaints that have already been posted about the way Thunderbird has started threading messages!

I loathe threading!

Like many others, I do not understand why there is not a simple menu option, or something in the settings, that lets me turn OFF threading, permanently, in every folder of every account.

There are so many complaints about this that I just had to stop reading them after half an hour. I agree with most of them, so I won't reiterate every single point. I couldn't see any poster defending threading, and I couldn't see anything from a developer explaining why this is forced on users. Is it simply a matter of the developers themselves liking it, and not caring what the user base thinks? I respect the developers. I respect Linus Torvalds too, but I don't hesitate to call him out when he says something really dumb, which he does depressingly often. Being a developer gives you the right to control a product, but it does not make you right.

I am a monthly financial contributor to Thunderbird. I have used it for many years. But this is a deal-breaker for me. If a solution to this problem isn't forthcoming, *soon*, I will abandon ship. The withdrawal of my small monthly financial support won't hurt the team. I only mention it to establish that I have been a committed Thunderbird user who demonstrates that commitment in practical terms.

As the title says, how do I remove Templates and Archive folders? This post does not have an answer, and this extension does not work.

I have tried deleting the files from the folder and restarting, but they just get recreated: C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\profile\Mail\smart mailboxes

I have unsubscribed from the Archive folder in my accounts settings and deleted them from my mail server. Templates does not even exist on my mail server.

See attached picture, but these are annoying as I don't use them and they just take up space and are distracting.

Any ideas?

The vertical layout is basically fine for me, but what I'd really like is to be able to re-order the panes so that they're in the layout "Message List" - Message - Folders. The email itself is the most important bit, and I'd like to have it in the center of my view, instead of way off to the right :)

Is it possible to do this? My search skills have failed me so far.

Hey, I've recently started to use unified view, but I'm having a question regarding the folders since some of them show under the "inbox", while the others under all other folders. Do you know what influance whether the folder will go in one or the other ? I would like to have them below, but only some folders are showing up there.

Any clue?

Hi Why is it everytime I download something it has to open in the Firefox browser to view? And why is this happening when I scan to my computer? I want things saved to my computer, like documents and scanned information?

Long ago I developed muscle memory to type in the main part of a website domain and complete it with Ctrl-Enter in the address bar.

That supposedly adds the www. prefix at the beginning and .com at the end.

Works great except that it seems to append "http:// to the beginning. That often results in a warning that I'm trying to go to an insecure domain.

How can I modify this behavior to append "httpS://" to the beginning to avoid all of these warnings?
