IF I SEND AN EMAIL TO MYSELF, JUST ONE WORD AS A TEST, I HIT "SEND", AND IT IMMEDIATELY GOES AND ARRIVES, AS PER NORMAL. FINE. IF I SEND EXACTLY THE SAME ONE WORD EMAIL TEST TO, FOR EXAMPLE, MY WIFE, OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL RECIEPIENT, IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO EVEN SEND. I GET A PROGRESS BAR AS IF I WAS SENDING A LARGE RAW FILE OR SOMESUCH. LIKEWISE IF I SEND THE EMAIL TO ME AND CC IT TO ONE OTHER PERSON IT TAKES AGES TO SEND. ONLY AN EMAIL TO MYSSELF ALONE WORKS AT THE USUAL SPEED. MY BROADBAND SPEED IS FINE. I HAVE USED THUNDERBIRD FOR YEARS ON DIFFERENT LAPTOPS AND DIFFERENT COMPUTERS WITHOUT THIS ISSUE. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO, CAN YOU HELP?

I would like messages I identify as junk, or messages automatically identified as junk, go to the spam or junk folder. All junk messages remain the main inbox.

On the other hand, in my "spam" folder are many emails that have gotten sent there automatically, but none of them are identify as spam (by the fire symbol being lit up).

In settings, I have "junk settings, box check on new junk messages to:, other, spam.

When checking my email the 'Thunderbird' status bar says "downloading message' (as normal), but sometimes the message does not appear in my Inbox or any folder.

I'm using Thunderbird 115.12.0 on Linux Ubuntu. The email is downloaded via the POP protocol.

I have checked on the server and nothing is left there.

Using the Thunderbird search function on 'date' only, the e-mails actually in the inbox or folders show up, not the one purported to have been downloaded.

All of my folders are set to 'Unthreaded'.

Any ideas please?

Hi, Any time I'am connecting to email addresses ending by @akeonet.com (SFR compagny) on THUNDERBIRD, I'm receiving a message asking me my password imap.sfr.fr. Same to send a message exit server (STMP) smtp.sfr.fr.

Problem is the existing password is not working anymore with THUNDERBIRD but is still working with the webmail of SFR ????

I'am don't have such problem with addresses ending by @gmail !!!!!

Can you help to reconnect THUNDERBIRD to server SFR/ Neuf ?

Thunderbird crashed during a normal close (https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/3c0242b0-1a55-4eba-9f02-4a7bc0240126) and since then when I open Thunderbird, tabs appear for the messages I had open at the time of the crash, but they are all blank, and the tabs themselves are all empty. It is as if they are place-holders that are then never populated. I've attached a screen shot showing some of these tabs, with the crash report tab open and displayed.

About 1-2 months ago I reindexed folders due to mail apparently being missing and this resulted in a huge number of messages that had previously been dealt with becoming marked as unread again.

Ideally I would like the blank tabs to be reinstated and to be able to carry on working on my email from where I left off, but if this is not possible, I need to be able to identify the emails that were open in the tabs to be able to pick up the pieces. This is crucially important as I operate multiple accounts and it would be impossible for me to re-establish state any other way, especially in view of the earlier problem with email becoming marked as unread again. That would condemn me to needing to re-open many thousands of email items to identify those that may need action.

I renamed global-messages-db.sqlite which has been recreated and rebuilt but nothing has changed. The rebuilt file is significantly smaller than the original and if this implies that there has been data loss, I would rather reinstate the original file, if it is safe to do so.

My best guess is that the tabs are defined within history.sqlite and I have made a copy of this file but superficially it appears to contain a lot more than just tabs and it has been updated since the crash.

The most recent change I made to my Thunderbird configuration before the crash was the addition of the British-English dictionary.

The next most recent change to my Thunderbird configuration was the addition of a Proton Mail account using Proton Mail Bridge. I am accessing this account on behalf of someone who has sustained serious injuries and is unable to access it themselves. If this added account or Proton Mail Bridge is implicated in the crash in any way, I would prefer to remove the account and the Bridge software.

as stated in the title, my HDD failed the other day and on recovery, my Thunderbird seems to have failed too.

I know (sort of) that it is all driven by the Profile.ini file.

But everytime I relaunch TB (even after what I think is an uninstall and a reinstall) I am getting : "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

I would be happy enough to have a blank TB load up and I would reconfigure my various email accounts. but I cannot seem to do even that.

I know there is a trick to getting to a Thunderbird configurator....but I have forgotten what it is.

Where does TB "look" when it starts up? how would I control that?

The resulting calendar then works for one day but then disables itself and cannot be re-enabled (if I try to enable the calendar, it immediately disables itself again). I think this is happening because the calendar at the webcal link updates to a new file every day, so the specific link that Thunderbird resolves to becomes invalid on a daily basis. Other calendar applications that I use (like the iOS calendar app and the web interface for mailbox.org) do not resolve the link (they just leave it as webcal://github.com/othyn/go-calendar/releases/latest/download/gocal__community_day.ics) and they work fine, which is why I think the link resolution is causing the issue.

Is there a way to get this type of webcal link to work with Thunderbird?

I have been using Thunderbird for many years without any issues. I recently bought a laptop running Windows 11. On this machine, I have two accounts that cannot send emails via SMTP. What is puzzling is that I can retrieve emails through IMAP without any problems.

For another account I had to use STARTTLS to get it working. But on my Windows 10 machine, the same account is sending emails correctly with SSL/TLS.

Thunderbird is allowed through the Windows firewall and is on the antivirus whitelist.

I recently fixed an issue (connecting to Gmail) by allowing cookies, so it might be a simple fix like that.

Could someone help me, please?

Having followed the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/modern-authentication-methods-now-needed-to-continue-syncing-outlook-email-in-non-microsoft-email-apps-c5d65390-9676-4763-b41f-d7986499a90d to update the security settings on my outlook/hotmail email accounts Thunderbird no longer reliably saves/enters the passwords. The password is saved in settings as that is where I copy it from to enter manually but why is Thunderbird not doing the entry as previously. It is not every log in and not always the same account, but regularly one or the other will come up with "enter your credentials" Also occasionally the credentials screen will flash on screen and then disappear, not necessarily for the account I am using at the time but one of the others. When I am trying to access emails, a popup says to get certificate= imap.aussiebroadband.com.au:993 and confirm security exception. It will not allow emails to download

I recently installed Thunderbird on my mac. It seems to work well, except that it will not show my Archive folder (simply named "Archive") in the list of folders. I can see from my mail provider's web app that it is there and has my messages in it, and if I use search in thunderbird I can find messages in the Archive folder, but the Archive folder is completely missing from the list of folders. (I can see other folders, just not Archive.)

I did find how I can customize what folders Thunderbird will put Archived messages in, but that's not what I'm looking for. What I want is to be able to see the already existing folder with messages archived by other clients, e.g. the provider's web app.

keep getting "Login to server imap.mail.yahoo.com failed." I've tried everything thru Mozilla to change passwords and tried every password possible. It's been 2 weeks no access to my emails thru Thunderbird. I'm at a loss. what can I do to get into my Thunderbird account without dumpig it all to start over?

I converted my Outlook .pst file to an mbox file using SysTools PST converter When I try to import it into Thunderbird, it permits me to import only a .zip file from a previous backup, or a calendar file, or an address file. I need it to import the whole thing, especially the emails. How?

I came to open Thunderbird mail today. It was all set up as before. The Yahoo accounts were fine, and Cloud. But when I opened Google it gave me: "Authorization Error. Error 400: invalid_request You can't sign in to this app because it doesn't comply with Google's OAuth 2.0 policy for keeping apps secure. You can let the app developer know that this app doesn't comply with one or more Google validation rules."

I went to Google and was able op open google mail fine as a standalone M-Gmail (https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox)

How can I incorporate gmail into Thunderbird.?

This has happened to me on several occasions but today I was fed up with it and came here.

I completed an important message in Thunderbird (latest Windows desktop version) and saved the draft so I could read it over with the Darling Bride before sending it. When I opened the draft to go over it with her, the draft literally stopped in the middle of a word - and nothing after that had been saved!

Several carefully-worded paragraphs had simply vanished, even though I saved the draft when the message was complete. WHY is Thunderbird not saving entire messages when I finish them and hit SAVE??? One can imagine my anger and frustration of trying to recall, word for word, what I had written so I can rewrite it (and it's never as good as the original). I like the idea of Thunderbird and not using the big data-mining email apps out there... but this is ridiculous!

I've downloaded T-bird on two computers- a windows platform and a mac. It works find on the windows platform, but on the mac, while it appears to have populated from my email account (IMAP) with no issues, the search feature always returns nothing. On the windows computer, it works fine.

If relevant, it's open on both computers at the same time, but that doesn't seem to cause any issues, as they're pulling from a web-based email account.

Any ideas about how to make the search feature work on the mac? I search for words or names that I know are there, but the results are always empty. It's important, and I need to get it up and running quickly.
