Hi,

My computer was on during the week-end and when I came back home I noticed we had a couple of power outages. Computer restarted automatically (Win 10 22h2) and when I launched Firefox, it started as brand new with all my addons gone and none of the previous session restored (I had 4 Firefox browsers opened with each 20+ tabs opened).

I have tried looking at C:\Users\MYUSER\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles but found nothing of interest. Where is everything and how can I restore everything I had ?

I even tried Troubleshooting mode and downgrading to a former version of Firefox (126.0.1 64 bits).

Hi - I updated my Firefox / Mozilla browser yesterday and now all types of downloads are failing. PDFs and EXEs alike. I can't an error that says Failed.

And yet, when I use Chrome or Edge, the downloads work fine, soooo - not sure what is going on.

Hello, I am currently facing a problem. Yesterday, I passed a message from https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/setup/linux_build.html#building ---The official documentation for firefox on Linux compiles and installs a Linux system with aarch64 architecture on an Ubuntu host with x86 architecture. In fact, I only modified a file called ". mozconfig" and added the following information: "ac-add-options -- target=aarch64-linux-gnu mk-add-options MOZ-OBJDIR=@TOPSRCDIR@/obj-aarch64-linux mk-add-options AUTOCLOBBER=1". After compiling for a while, I obtained a folder called "obj-aarch64-linux". I used the command "file /obj-aarch64-linux/dist/bin/firefox" to check the properties of the knowability file as follows: " firefox: ELF 64 bit LSB shared object, ARM aarch64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter/lib/ld Linux arch64. so. 1, for GNU/Linux 3.7.0, BuildID [md5/uuid]=6b1bede035b0d0bc9930d0d4d88c3c14, with debug_info, not stripped ”. I think I have completed cross compilation, so I compressed the "obj-aarch64-linux" folder on a USB drive and copied it to my aarch64 architecture development board. And when I tried to launch the browser on the development board using the "./obj-aarch64-linux/dist/bin/firefox" command, I received an error message saying "Couldn't load XPCOM". It is worth mentioning that firefox is installed by default on my development board, but I need to compile and install its source code, and local compilation cannot be achieved on my development board, so I made the above operation. I restarted my Windows 11 laptop and got error message about user profile. Restarted again and looks like it was corrupted so deleted my my user profile and Firefox config and bookmarks are gone!

Still have all the files just a new user profile and the old one is gone?

Any help how to get Firefox bookmarks back would be much appreciated

I reinstalled Windows because my Windows got basically completely corrupted, I tried to log in to Firefox after reinstalling and it won't retrieve the bookmarks I had until 15 or 16 June, please help I can't get them back

I am running macOS 10.15.7 and Firefox won't upgrade past ESR v. 115 to the "regular" version 127.

Alternately, downloading the Firefox v. 127 installer and running won't update ESR v. 115 nor will it import bookmarks or data from the previous version ESR 115. Firefox v. 127 installs and starts as if I am a new user without any update or import option so that all previous settings, passwords, and data from ESR v. 115 are lost.

Is there a work-around for the upgrade to keep continuity, settings, bookmarks, and data when migrating to v. 127? Thanks!

I want to create a link in the bookmarks toolbar to easy check and update firefox In chrome I can do that with creating a bookmark to: chrome://settings/help In edge I can do that with creating a bookmark to: edge://settings/help I have search for, but cannot find the equivalent in firefox

I have chosen to not auto-update the browser because it interferes with my work. The precise setting is called "Allow Firefox to" "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" (screenshot attached). However, this setting is not honoured. Every month, the browser auto-updates and forces a browser restart for me to continue working (screenshot attached). For 126->127, there was in fact no notification to update and the update happened automatically in the background with a restart forced upon me. What's the point of having this setting if it's not going to be honoured?

So After today update i lost my session, all the tabs gone. All i can do i going through miles of history. No recent closed windows no session restore. Had it on my phone - managed to get one (no option to send all to device, only one by one) but the moment it synced gone there as well, apart the one i sent to device, of course. 127.0 64bit.

A firefox support article told me to reinstall firefox from snap on ubuntu, without mentioning anything about the profile, settings, and bookmarks. Now everything is gone.

Is there any way to recover my local profile?

I don't think it was synced properly with my other devices
