Several upgrades ago, I created message filters in Thunderbird to forward emails received from specific senders to other email accounts that needed to get copies. While running version 115.12.1 32bit on Win 10, I had need to delete one of the filters. When I went to Menu Bar > Tools > Message Filters the Message Filters window does NOT show ANY filters regardless of which account (I have 20 and checked each) is selected. I have also searched my HDD, located all copies of messageFilterRules.dat and opened ones that might be related to the account in question. ALL of the messageFilterRules.dat files that I checked had only 2 lines.... version="9" and logging="no", except for the problem account where I had turned on logging and the .dat file showed "yes". I also went to yahoo and checked to see if I might have created the filter on the server side. However, according to yahoo, they discontinued the forwarding filter in 2021, so it's not happening there. I need to know how to find the forwarding filters and edit them.

I have two problems tha occur when using the Unified Folder tree view.

1) The view of Local Folders that appears in the Unified Folders view (which I use and require) has lost all subofolders except for Outbox. In particular, it does not show Sent Copies which is folder I rely on.

However, Sent copies and several other subfolders for Local Folders are visible in the All Folders View. As a workaround, I am currently set the tree view to show both Unnified Folders and All Folders to have access to Sent Copies in local Folders...but this is a pain because it means I have to scroll far, far, down in an excessively long folder tree to find Local Folders/Sent copies.

So the solution I'm seeking to number 1: Restore Sent Copies, and other normal subfolders, to the view of Local Folders that appears in the tree when the view is set to Unified Folders. (Closing TB, Deleting the Smart Folders from the Mail folder and re-starting TB does not solve or have any effect on this problem. See my conjecture at end below).

Second problem is: I'm seeing a big handful of duplicate emails showing up in the Unified Folder Sent folder. I've cleared up most of this problem by deleting Smart Folders from the Mail Folder in the profile...but this repair fixes most, but still permits a handful of duplicates to remain, especially in the Sent folder. I have been running TB happily for maybe 10 years. Current setup is Windows 10 on a Lenovo desktop....my two mail accounts are Hotmail and Gmail.

I'd be very grateful for assistance with these problems.

My conjecture about these problems: They arose in past month while there were a lot of starts and stops and edits of settings for TB in past couple months in order to keep TB connecting to Hotmail. That finally got solved a week or so gao... but my conjecture is that some program crashes thar arose while editing TB sedttings may have contributed --at least to the missing subfolders n the main or Unified view of Local Folders.

I recently patched to Thunderbird 115.12.2, and discovered that threading has been turned on everywhere. Reading through the forum, I disabled threading by default in the config editor via mailnews.default_view_flags, and manually went through every folder setting "View" -> "Threads" -> "Ignore threads".

However, it appears that disabling threading is only honored for the inbox. Setting "ignore threading" on any other folder is ignored, and Thunderbird continues to thread.

For example here is the "Sent Mail" folder with "ignore threads" set (see screenshot) and it still displays with threading. Apparently, "ignore threading" only works with the inbox. I would like threading disabled on all folders, not just the inbox. If there was a switch to disable threading universally, that would be easiest for everyone who dislikes threading.

I would like messages I identify as junk, or messages automatically identified as junk, go to the spam or junk folder. All junk messages remain the main inbox.

On the other hand, in my "spam" folder are many emails that have gotten sent there automatically, but none of them are identify as spam (by the fire symbol being lit up).

In settings, I have "junk settings, box check on new junk messages to:, other, spam.

I have lost recent activity on home screen. There are blank tiles but nothing is being added.Hovering over tiles nothing happens. How do I get recent activity to appear again ?

I have a <something> that creates a daily sunrise and sunset entry time in my diary. It isn't an addon as far as I can see. It's not a prewritten list, but seems to create its entries dynamically when I first look ahead to a date- filling all the days with the correct sunrise and sunset times. The normal reoccurring event options don't appear when I delete one. i.e. doesn't offer me the option to delete all the events. I have no idea what I did to set this up ( it must have seemed a good idea at a time). I can not see any subscription that would account for it. I've checked all my accounts on my devices. Thunderbird/Betterbird on my main PCs and Outlook.com on my iPhone just in case I brought it in to TB that way ( which seems unlikely). Nothing. Clearly something is working away generating new sunrise and sunset times to display in TB. But I can't find any way to kill it off. I must have found a sunrise/sunset app that does this, but I have no idea how or where. Any suggestions. Either where it might be hiding in TB or where I can track it down and look for instructions.

Edit: Is there any kind of logfile that tracks such events being created?

I have a Samsung A14.....using an Android 14 operating system. I have Dark mode on at all times on my phone, however when I go online to any sites, it defaults to white screen. I have tried the settings on the phone and in the Firefox settings but it still shows up in white screen. On my old phone, I can get all websites in dark mode so I know it is possible, can anyone help me?? Thanks

Hello: t-bird 115.12.2 esr dev build. W11p laptop. Drag & drop (also paste) for putting a file inline for a msg do not function "any more," this has functionned in earlier versions. I can only attach the file. I have changed config ed settings mail.inline_attachments & mail.inline_attachments.text to true & restarted t-bird, to no effect (no inline). This is for a simple .rtf of 340 bytes (yes, very small). Please advise. Thank you.

I want to change "browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once" preference to true. So I do it in about:config page and if I reaccess this page in another tab within the session, then my value is being kept.

However, when I restart Firefox (thru "Exit" in "File" menu), all previous pages get restored and that preference is "false" again in the config after a new browser start.

I also made a user.js file with the following content: // user_pref("browser.startup.couldRestoreSession.count", 0); user_pref("browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once",true);

Nothing helps.

Please let me know how I can modify the config file.

I can edit my short cuts. One I have added the Name, and the URl, I also have the option to add a custom picture to the square icon for the shortcut. It seems obvious to want, as I do, to "drag and drop" a photo of my choice from my personal collection. For example, when there are multiple shortcuts for the email of each person in the family, their individual photo is a great identifier. As things are now it seems I can only add another URL. I tried to add the URL from a family members Facebook page but it would not accept the link. Can some techno whizzz out there not make "drag and drop" an option? It would be REALLY useful for us all to have the photo of our choice, either a family person where appropriate, or a pet or whatever, or a friend. Thanks. Hi, got a problem for the last several days - on each visited site Firefox (my guess) is launching a pop up about add-ons for Ad Blocks tham I am using were updated with official national filters for Polish market.

This is super annoying and the pop-up jumps on almost every new site bieng visited (it is visible for ca. 5 seconds). Is there any way to stop it? How can I dissable this feature?

after creating a new profile, and copying everything in the root directory to the new profile, including search.json.mozlz4, the default search engine setting does not get transferred over and is still set to google

I'd like to use my NAS download application to handle magnet links. How can I do that with Firefox?

For mailto: links, you can specify web apps like GMail, same for e.g. IRC. However, for magnet: links, this is not possible, only local applications are supported. I even got an error message by the web application offering to configure this, saying the browser didn't support configuring this protocol.

Hi all, I need to solve a problem that is a bit annoying. I am on ubuntu 22.04 and using SNAP Firefox 127.0 (64-bit).

When I am prompted to select a file, for example to upload an image, the file picker is shown. However the thumbnails are so small(and right now I only see the image name) that I cannot see what's the content of the image. I managed to show a preview on the right of the single selected image by modifying an option in about:config. However it is still a pain to find the image I am searching for when I have a long list of images. Is there any way to enable zoom on the list of thumbnails so that I can preview the contents of the images? I don't understand why there is no option to customize the display of the file list. In the attached image I show how it looks right now.

My many message filters were lost in updating to 115, and it has taken much time to reconstruct the new layout to be usable. If this was AI generated, it is a poor outcome.
