Since update to ver 128.1.0esr the "new subfolder" feature does not work (does not show window to name new folder). I have many subfolders and I rely on them heavily. I tried restarting Thunderbird, then Windows. I ran in debug mode with no success. I downloaded and installed 128.2.0esr again. No change.

Is it possible to go back to the earlier version? Which is? Thanks, Frederick

I am baffled. Why isn't Thunderbird an option in the Windows 11 context menu, "send to"? Said another way, when I click "share" Thunderbird is not an option. Can it be fixed? If so, how? I am surprised there I found nothing in my Google searches. Your help will be greatly appreciated. John

I recently came across the Thunderbird versions are being mentioned as "esr".

In 115.0 version, I see "esr" is added from the 115.10.2esr to 115.14.0esr, the latest version. I also do not see any change in the installers provided. I would like to understand what is the difference between the previous versions and the versions with "esr"?

In 128.0 version, I can see only 128.0.1esr and 128.1.0esr. Is there no normal updates? Now only esr is supproted?

I had version 115.0 installed but I was able to upgrade to 128.1.0esr without any issue. Is this supported?

Email accounts, transfer hosts

I am in the process of moving hosting and email from an Outlook-based host to a new domain host. The existing email accounts will be re-created on the new host. I cannot back or export the emails from the current domain host so have added them to my existing Thunderbird install, plan on exporting or backing them up from there then exporting / importing them to the new host.

From Thunderbird, I ran File -> Offline -> Download/Sync and selected just the email accounts (and folders) I need to transfer then ran the tool. Now I am not sure where those emails are saved. From the default profile folder I See multiple sub-folders blocklists, crashes, extensions, imapmail etc - 31 in all. Which files should I be looking for to export ONLY the 2 email accounts of interest and not ALL the email accounts I have in Thunderbird?

Hello. Thuderbird has been acting strangely for a few days, lots of Not Responding messages and then it sorts itself out. But now, when I open an ordinary e-mail, it opens up in a Send window! With the message which you will find in the attached Image. My version = 128.1.1 esr (64 bit) Lenovo Laptop Windows 10 Grateful for any help folks.

Hello, I would like to backup my whole Thunderbird profile every day (or at least every week) automatic, and I didn't find any workful solution for it. The problem is, that I have only POP3 protocol and Inbox file brakes, if there is any new message while copying. Unfortunately, I can't move my mail to IMAP, it's not a variant. Automatic closing Thunderbird (like in crontab killing process) before backup is not a variant either, because it's not safe. Manual closing Thunderbird would solve my problem, but, as I said, I need to do it automatic). For example, If I am absent for a few weeks, backup should continue working fine. If anyone have already found working solution for it?

P.S. ImportExportTools NG "Automatic backup" is not automatic, you need to close Thunderbird manually every day for this to work.

Deleting a Thunderbird profile (including "remove message data") on one computer does NOT affect a profile with the same account name on another. Both are IMAP and are not synced to each other.

I need to completely uninstall Tbird and its emails from an old computer without impacting the same profile on a newer computer.

After adding inserted the password of a new account to Thunderbird's main one for adding the new account to the app, the procedure stops showing a question with no chance to continue. The question is "Consent app to access data?" and it is followed by a long list of details with no options for going on. How can I overcome the problem?

I have moved from Mailbird to Thunderbird, a pat on my back I am really satisfied. I use POP3 so all my emails are downloaded to my computer. I keep two years of incoming and sent emails in Local Folders as follows: email account 1 year 2023 > Folders and subfolders organized per topic year 2022 > Folders and subfolders organized per topic The same for three other accounts. These occupy a lot of disk space, so I want to archive each email account with its folders and subfolders and move them to an external drive. Is this possible with Thunderbird? At one time I had a version of Thunderbird that would allow me to bring in my Outlook emails. Now, I can't find it. And when I try to use version 102 or 115 it keeps updating to 128.1. Mozilla thinks I'm on some kind of release channel - whatever that is! So, am I no longer going to be able to get those Outlook emails? Thanks.

Yesterday was sending and receiving email to Microsoft forum. Today Thunderbird can't do either. Tbird on on Linux mint 17.3. Never had this problem before. Lost almost all Inbox entries and Sent files. and more in the left panel. Tbird version 60.6.1 64 bit. Email mail contacts OK. What should I do? Please help
