Nord keeps telling me that Mozilla Thunderbird Version 128.0.1 Severity level : High. Exploiting this vulnerability is relatively straight forward for attackers. They may gain unauthorized access to your data or cause system disruptions. Risk mitigation is needed. This message was also for the latest 115 version. Then I updated to 128 and it has the same problem

I had about 170 notes in my Notes APP on my iphone. I didn't know that there was an email sent for each to my email folder. I had a lot of emails in my Inbox, so I started deleting them. Since I didn't know the emails from my Notes APP were in there, they were deleted. After doing a lot of looking I finally found the Notes in the Trash folder. For some reason they have now disappeared from my Trash folder. There were a lot and they looked different than normal emails. I know I didn't delete them on purpose or by accident. I don't know where they are. Do you have any idea if they can be found anywhere? I had notes in there going back ten years. I just don't understand why they would disappear. I don't know when this happened, though. It could have been one to two weeks ago. Thank you, Nancy

Specs: TB 115.14.0 Win 10 22H2 Windows Defender FIOS internet Gmail accounts via POP3

Starting a couple of TB updates back, my system has been slow downloading and opening emails from gmail accounts via POP3. When I check for new messages, it starts downloading instantly, but then there can be a pause with the Windows hourglass shown for ~5-10 sec before downloading resumes.

When I click a new email in any of my inboxes, it opens a fully formatted TB page with the To/From/Subject all shown correctly, but the message content area is blank white. May take up to ~10 sec to display the message content. Doesn't matter if the content is plain text or includes images or with/without attachments. Same thing can happen with emails previously received and read.

Don't think this is an ISP issue because Firefox 129.0 isn't having delays opening web pages.

No errors reported by: chkdsk /r on both boot SSD and internal data HDD DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth sfc /scannow

For the past week or two, TB only downloads 3 or 4 (never more than 4) messages at a time from my Gmail. Now, instead of just starting TB and it downloading all new messages, I have to click Get Messages multiple times to retrieve everything. I have seen similar questions here and the answers have all been variations of blaming the user. So: a) I have not changed any settings. b) It used to download all available messages, whether when TB started up or when I clicked Get Messages. c) Just now on starting TB, it took 6 clicks to retrieve 20 message. They are all text, no attachments, so the total size would be in KB, not MB. d) Using Speedtest, my connection speed is over 300 MB/second so it isn't a connection speed limit on my side. And I doubt it is a speed limitation on Gmail's side.

With all of that in mind, I would appreciate any suggestions of what could be causing the problem and what the fix might be.

Hi, I've enjoyed using Thunderbird calander for years; now using 128.1.0esr (64-bit), the GB / UK version; but something's wrong now. In calander I've been able to use the search bar at the top of the page for searching through the whole of the calander. It's been really useful, checking when I last had appointments at the dentist, opticians etc. so I can plan when I need to book my next visit. I've been able to search through the time lines of various events, very useful for seeing the history of something I want to check. Now I can't do that. I miss it very much. It was quite possibly the main feature of the calanders usefulness for me. The search bar is still there, but now I see a box with lot's of functions to restrict the calanders searching. I don't know if it was there before; I certainly never used it. The best option I can see to search only covers the calanders month or current view. All the other options want you to look forward. I don't want to look forwards. I want to look back. All the way back to when I first started putting enteries into the calander. Those historical entries are really important to me. How can I research things like when I moved house, and I moved years ago, but can't recall when, which is why I had a searchable calander. Have I done something wrong to prevent the historical searching? I've tried looking at all the options settings that I could turn on or off, but can't see anything that will restore the search bar to it's former self. Have I missed something? Can you tell me how to get the full search functionality back please? I'm really hoping that it's not the result of an upgrade to 'improve' calander. If it is, please restore the search function asap. As it stands calander is no longer fit for my purpose. Please help. Many thanks, Jerry.

I am using Thunderbird on Windows 11 and I have foolishly allowed it to update itself to release 128.1.0.esr without checking the bug reports first. Now it turns out that this release removed the possibility to search the calendar for past events, which is absolutely essential for me. There is a Bugzilla entry for this but it is bogged down in discussions about who needs which date ranges to search in and how many instances to show for recurring events, so I don't expect a solution any time soon. How can I revert Thunderbird to the last release which still has that functionality? I have regular backups of my userprofile folder in case it helps.

'bold text'bold textOn 6/24, Juno Security <security@support.juno.com> sent me an email that Thunderbird downloaded that my account had been compromised, & I needed to reset my password. I chanced my password in Juno & put that same password into Thunderbird [I think] Since then I have needed to use that new password to open the Thunderbird program, but Thunderbird won't download email from my Juno popmail to Thunderbird. I've had Thunderbird on my Windows 8 computer which has been running just fine until a recent update. It's now so slow to load I'm going to have to either go back to an earlier rev, or load another email client. I've got 128.1.0esr installed. I've got a 2.6 G processer w/ 8 GB of Ram. Ideas to resolve this problem would be appreciated.

Hi folks,

We have all of our users running Thunderbird on Azure Remote Desktop (Windows 11). With the release of 128.1.0 we're seeing all of users stuck in an update loop where Thunderbird will update to 128.1.0 esr but as soon as the user signs off, it reverts to 128.0.1 esr. When they sign back in, users get a message that their profile is outdated and must be recreated.

What's going on?

Recently, Thunderbird has stopped marking messages as read once I open a new message & read it. It stays highlighted as if the message still hasn't been read. I have to manually mark it read by using the M key. It does this in Troubleshooting mode or regular mode. HOw can I fix this?

Have Thunderbird linked with outlook. Opening Thunderbird a request for password box appears. Have read Thunderbird description of what to do and why it has started beginning of year. Changed normal password to Oauth2 both in Thunderbird and Outlook as directed, plus verified all other necessary server inputs. A dialogue box appears stating outlook does not support 0auth2 authentication method, so have to revert Thunderbird to normal password and then back to having to enter password to open TB which most often will not open. Frustrating.

Please advise a solution.

Hi, new here! Using TB 128 on win 11. Below the mini calendar in the today pane I have a list of events showing. I also have events entered for future and previous months. When I click on one of the arrows next the month, the month switches over but the events list does not. E.g., the month shows October and the events list still shows August. Is that how the calendar is supposed to work?

Questions re Email Inbox and Reply window:

1) I can't find a list here showing the Inbox icons and what they mean, specifically this one. I can't delete it, nor do I see anything in the inbox list of column indicators that it might be. I'd like to know what it's for and if/how it can be removed.

2) I want to have more space for the message pane; the only way to do this is to have a smaller font size for the email List pane. I don't see where I can change this. Is it possible to decrease this font size? I've tried but haven't t been able to locate info on this website.)

3) Reply font: I keep changing it to my Preference, but it keeps going back to a default.

Also, find it annoying that I can't select a specific font SIZE. I've never seen a Windows desktop software of ANY kind, not just email, which doesn't give have choice of font size as well as the font itself. Is there a suggestion area on this website?

Hello, I have three issues with my Sent items / Sent folder. Issue 1: Sent emails from 7/30/21 to 1/15/24 are missing. Issue 2: Sent emails from 1/15/24 to 8/7/24 are missing. Issue 3: When clicking to open a sent email from yesterday or older, the From and Subject will be blank and the Content will be displayed as: --------------090809000502050303050709—

After googling for help, I went to Edit / Folder Properties / Repair Folder. That did not help. If I “search” for a missing email, it will be listed in the results, but when I click to open, “No message found”. Thank you.
