I recently downloaded and installed Thunderbird but forgot my primary password. Have tried the solutions available at the Mozilla website with no luck. I have also deleted the program and my Mozilla account, and started over from scratch. Still no luck.

Hello hi ya' doin',

I'm running Thunderbird 115.7.0 IMAP on a laptop with Win10Home. I also have an iPhone and iPad.

Normally when I open Thunderbird on the laptop it asks for my password, even before I check/send mail. A few days ago it stopped asking for the password, and will check for mail without asking for the password. Sending mail still asks for the password. Mail sends/receives on all devices and on webmail.

How do I get Thunderbird to prompt me for my password when I open the program, or at least before I check for mail?

This just started happening when my old cert expired. What could be going wrong?

Mac OS Sonoma, MacbookPro 2018. Cannot save passwords, cannot set master password. Works fine on 3 other machines, cannot work on this one, I need this to work. I have tried everything including re-installation. I have deleted various old files per suggestions, nothing works. If I enter my email password with checking the checkbox to save it, everything works fine. If I check the "save in password manager" it fails and the email fails. a master password is not set and nothing I have tried will let me set one. It's making me crazy.

Many years ago with Virgin Media and Thunderbird I set up original e-mail of alexam@blueyomder.co.uk, then added alexamimages@yahoo.com for photography then badgerwoodcrafters@yahoo.com for my woodwork hobby, but now I am 83 I only wish to use my e-mail of malcolm.alexander101@gmail.com. I thought I had redirected the other e-mails to my gmail account, but it does not seem to work correctly or only intermitantly and I need some help please, as I am unable t understand what is needed.

Have an address list whose users all have accepted pgp keys loaded in OpenPGP Manager that appear to meet all requirements, including email addresses in the key user IDs that match target addresses.

When messages are sent to the individual users, Thunderbird encrypts successfully using these keys without issue. However, when a message is prepared to go to a list, OpenPGP Key Assistant claims "No key available." This occurs even if the list is reduced to a single, viable email address with corresponding pgp public key.

What have I misconfigured or misunderstood? Please see screen capture.

I have just bought a new computer and have downloaded Thunderbird for my emails. I have 3 email accounts. I have lost my passwords for these accounts. When I look on my old computer in Thunderbird I go to password manager and there are no saved passwords for me to get. It's like I have to set up thunderbird all over again. I transferred from the old thunderbird to the new one and nothing happened. I AM A NOVICE AT THIS. No accounts etc etc no passwords. I am desperate. Yes I used an external drive to put the thunderbird stuff on the new computer,
