Reset/Restore Canvas Permission Prompt

When attempting to log-in to a website (Credit Karma) I have previously visited many times with FireFox, I was presented with something new - something I eventually have come to believe is the Canvas Permission Prompt, as described here:

 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-protection-against-fingerprinting

Not knowing what the prompt wanted from me, I foolishly clicked on the "Don't Allow" button feeling that was the safest thing to do, but realized only as I was clicking the button that the "Always remember my decision" checkbox was default-checked. And as I feared, now whenever I go to the site login page, I am unable to click into the User Name or Password boxes to fill-in my info and nor can I click on the "Log In" button. All other links on the page still seem to work, though.

I have attempted these possible fixes in the about:config list: 1. privacy.resistFingerprinting - I had previously set this to True as per suggestions from several YouTube posters expounding their opinions on safety and security and have been operating with this setting for many months. I tried setting it back to its default False state and restarting FireFox, but the problem still persists. 2. privacy.resistFingerprinting.autoDeclineNoUserInputCanvasPrompts and

privacy.resistFingerprinting.randomDataOnCanvasExtract - These two looked interesting because of the "Canvas" text and I found them to be set to their default True values since the installation of FireFox. I have individually set them each to False followed by a FireFox restart, but still the problem persists.

So how do I get the Canvas Permission Prompt to be reset/restored so I can use the login page to get to my account.

Thx

I am trying to run firefox unofficially run a windows vista Virtual Machine using the Windows Vista Extended Kernel, but is says the the dll "api-ms-win-core-sysinfo-l1-1-0.dll" is missing. It did this a couple of times and i was able to copy over all other dlls, but after placing this one in Windows,System32,Program Files/Mozilla Firefox and SysWOW64 and re-registering it, it still gives me an error. Could you please provide the location of the required dll since it can't find it.

The “find the next” & “find the previous” icons are invisible when I tried to search some words in a PDF with the build-in PDF viewer.

The icons are actually still there, and worked well when I clicked them, but just being invisible as the image shown.

Does anyone know what happened, and how to fix it?

Thanks a lot.

Whenever I open Firefox on my Windows 11 laptop, a notification panel appears bottom right highlighting a news article from cordbusters.co.uk. I don't remember subscribing to this service and I can't turn it off. I can ignore it, and it times out after a few seconds. I checked addons and extensions but searching for 'cordbuster' in Settings gives no results. Running an internet search for cordbuster gives results for other sites quoting cordbuster but nothing suggesting a service provision. I am a long-term user of Firefox on phone and laptop.

For the last month or so I have had problems with Firefox using too much CPU, too much memory. This is not long after I have restarted. It soon gets so bad that there is a 3-6 second delay in anything I do. At this point I am going to have to stop using FF as it is too disruptive. Cannot place any other system changes.

Hello,

When I close Firefox after the last update (current installed version: 112.0 x64 Windows 10), Firefox creates almost 200 processes (in the latest case 177), each using from 17 MB to 65 MB RAM (except one that is using over 200 MB - I guess the main one) using 100% CPU for about half a minute, and in that my PC is unusable - everything hangs. It takes a bit more time to close all of them.

Any ideas what could be wrong and how to fix it?

Thank you.

To whom it may concern, When I use Firefox I have issues all the time with popups like chat windows or under yahoo finance I persistently cannot open the conversation link on a stock; And the inability to open website content completely when selecting something within the website. I am about to stop using Firefox because when I use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome I never have these problems. I have even seen that many insurance Co's websites specifically say to use those other browsers and not Firefox. I have tried to adjust security settings without any success.

Thank you for your time in this matter.

I have no audio on firefox. I have audio in other programs but not firefox. I have tried different websites, and yes I did double check to make sure the website was not muted, and still nothing. I have cleared the cookies, and history. I have restarted firefox. The recommenced performance settings, which in my search for answers says should be turned off if you don't have audio in firefox, is already turned off. I had this problem before and forget how I solved it but it seems firefox just seems to randomly shut off the sound.

Firefox is running 23-30 apps in the background and consuming about 30% of CPU simply when it is open. Is this legit or is something else going on? Reduce number of apps running in the background so that less CPU bandwidth is utilized.
