I have been using Thunderbird for many years and have previously updated without problem. But upon updating to version 128.0.1esr I suddenly couldn't see my folders or emails (see attached image). However, if I search for an email I will get a list containing the relevant emails, but as soon as I click on an email in the list I go back to the blank screen like at login with no folders or emails.

I have trawled through related fixes and have tried clearing the startup cache, restart and reinstall Thunderbird but nothing helped .

This evening, Thunderbird has updated to the new version (can't see where the version number is held, unfortunately). Whenever I try to download new emails, I now get the message "Error with account [email address]. Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop3.iomartcloud.com responded: Mate, the command must be one of CAPA, USER, PASS or QUIT." Mails are still accessible through the mail client on my phone and through webmail, just not through Thunderbird.

I update my Thunderbird yesterday afternoon to the newest version. Now when I click my icon to launch it it launches a second default gear icon with the hover text reading "thunderbird-esr". I purged the install and reinstalled with the same issue. I'm using Pop!_OS on Wayland if that helps.

Have no clue what I am doing. I have downloaded Thunderbird so I can access my bt internet emails (webmail is having issues)and have fallen at the first hurdle! I need someone to put in easy words what I am to do please. I have inputted my email address and password and it says unable to log in at server.

Hello, I encountered an error when trying to install the extension. I've never encountered anything like this before

On Windows 10 after update from TB 115 to 128esr it started work very slow. I've did folder repairment and after that content of folder for past half year or a bit more disappeared. I was looking for many solutions for this but some of them didn't work or were not available.

I have an IMAP email account with Telstra (Bigpond). SSL/TLS is set for Thunderbird account server and smtp. I have looked through lots of web messages without finding one on topic.

Via web browser I can connect to my Bigpond (Telstra) email without issue.

My Bigpond email will also not connect to Outlook, which was provided by my work which I left 3 weeks ago and this was happening on both my laptop and my mobile phone. Before August 2023, there was no problem and I could access my private Bigpond email account on both laptop and phone as added account in Outlook. One day in August 2023, Outlook started not connecting to my Bigpond email account both on my laptop and my phone. Telstra (Bigpond) told me last year that it was a Microsoft issue. Microsoft has denied this.

The fact that the same problem is happening when I want to add my Bigpond account to Thunderbird suggests it is not a problem with the email client (Outlook or Thunderbird) but either a Telstra or a local programme issue. I have Norton Antivirus, but I cannot see anything in that interfering with the email server connection.

I have tried re-setting my Bigpond webmail password and re-starting multiple times - no joy!

One of my desktop computers with Windows 10 updated to version 128 64 bit.

But my newer desktop computer with Windows 11 updated to version 128 32 bit.

Why would Thunderbird update my newer 64 bit computer with your 32 bit version?

Makes no sense.

Looks like Thunderbird never updated their software to be able to hide select folders which I have been asking for over a year. Even the old Windows Live Mail had this feature form 2011.
