I'm setting up a new Thunderbird installation and email accounts. The account setup fails because it cannot sign into the server. I believe the issue is between the account ID and the email address. They are different. The server requires an account login in the form of wxyz in order to access email in the form of a@bc.de. The account ID password is the same as the email address password. I've tried using wxyz in the account and get smtp connect failure. If I use a@bc.de in the account I get the same failure. This is a working email account that I've had for 30 years. I've tried imap as well as pop3. Both fail the same way.

Hello! After being away from my PC for a few days I tried to open firefox and got this error:

'Firefox is al actief, maar reageert niet. Het oude Firefox-proces moet worden afgesloten om een nieuw venster te openen' aka 'Firefox is already running but not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window'

I deleted the application in windows settings and then redownloaded it. The problem persists. What can I do?

I was forced to update my email password by my provider (another story). I use a POP email account, so then needed to update the password in my Thunderbird account settings. But the previously stored accounts and saved password line had disappeared. How do I re-add my POP account with its new password to the saved passwords, or maybe create a new POP account and relink to everything listed in Local Folders (this latter option is not my preference?

Thunderbird 128.1.1esr will not work with Titanhost POP boxes.

Keep getting ; "mate the command must be one of CAPA,USER,PASS or QUIT"

After spending hours on this TITAN eventually sent the following response to:

"The error happens on the latest version of Thunderbird and only on the POP account. It looks like Thunderbird changed the way it authenticates POP accounts on the latest Thunderbird. There is no fix at the moment other than downgrading the Thunderbird version on the PC or converting your POP mailbox to IMAP."


They still seem to not notice I'm using Sonoma 14.6.1 (23G93)
