Windows 10, Thunderbird 128.1.0esr (64-bit)

I lost an SSD, from which most data was recovered in some form or another. The original profile is recovered, and original files of type .mozmsgs, .sbd, .msf, plus others, matching original local folder structure. Files in the folder types have the structure as if you looked at individuals in the Thunder profile dir on a working copy of Thunderbird.. something like this header:

My current Thunderbird will not open these files, nor is there an option to import, unless I want to import the entire profile, which I am reluctant to do at this stage. If this action appended to or added to my current Thunderbird, I think I could be ok with that.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello, I'm Christian. I am still facing issues changing my Thunderbird into an IMAP account, for following reasons: -exporting the existing is OK -creating the IMAP account is OK -Reimporting the messages from previous POP3 account difficult, because: -when using the import fonction, a local folder is being created with a directory three that looks liked the previous Dir structure I had previously. But transfering the folder and files proves difficult, the copy/paste function does not work properly so I can't just click and drag. My thunderbird folder is approx. 20g, could that be the reason? Furthermore, I cannot delete the previous POP3 account or the local folders. Any idea why? I actually do have a thunderbird account (POP3) comprises of 4 differents email addresses, I can delete 3, but not the last one as it appears to be the default one. There are many answers to the question of how to disable message threading. All are from earlier versions than mine, which is 115.7.0 -- as witnessed: Sorry! 0 results found for ‘disable threading in version 115.7.0’ for ‘Thunderbird'

Thunderbird seems to have so many minor changes and alterations in the recent past, that basic usability is affected. Not a good thing.

Once before, a few years ago, Thunderbird got so out of control that I had to go to a different mail client. Are we back to that?

Thunderbird automatically updated to v128 earlier this week after I went to Help - About Thunderbird to check that it had updated to v115.14.

Everything seemed okay immediately after the update, but when I started Thunderbird the next day it was very unresponsive. Checking the Activity Manager showed that Thunderbird was indexing messages, but that this was happening very slowly. I let Thunderbird do its thing that day in the hope that things would settle down.

The next day when I started Thunderbird things were still bad. I tried Rebuilding the Global Database but when I restarted Thunderbird it was just as bad, if not worse.

I then turned off indexing in the Thunderbird settings and Thunderbird is now responsive and back to normal.

Is anyone else seeing anything like this? Any suggestions to fix the problem?

I am a long time Thunderbird user so my profile is very large with a lot of accounts, and has been through a lot of Thunderbird versions, so it is potentially more complicated than normal.

Thunderbird version is currently 128.1.0esr (32-bit).

I'm experiencing an issue with Thunderbird that started unexpectedly. Whenever I try to access my email, I get a warning message saying that "The site certificate is not valid for this server. Someone may be trying to impersonate the server. It is not recommended to proceed."

I'm not sure why this error has suddenly appeared, as everything was working fine before. I haven’t made any changes to my email settings or installed new software recently. Has anyone else encountered this issue or knows how to resolve it?

I recently had to re-install Thunderbird for technical reasons. I lost all my saved emails (in folders) but they are still on the server's website - Bigpond. I have contacted Bigpond but they state it is not possible to export them to my email account. Can you please help with a solution? Thanks Chris

I followed a prompt to compact the data in my Thunderbird email folders. After I did so, I found that the content of all the emails I sent after 4-16-22 was missing. The list of the sent emails was still there but the message box was blank for all those emails. I know who an email was sent to but not what was in the email. This was on my laptop. Surprisingly, these emails did not disappear from Thunderbird on my desktop computer. How can I recapture the sent emails in my laptop?

Greetings ; Easy way to block emails by Address? I was hoping I could just Copy offending emails to Junk Folder . Or just Copy offending emails to "Block Emails Folder" . Unfortunately no-go...

I want to restore a Local Folder to a newly installed Thunderbird. I have a complete copy of the Local Folder and want to copy it into the Mail directory (as it was previously). I then want to have it included in the programs index. Will this approach work if I re index the entire program which should pick up these messages and then display them under the categories that are spelled out for the Local Folder? Any help would be appreciated ... Robert

TBird 128.1.0esr (64-bit) and Windows 11

Using Tbird with an imap server and gmail email, calendar and contacts.

Not having any problems with email or the calendar but contacts do not seem to be synching. I have only just noticed this and it appears to be since the Nebula 128 update

I tried Add CardDAV Address book but I get the following the "All address books for the specified account have already been added" message. (Screen capture attached.)

I have seen some responses that imply it should all be automatic. What am I missing?

Should I continue with the above version or somehow install the 128 non-beta version? I've been on the Beta channel for years but some have said it's risky. Your opinion, and if you think I should switch, how do I do it?

With the new 128 version, in the In box, when you right click on the new email title and the drop box opens up, why does it say "move to trash again." shouldn't it just say "move to trash"? thanks

my personal e-mail is @msn.com; been using it with Thunderbird for years, but lately it asks continually for my password and tells me login (imap/outlook) has failed. It's been getting more frequent and today after multiple attempts, and restarting my computer it still didn't work. I am able to use my password to sign into my msn.com account and see the e-mails using the mozilla browser (or chrome) but can't sign on at Thunderbird. I have another e-mail address in Thunderbird (at my own domain) and there have been no issues with that address. However, if I am looking at my personal/msn e-mails, then go to the other inbox and return to the msn inbox I am usually asked (repeatedly) for the msn password and login fails. The problem started a couple of weeks ago and has grown progressively worse/more frequent. Any ideas on what happened/changed and what I can do?

Hallo, ich habe Windows 11 neu installiert, nun habe ich das Problem, das angeblich mein Mail Passwort nicht stimmt. Ich habe schon alles ausprobiert, die korrekten Passwörter von T-Online eingebeben, die Passwörter geändert, nichts hilft. Ich habe auch schon Thunderbird neu installiert, doch alles ohne Erfolg. Könntet ihr mir bitte weiterhelfen, das ich dieses wundervolle Programm wieder nutzen kann?
