When I start up my Windows 10 laptop, Thunderbird tries to connect to my Hotmail email account, but it can no longer make the connection to the Outlook imap server (imap-mail.outlook.com) apparently because my password is no longer accepted. I just get the message box "Login to server imap-mail.outlook.com with username neil.january@hotmail.com failed - enter new password". There is no new password. I have not changed the password, and Thunderbird was connecting without trouble until a few days ago. What should I do?

Emails still get through to my Android phone with no trouble.

Requesting for your assistance in the process of downloading the emails from Google workspace to Thunderbird. Per our testing, only those unread messages are being downloaded to Thunderbird but in the actual transfer, it seems all emails are being downloaded. Due to the huge file, at some point, it hangs and we're not sure which emails are not transferred yet.

Hello, Please tell me, according to this code, on which date should the email be sorted for received in the Date column: August 6th or June 8th? The email was sent on August 6th, but TB sorted it into the Date column on June 8th? Why? Where is the problem?

Tbird 128.1.0esr (64-bit), Windows 10 64 bit

When forwarding an email, the background colour of the forwarded email is used for the background colour of my explanatory email above the forward so this changes from white to the background colour of the forwarded email. It also changes the indent to jam new text in my email against the page edge. This also happens in troubleshooting mode.

This does not happen with a reply.

and I immediately began scrambling to get it back. I found this somewhere: "Don't Delete Files" is the preferred option because it saves the old profile's folder and allows you to recover the files to a new profile. So that gave me hope because that's what I had clicked (unfortunately, it was right before I saw the cancel button over on the right). That's what I get for being in a hurry I guess.

Anyhow, after 4 days of reading support forums and tons of trial and error, I'm no closer to restoring that profile than when I first started (although I've learned a lot about what does NOT work).

Btw, both my profiles have always been set up as POP3 at Gmail, although if I ever get this current problem sorted out I'll be shopping for a different POP3 provider. But that's another story.

I know how to create a new profile with Profile Manager. And I found the Profiles folders under both Thunderbird folder as well as ThunderbirdOLD folder. Have I been on the right track so far?

In the Thunderbird/Profiles folder, I don't see a folder with the deleted profile name (except the new ones (duds) I've since created ). On the other hand, I don't see the name of the profile that I did NOT delete either, but somehow it seems to be working just fine. Maybe it's the ".default" folder or ".default-release" folder? I've only ever had two profiles and I may have created the non-deleted profile first, so did that one end up being named .default? -shrug- I have no clue.

Anyhow, in the ThunderbirdOLD/Profiles folder, I also see ".default" as well as ".default-release" folders too. But in addition, I'm seeing a ".deletedprofile" named folder. So that's where I originally thought my several dozen email folders with several thousand emails and Address Book etc are hiding. But I've copied all the above mentioned folders into the several new Profiles I've created, on a trial and error basis but so far..... no luck. All I get when I open one is the new set up screen to set up a new pop3 account.... which I can do, but that's just starting from scratch without any of my saved data. I'm running out of ideas.

Where am I going wrong?

Since Thunderbird was last updated on the 5th August, the page to compose a new email, no longer has a "send" or "attach" tab. I cannot now send any emails through Thunderbird. I have requested technical support twice, however, the only response has been an automated message saying someone will get back to me. That has not happened. I am only able to send any emails via our internet provider's website, which is Slingshot.co.nz.

I have numerous mailing lists in my address book. Every time I move an email address from "All Address Books' to a mailing list, it disappears from the mailing list it is in.

For example: 2 Mailing List: Monday Group & Tuesday Group. I want Johndoe@abc.com in both lists. I 'drag & drop' the Johndoe@abc.com to the Monday Group. When I 'drag & drop' it to the Tuesday Group, it disappears from the Monday Group. How I add the an email address to both the Monday Group & the Tuesday Group?

Thanks.

I used to receive my emails directly to my computer using Thunderbird. Then my service provider, Verizon, sold the email service to AOL and over night this convenience became a thing of the past. To get my emails now I have to login to AOL, suffer through unwanted verification challenges, security promotions, ads, and news feeds, before accessing my emails. It is so tiresome I only check for emails about once a month. How do I get my emails directed to my Thunderbird program? Suggestions?

Since update to ver 128.1.0esr the "new subfolder" feature does not work (does not show window to name new folder). I have many subfolders and I rely on them heavily. I tried restarting Thunderbird, then Windows. I ran in debug mode with no success. I downloaded and installed 128.2.0esr again. No change.

Is it possible to go back to the earlier version? Which is? Thanks, Frederick

How do I revert back to a prior version of Thunderbird? The latest update has a great user interface but it has wrecked a few things for me. Thunderbird automatically updated to v128 earlier this week after I went to Help - About Thunderbird to check that it had updated to v115.14.

Everything seemed okay immediately after the update, but when I started Thunderbird the next day it was very unresponsive. Checking the Activity Manager showed that Thunderbird was indexing messages, but that this was happening very slowly. I let Thunderbird do its thing that day in the hope that things would settle down.

The next day when I started Thunderbird things were still bad. I tried Rebuilding the Global Database but when I restarted Thunderbird it was just as bad, if not worse.

I then turned off indexing in the Thunderbird settings and Thunderbird is now responsive and back to normal.

Is anyone else seeing anything like this? Any suggestions to fix the problem?

I am a long time Thunderbird user so my profile is very large with a lot of accounts, and has been through a lot of Thunderbird versions, so it is potentially more complicated than normal.

Thunderbird version is currently 128.1.0esr (32-bit).

Thanks

TBird 128.1.0esr (64-bit) and Windows 11

Using Tbird with an imap server and gmail email, calendar and contacts.

Not having any problems with email or the calendar but contacts do not seem to be synching. I have only just noticed this and it appears to be since the Nebula 128 update

I tried Add CardDAV Address book but I get the following the "All address books for the specified account have already been added" message. (Screen capture attached.)

I have seen some responses that imply it should all be automatic. What am I missing?

Thanks all
