thunderbird delete folders at will and randomly. folder remains at source but because thunderbird thinks it is still there it will not download folder again without making a change to folder name

Hi Would it be possible to add a feature where, when sending an email, I can set an "Awaiting Reply" reminder? The idea is that if I don't get a reply by a certain date/time, a reminder pops up so I can follow up with the person.

Running W10 on PC, no problems on other programs, on TB for at least 10 yrs. For past week TB has taken up to 15 seconds to delete or send some messages (not all). I thought this might be 3,500 messages in Sent folder so deleted oldest half of these. No difference, then I noticed that TB has deleted all my sent messages since May this year. Now it won't put my sent messages into the sent folder, they just disappear, and TB still delays on deleting or sending. Have tried repair button on inbox and sentbox, no difference. My wife remains on 115.14.0 without problems (so far!) I have just seen that v.128 has self-installed, could this be the problem?

1) I get an email from (email@x) asking me to send information to (email address) 2) So I send an email to (email@x). I save this in Thunderbird 3) I then get a new message from (email@x) which asks me again to send the information in my previous email. This means they probably didn't receive the email sent in 2) or they didn't read it. 4) I click on reply to their message received in 3). I then want to attach the email which I sent previously in 2).

I cannot click on attach and select the email sent in 2) (which is saved in Thunderbird). I can of course click on the email sent in 2) and forward as an attachment, but I want it to be an attachment to the reply in 4) not a new email.

How should I proceed?

I have moved from Mailbird to Thunderbird, a pat on my back I am really satisfied. I use POP3 so all my emails are downloaded to my computer. I keep two years of incoming and sent emails in Local Folders as follows: email account 1 year 2023 > Folders and subfolders organized per topic year 2022 > Folders and subfolders organized per topic The same for three other accounts. These occupy a lot of disk space, so I want to archive each email account with its folders and subfolders and move them to an external drive. Is this possible with Thunderbird? I have just received an email that contains the email addresses for all members of an organization I belong to in the to address. Is there an easy way to get all of these addresses copied to a mailing list in my address book?

I recently upgraded to Thunderbird 128, and now I have very strange things happen when I filter messages. After I type one or two or sometimes three characters into the Filter field Thunderbird freezes. If I continue typing the additional characters don't appear in Filter, nothing happens in filtering, and my mouse cursor disappears when it is in the Thunderbird window (it appears normally if outside the window). After several seconds everything starts working OK, and my messages get filtered.

So, in the end I can filter messages, but this freezing is frustrating and a waste of time.

Regarding thunderbird in your new version 128.1.0 esr 64 bites. In fast filter for search messages. The mail block and stop working for 1 to 5 minutes. Please check and resolve the problem. Thank you in advance !

I recently came across the Thunderbird versions are being mentioned as "esr".

In 115.0 version, I see "esr" is added from the 115.10.2esr to 115.14.0esr, the latest version. I also do not see any change in the installers provided. I would like to understand what is the difference between the previous versions and the versions with "esr"?

In 128.0 version, I can see only 128.0.1esr and 128.1.0esr. Is there no normal updates? Now only esr is supproted?

I had version 115.0 installed but I was able to upgrade to 128.1.0esr without any issue. Is this supported?

I've had problems with the new version of TB since it was launched. When I try to fill out an email recipient it takes 30 seconds to a minute to locate the person. When I go to my calendar it shows as empty until I reboot TB.

I would like to start again on a new profile, but I have a huge legacy of emails and calendar entries going back to 2008. So I would like to port those parts only and leave the rest behind. How do I do this?

Weird Data Corruption. Subject in Preview mismatches with Actual Content of the Message.

The mismatch was not due to cache or refresh because it persisted through Thunderbird restarts and also moving the message across folders.

Thunderbird Version Number: 128.1.0esr (64-bit) (on Linux Mint Wilma)

I have two o365 accounts from different companies. One of them works fine the other I get "user authenticated but not connected" I turned off ipv6 globally and specifically for outlook.office.com and tried relogging even revoked the app and allowed it again. Sending emails somehow works but it keeps loading even after the email is received. I'm on Linux tried both native and flatpak app. These account also work just fine through davmail. The irony is that the account which doesn't work recommends Linux users to use thunderbird that's what promoted me to switch to it instead of davmail.

I deleted a work account (hosted on google) and I keep getting pop-ups from Oauth to authenticate it. Looking at the troubleshooting information while it is not in the mail and news accounts list it does show up as an account.

Also, looking at the profile directories I seem to also see possible accounts that were deleted a long time ago but still straggling around.

How can I resolve this?

This is about Thunderbird. I'm using version 115.12.1 (64-bit). When composing or forwarding an email, I can't see the subject after typing it in and moving the cursor to another field. If I move my cursor back to the subject field, the subject becomes visible again. Is this the way it is intended to work?

Why every time i run thunderbird and if i leave it open too often it bring me the error message for all hotmail/outlook mail accounts i have???

What the heck is happening and how i can solve this?

I couldn't stop the 'need password' popups so I decided to uninstall my Hotmail account from Thunderbird and reinstall it. Unfortunately I am unable to reinstall it. When I try I get a message that the incoming server exists. I go into the advanced configuration and all ports are correct and Oauth2 authorization is selected. I changed to normal password and got the same error message. I checked and there was no outlook server under passwords on output server.

Next I opened a new outlook email and tried again. Now I get the error message 'could not get issuer for oathe authentication". I changed the authorization to normal password and got the error message 'Unable to log in at the server. Probable wrong configuration, username or password. I am sure that I am using the correct username and password.
