This again!

This was resolved about a year ago; now the problem is back, as of updating to Firefox 113.0.1 this evening.

Initially post-update the close tab button was in a weird, random place on the tab bar. I have adjusted the margins to put the button back where it's supposed to be!

I changed :

.tabbrowser-tab .tab-close-button {
  opacity: 0;
  margin-left: -4.5px !important;
  margin-right: 2px !important;
}

to:

.tabbrowser-tab .tab-close-button {
  opacity: 0;
  margin-left: -4.5px !important;
  margin-right: 35px !important;
}

to move the button back onto the left. That may seem like a drastic change but that's the lowest value I could find which produced the result I want.

However, it's not quite the result I want! As of updating to 113.0.1, the tab title itself now disappears altogether on hover.

I have tried to correct this in CSS using the .tab-text and .tab-label attributes, but without any luck so far.

Can anybody help me with this, before I'm forced to downgrade to Firefox 112?

Better yet... how about we just make this an option in Settings, as it should be?!

Firefox is using a massive amount of ram for an unspecified task, simply defined as "GPU" is the baked-in task manager. The attached image is after a fresh reboot, with Firefox consuming about 8 GB more than it reasonably should, with only three ish tabs loaded.

Can a Wildcard such as Dollar or the question mark be used to substitute a character or a number of characters while searching the FF password manager? When FF (113.0.1) is maximized clicking on the first (left hand) pinned tab does not open the tab. Hovering over the tab doesn't change the background color of the tab.

If I restore down the window, hovering over the tab changes the background color of the tab from light grey to a slightly darker grey and clicking the tab opens it.

I tried to change the download folder for Firefox inside "settings", and Firefox showed that the change did take, even after opening and closing the program again, but trying to download a file leaves me in the old folder again, as if Firefox didn't take what it showed it took. Also, Firefox keeps crashing when I try to download to the downloads folder. Not sure why. Clearing a few items lets me download again, but then, it will crash if I dare keep going. Is there a limit to how much can be in the downloads folder aside from the C drive itself? My C drive is showing 84GB free, in the blue, not red, so what gives?

When I attempt to log in to Ontario Gaming Corp I am continually advised I am not eligible because I do not live in Ontario. This is BS - I have been living in Ontario since 1953! Please determine the cause and get this fixed.

I have always found the "Save Image As..." menu command when right-clicking with the mouse in order to save an image. Recently the website where I download these images from has implemented an automatic zoom feature that changed this standard menu (now appearing with commands such as "Save Page As...", "Save Page to Pocket", "Select All", etc...). I cannot access any command that directly relates to the underlying image and so I am not able to save it. The website developers assured me that with their own browser (not Firefox, I presume) the "Save Image As..." option is still available, suggesting me to install a different one. I believe the reason of this change in behaviour is because the mouse does not find a direct link to the image any more (as if there was a layer in between running a script to enlarge the image).

My question: is there any other way to access the menu option I need? Why should other browsers be able to "see through" the image and have the standard menu?

Hello guys, so my Computer crashed and was stuck in a bootloop and I needed to hard reset it. Now my Firefox passwords,bookmarks etc are gone. How can I recover them, they are very important?

I don't know if breakage is the correct topic. I keep Ring.com open to the dashboard in a pinned tab. A few days ago, I had viewed and cleared videos as usual and later returned to view new activity. The site requires logging in every 30 days and so seeing that I needed to do so was not a surprise. What was a surprise was that the login buttons were grayed out. I closed the tab, cleared the Ring cookies and cache and tried again. No luck. I wondered if there was some other setting that I didn't know about and decided to open a private window and try it there. To my surprise, it works. I'm stumped. I'll attach the raw data from the private window as a .txt file. Darn. I can only attach an image. Well, I have it available and can copy and paste it into a subsequent post if you think it would help

Etrade website, and that website only, loads normally but then freezes. Other sites are fine and Etrade works fine with Edge. Windows 11 latest update. I've tried clearing cache and cookies to no avail.

Since yesterday on Facebook I can't see the time a post was written like I always had and like it happensa for example on Chrome, does this is happening to others?

The first post on the Facebook page will always display the timestamp, none of the remaining posts display the timestamp. The space for the timestamp is there and hovering the mouse over it will show the date and time (so the information is on the page, just not displaying). It is the same on different Facebook pages and using different Facebook accounts. I have checked my settings. I have cleared my caches, history, etc. I have restarted my computer many times. I have operated Firefox in troubleshooting mode, with extensions and add-ons disabled. I have done an anti-virus sweep with Kaspersky. This issue does not occur when I open Facebook in Microsoft Edge browser. I think this may have started approximately May 18 2023.

The OS-wide feature for MacOS, text replacements does not work in Firefox. The replacements are great time-saving for me and for everyone who works with forms a lot.

This feature is the reason why I avoid using FF, my experience becomes very limited. Safari, Chrome and Opera all have this feature enabled.

Can this be enabled in FF?

Why am I getting this when I try to access their home page?

This is a weird issue that's been plaguing me for years. Only recently have I spotted the common factor.

On two Windows 10 computers, sometimes when I copy/paste a link in Firefox, my keyboard input language switches from Canadian Multilingual Standard to US English. On my desktop, I don't even have US English installed as an input method, yet it still switches to it. I've even made registry changes to specifically remove it, to no avail. Disabling the option to switch languages via keyboard shortcut also makes no difference.

This seems to happen completely randomly. I'll ctrl+c/ctrl+v a link and the language will change. Putting it back to CMD and ctrl+c/ctrl+v again and it won't change. The change only happens when I copy/paste a link from Firefox. Maybe one out of every 15-20 times on the large scale, but sometimes it will happen twice in a row, or not at all for a week.

Does anyone have any insight on this issue, or how I can fix it permanently? It's such a weird issue and it's infrequent enough, but every time it happens it feels like tripping in a full sprint. Very unpleasant.

Currently running 113.0.1 (64-bit), but again, this has been plaguing me for years. I first thought it was a Windows install issue, but it's happening on two different systems. Thanks in advance

What is the "Find in page" toolbar called?

The 113.0.1 update (sic) moved it to the bottom of my page. I want to search for a way to restore it back to the upper part of the page (probably using userChrome).

(Note: I was happy with my setup in 112.0.2)
