Yestterday I discovered I no longer have an archives folder in one of my accounts, It's the one I've saved subfolders of receipt emails and others I need. I've checked my web mail and they are still showing there. My other account on Thunderbird still has all folders. I've checked the settings and they are the same in both. When I go to 'subscribe' by right click there's no archive folder listed there. Checking the server settings local directory it only has the inbox as the pic I'll post. How can I get my archive folder and subfolders back? Please understand I'm 69 and not real well, and although I do a lot of simple tech stuff I'm not really up with this sort of thing! Hope someone can help please. 🙏

Thanks for your help

I'm a long time Thunderbird user and can usually find a solution to any problem. This one has got me stumped though.

After a recent upgrade my message pane lost the header with name, date, subject, attachement, etc. and now I have one that looks like the attached .

The other three machines I have Thunderbird on displays the message pane like I've always had, so don't understand how it could be different.

As with all my machines, I run Debian 12 bookworm

On this laptop there are no extensions in Thunderbird

I just set up Thunderbird Version 128.0.1esr on my Windows 11 desktop computer to replace the MS Outlook app. The wizard configured a POP3 TLS/OAuth2 profile for pop.gmail.com. I changed the default server configuration to leave messages on server unconditionally. I also set my inbox properties to "don't delete any messages". Nonetheless, my inbox at mail.google.com and android gmail app inbox are wiped out immediately as soon as Thunderbird retrieves the messages. The emails remain in the Thunderbird inbox but are not visible on the server. I've tried all combinations of message retention options and Thunderbird seems to ignore them and delete messages from the server inbox as soon as it retrieves them. Any ideas? I want to store my messages on my desktop but I need mobile access to my inbox when I'm away from my desktop.

Yahoo is taking over Frontier email and we are supposed to use a third party app password generated by Yahoo to continue using Thunderbird. I have their generated password but it ways to "sign out" of Thunderbird and sign in again using that password, but I can't find how to sign out of Thunderbird to do that. Also, does this have to be done for every email in Thunderbird or just once for the app? Will any of my stored emails and folders be affected or lost? There are no clear explanations for Thunderbird in the Yahoo information.

We access AOL/Verizon account using Thunderbird. The other day, when we hit the Get Message button or a periodic check is done to look for new mail. We get the attached pop-up. It appears to be spoofing to be a an AOL page. We are no longer able to access our email. Has anyone else seen this problem and is there a fix? We are using the correct settings.

I got an email from Microsoft saying my Live.com or Outlook.com email accounts won't be supported in Thunderbird UNLESS I change the settings to OAuth2 in incoming and outgoing server settings.

I even REMOVED the email account and re-added it making sure it was OAuth2.

But for my live.com & outlook.com email accounts I continually get prompts for passwords from Thunderbird. Sometimes I can't even click the RED X at the upper right to shut the prompt down. I just happens over and over until I give it what it wants.

I am tempted to shut down all Microsoft email accounts and switch to Gmail.

I have Thunderbird version 115.12.2 (64-bit) I used Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.3810 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1020.0

Any idea how to stop these prompts?

I like Thunderbird much more than any other email program I have ever used, and would like to keep it

I recieved emails from Microsoft to update Authentication to Oauth as support for basic authentication will soon cease. Whilst I have not been experiencing any issues, after following the instructions, also provided here:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202,

I now have an unusable Thunderbird client.

This is because I am having to keep authenticating my outlook accounts (I have about ~100 email accounts). They pop up one after the other for each account.

I believe I went through all the troubleshooting steps but to no joy.

I did notice however, when the "Enter your credentials....." pop up box appears and I go through the motions of authenticating my account and TB against my Microsoft account, the following entry appears under the Settings > Saved Passwords > Saved Logins > "Provider" column for that account:

oauth://login.microsoftonline.com (https://outlook.office.com/IMAP.AccessAsUser.All https://outlook.office.com/POP.AccessAsUser.All https://outlook.office.com/SMTP.Send offline_access)

The credentials include a very long auto generated password starting similar to "M.C533_BAY.0.U.-........"

A couple of things to note now regarding the oauth entry:

1. It possibly does not always get created when re-authenticating 2. After quitting TB and then re-launching TB, it dissapears

So the solution would be to somehow ensure this entry is created and it sticks even after quitting TB, since for those accounts that include this I do not have get the "Enter your credentials....." pop up box.

Is this something TB can investigate?

I stored my profile at a custom location (windows) and then ported to the profile folder over to ubuntu linux,

when I start thunderbird with that profile directory though, I only restore basic information about the accounts, but none of the cached emails and also none of the passwords, I have to relogin which even prompts e.g. google to reask for 2fa.

So how do I port everything over, including cached messages and passwords so I don't need to relogin/redownload emails?

Dear Thunderbird, Since I'm a usual supporter (I donate each year $50 out of gratitude) and I've been using Thunderbird since many years, I'm surprised that suddenly I can no longer reach certain contacts. On the added images you can see the details of the returned e-mails. I've called those people and they seem quite certain from their side everything works just fine so it's from my side. I hope you can help me with this since this is a worry for me, it occupies me. Best regards Steve
