I am sick of having to delete you update popup it obstructs items that I use on my screen and and if I was silly to try to install an update it would end up telling me my O.S. was out of date. My choice of O.S. is none of your business and. updates are the plague of the internet and appear ad-nauseam. The need for frequent updates is an indication that the script kiddies who write the software are not as clever as they think they are It was once possible to go into the system and block update notifications and popups but you removed that possibility WHY?. I bought my first commercial computer before Gates and Jobs had been heard of. and the GUI and internet were day dreams. At the moment I am minded to remove Firefox and find another browser. You could start by telling your script kiddies to make their offering backward compatible! Yours withe the appropriate regards J.R

I'm running into an issue where FF just closes when internet connection is lost. It does not create a crash report. I use a VPN for work but this issue occurs with VPN on or off. I still get this issue in safe mode. Other browsers like Edge do not do this. Disconnecting from different networks still causes this. I can get this on the stable download of FF and the Nightly. I've done a fresh install where I deleted all FF folders in the appdata and Program Files directories. The crash can doesn't happen at a specific time, just while FF is running. I've already watched this issue with a resource monitor ope and there aren't any spike or anything of note during these times. I can reproduce this easily on my end. Can anyone help diagnose the issue?

My steps: 1. Open FF 2. Open the windows 10 network tab 3. Disconnect from current WiFi 4. wait ~10 seconds 5. FF will close (crash?) without any interaction needed

When Firefox is my chosen browser, I often follow a link in an email to a usual site, but get a message saying 'Network Protocol Error'. I've tried the instructions online; they don't work. If I copy the link address and paste it into a different browser, I have no problem at all... I'm at the point where I don't want to use Firefox! Can anyone help me please?

Tell me why version 129.0.1 is not allowing connection to "www.newsmax.com? This problem did not occur with previous versions.

I seem to have a problem with Firefox's builtin PDF viewer. Instead of black text on a white or gray background or something else sensible, I get black text floating over my desktop background in the part of the Firefox window that's showing a PDF. PDFs display fine in an external viewer, but that's just passing the buck, isn't it? Is there a way to fix this on Firefox?

I suspect hardware acceleration is the issue, but everything else seems fine, so I don't want to just blanket disable hardware acceleration. How can acceleration for PDFs alone be disabled?

here is the run down of this problem and how to fix it over and over and over its not really fix its a work around...

first things first Version 129.0.2 64bit problem is on both linux and windows 10/11 problem is the same on both having addons installed does not seems to matter as it seems this a problem with firefox it self and devs have bin ignoring it for a long time it seems

so what happens open a page open in new tab or just following a link (google or other search engine etc) page loads fully select text and right click to open context menu copy is greyed out and does not work work around switch tab and just switch back right click to open context menu copy it not greyed out anymore and can now be used

this happens at 100% rate works around always works but that is not a fix to this problem

ctrl+c works but context menu copy still show's greyed out

problems seems to happen even on a clean install of firefox windows or linux

and to test it even more i just reinstalled windows and arch linux on my laptop (it need a good clean up) so there was not last over date in appdata or program data on windows and the same on linux nothing was save there was no account logged in to sync data/settings

just to check if im not going insane here i installed chorme load the same page's copy on context menu always works

I need help with print. type settings on Firefox. When I print labels, the orientation is not right, and there are a couple of other things not working properly with printing. Firefox 129.0.2 (64-bits) Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (22631.4037)

I have the Dutch and English dictionary installed and both show up in the context menu. But at random, only the Dutch dictionary is checked and the English one not. The Spellchecker then only uses the Dutch and I have to manually enable English again. This is really at random. For example on YouTube: I write a comment and English is checked. But another time on YouTube, English suddenly is not checked and have to enable it again in the context menu. So not a huge deal but still remarkable.

Until today it worked fine. But now whenever I try to login to Xfinity I get You don't have permission to access "http://login.xfinity.com/login" on this server. It works fine on Chrome and Edge. I have disabled my add-ons. I have cleared cache, cookies, etc. I have rebooted. I have turned off firewall. I have checked my DNS. I have changed the DNS protection to OFF in Firefox. I have checked my proxy setting (I have no proxy). I have reinstalled Firefox. Etc. Etc. Nothing works. The fact that it works on Chrome and Edge, that it has worked everyday until today gets me confused. I also tried using my mobile phone as a hot spot to make sure it wasn't related to my Internet connection or IP address. Anyone have any ideas?

About two or three times a month the PC randomly freezes completely if a video is running in the actual Firefox browser (regardless of the site, regardless of whether it is in the active tab or in the background). First the image freezes, after about 10 seconds the sound freezes. Only a hard reset helps. The problem is observed both in actual Windows 11 and in Manjaro Linux. In games, rendering, stress tests and other PC works stably, does not freeze. How to solve this problem?

I need to uninsntall my present version of firefox and reinstall an upgraded version . i have a desktop frontier has ended their e-mail and therefore I no longer have the e-mail that everyone knows me by I have no e-mail except on my phone. My reachaable E-Mail is marcumgrover@gmail.com

I have the "Always ask you where to save files" check box checked in settings, but it still just automatically saves everything to my downloads folder and I keep having to then cut and paste the file where I want it. I also have "Ask whether to open or save files" checked. Any idea how to fix this, so it will ask me where to save downloads?

Having hundreds of opened tabs across many windows and 3 separate desktops , I can not find tab that suddenly become active. Particular Icon of active desktop icon and active window icon and list of tabs specific icon should be flashing to make easy to find transmitting/active Icon/tab in ‘Firefox’.

Before, when I would restart Firefox, windows (not tabs, those get restored fine) would be restored to whichever desktop they were previously on. So if I had 2 desktops and one Firefox window in each, on restart the windows would be assigned to their respective desktops. Now, however, both windows always get reassigned to the first desktop.

Am on win10 -- FF 118.0.2

A strange thing has just occurred in the past two days -- Firefox will no longer drag and drop URLs to form a shortcut on the desktop; I get only the international "can't do that" symbol, the circle with a slash, as I drag.

When I make a shortcut within firefox, then copy it and paste to the desktop, instead of the FF icon, I get the blank sheet, but when I look at the file with Notebook, it shows all the expected content:

I've googled for answers, but found nothing worthwhile. One suggestion was to shift the default browser to something else. I chose Google Chrome. Did no good. The shortcuts remained inactive. I could drag and drop from Chrome to the desktop but the shortcuts were still of a white sheet and inactive.

So, I'm suspecting something in Windows needs to be reset, but what? Can't find anything about where and how url shortcuts are treated in the registry. It's an annoyance. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, Could you add a simple feature for autoscrolling pdf files in the built-in viewer ? It would be a great help when playing sheet music, etc.

Just: start/stop (with hotkeys) and scroll speed setting. It exists for chrome: Tab Scroller - Guitar Tab Auto Scroll, but I would prefer to use firefox of course.
