For many years I've been getting my various podcasts by subscribing to the RSS feeds with Thunderbird. The podcast then appears as an attachment to a RSS item, which I can right-click and download.

Until a few weeks ago, possibly after I updated TB to 115.12.2 64bit:

RSS feed items no longer visibly have attachments. If they have a download link, I can right-clicking on it and Save As, but nothing happens and nothing is saved. If I left-click on it a player gadget opens and starts playing. I then have to right click on that and Save Audio.

Examle podcasts that are giving me trouble: https://feeds.acast.com/public/shows/0185cea5-9e3b-4b82-a887-26f91f92765f https://feeds.twit.tv/sn.xml http://risky.biz/rss.xml

Is there a config option I can set to restore the previous behaviour? I can't go on using TB for my podcsts as it is - it's too much of a pain.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I want Thunderbird to save my email passwords for both incoming and outgoing mail for several accounts (both POP3 and IMAP). I currently see no entries under "Saved Passwords". As far as I can tell, the only way to trigger password saving is at the point of creating a new account, by checking the "Remember password" box. However, that box remains gray and is unable to be checked. I'm running Thunderbird 115.13.0 (up-to-date) on Windows 11, and get the same results with/without Norton 360 or other similar utilities installed/running. All help will be much appreciated!

Thunderbird updated to 115.13 today and since then I can't receive mail from outlook.office365.com. (Could just be coincidence). Outgoing mail is OK.

Error Console gives:- 20:49:11.948 pop3.server2.7: SecurityError info: Pop3Client.sys.mjs:422:20

   _onError resource:///modules/Pop3Client.sys.mjs:422

20:52:21.344 pop3.server2.8: NetworkTimeoutError: a Network error occurred Pop3Client.sys.mjs:380:18

   _onError resource:///modules/Pop3Client.sys.mjs:380

I've tried removing the saved passwords and have also tried upgrading to 128.0.1.

I can log into webmail with the password OK, so I'm sure I'm using the correct credentials.

Server Settings are:-

account2 (pop3) outlook.office365.com:995 SSL/TLS OAuth2 smtp.office365.com:587 STARTTLS OAuth2 true

Hi, Developers have already been notified since the 1st day of TB 128 version release about the problem. The so much appraised calendar in version 115 does not fully function in v. 128. The same old history is repeated. Sth is fixed, then sth breaks or malfunction. We, as users of Thunderbird do not have now the possibility to control all events registered in the calendar. To do that we use other applications then delete the calendar in TB and create a new one. Do we deserve this? Why the new foundation keeps asking us to contribute economically when we never have a fully functional application? (see attached image of Bugzilla records for the calendar issue)

I am using Thunderbird Supernova and am pretty happy with it. However, I cannot figure out how to specify a different time zone than the system timezone when creating an event. For example, if I just bought a flight that departs at 4PM London time and I am in Miami when creating the event, how can I create this event without having to convert that time to my current time?

Surely this is possible but I can't figure out how. Thanks for any help!

I use Thunderbird 115.12.2 (64-bit) with Hotmail, using a local account on Windows 10. Microsoft is introducing 'modern authentication' on Hotmail, and I want to be ready for this, but I cannot follow the guidance at https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/modern-authentication-methods-now-needed-to-continue-syncing-outlook-email-in-non-microsoft-email-apps-c5d65390-9676-4763-b41f-d7986499a90d

If I try to alter my existing Thunderbird Account Settings for my Hotmail account, the authentication method for Outgoing Server (SMTP) is shown as Normal Password but there is no option to change it to OAuth2. If I delete and recreate my Hotmail account in Thunderbird, I get an error message from Microsoft saying that I cannot log in because my browser is not set to allow cookies -- even though I believe I have set both Thunderbird and Firefox (my default browser) to allow cookies.

I had growing problems ever since updating to Supernova. I updated again to 115.5.2 which didn't help. So I thought, right, start again. I uninstalled Thunderbird and installed 115.9.0. Now I have no folders in the folder pane and no messages. Please see screenshot. I have checked that Thunderbird is using the right profile. I have 1 IMAP email account and 23 POP3 accounts, 19Gb of messages going back many years, all saved for good reasons, mostly business. I can't see any of them, nor incoming messages. Thunderbird had been working perfectly for years under Mac OSX 10.13.6 (High Sierra) until this morning. Now attempts to start it result in an error message "You can't use this version of the application 'Thunderbird_78_10_0.app' with this version of MacOS. You have MacOS 10.13.6. The application requires MacOS 10.15 or later." The app shows a modified date of July 12, 2024, i.e., this morning and a size of 434.7MB. Perhaps it auto updated itself without checking that the update was compatible with the environment? Any suggestions about how to reverse that update or otherwise fix the problem would be appreciated!!! Garth Fletcher

Outlook sent me an email on 3rd July stating "Update your sign-in technology before September 16th, 2024 to maintain email access."

As of today, 23rd July 2024, I am unable to access my Outlook email account through Thunderbird as it repeatedly asks me for a new password. Is there any way to resolve this and continue receiving my Outlook. com emails through Thunderbird?.

I do not want to access my emails through the Outlook app.

Version of Thunderbird I am using is 115.13.0 (64-bit), on an M1 Macbook Pro running Mac OS Sonoma 14.5.

Thanks for your assistance.

I'm relatively new to TB. In Windows Live Mail, I could write a message and hit send, which then put it in the outbox. Then, but only then, I could either manually send the message (send and receive) or have the program do so automatically every x minutes. In TB, when I hit send, it simply sends the message. Is there a way to store messages in the outbox until I'm ready for them to be sent? Do I need to go offline and then back online to do that? If so, I assume that means that when I'm offline, I can't receive any messages. If there are messages in the outbox and I go online, do they get sent when I hit "get messages?"
