I want to restore a Local Folder to a newly installed Thunderbird. I have a complete copy of the Local Folder and want to copy it into the Mail directory (as it was previously). I then want to have it included in the programs index. Will this approach work if I re index the entire program which should pick up these messages and then display them under the categories that are spelled out for the Local Folder? Any help would be appreciated ... Robert

Every time I restart Thunderbird it looses my tab settings, I use many open tabs one for each email accounts inbox and then a few more, after a restart, I am force to close all except the first and the calendar and chats which are fine, and then manually open them all again, this needs fixing

On Outlook.com, my login ID is 'dsmasterson@gmail.com'. When I try to connect the email for this Outlook.com account to Thunderbird, Thunderbird asks for an email address and password. My problem is that Thunderbird will assume this is my GMail account and try connecting up the email from GMail.

How can I tell Thunderbird that this is my login ID and not my email address?

Over the past few weeks my emails are constantly freezing up when I open Thunderbird. It hangs up and I have to close the program and then restart, sometimes having to do this several times. It will then be normal for a short while, and start doing it again. I am running Windows 7 on my PC, I have the latest Thunderbird downloaded up until two weeks ago I never had this issue. I have not installed any new software either. I did think maybe it was CCleaner or Advanced Systemcare so I uninstalled those two programs yet the problem is still ongoing. Its quite frustrating and I can't figure out why its happening or what a potential fix for it. Thank you to those who respond.

Should I continue with the above version or somehow install the 128 non-beta version? I've been on the Beta channel for years but some have said it's risky. Your opinion, and if you think I should switch, how do I do it?

I just had to reset my laptop and reinstall Thunderbird (TB). I saved the old profile and now I want to combine the old and new profile on my reinstalled TB. Will my old calendar be moved?

With the new 128 version, in the In box, when you right click on the new email title and the drop box opens up, why does it say "move to trash again." shouldn't it just say "move to trash"? thanks

I seem to have lost the search bar that allowed me to find certain emails in specific folders. I am now left with the one that searches all my email folders. Why? How do I get it back?

Hello, I'm Christian. I am still facing issues changing my Thunderbird into an IMAP account, for following reasons: -exporting the existing is OK -creating the IMAP account is OK -Reimporting the messages from previous POP3 account difficult, because: -when using the import fonction, a local folder is being created with a directory three that looks liked the previous Dir structure I had previously. But transfering the folder and files proves difficult, the copy/paste function does not work properly so I can't just click and drag. My thunderbird folder is approx. 20g, could that be the reason? Furthermore, I cannot delete the previous POP3 account or the local folders. Any idea why? I actually do have a thunderbird account (POP3) comprises of 4 differents email addresses, I can delete 3, but not the last one as it appears to be the default one. Dear Support Team, why is Thunderbird asking for new password inputs although the current passwords are managed by Thunderbird? Is there anything that I can do to convince Thunderbird not to ask now and then for a new password? Appreciate your support Best regards, Erwin Manegold

Updating address: Mine will take NO new contacts, NO new groups, and NO new additions to groups already there. I do have the latest Thunderbird.

my personal e-mail is @msn.com; been using it with Thunderbird for years, but lately it asks continually for my password and tells me login (imap/outlook) has failed. It's been getting more frequent and today after multiple attempts, and restarting my computer it still didn't work. I am able to use my password to sign into my msn.com account and see the e-mails using the mozilla browser (or chrome) but can't sign on at Thunderbird. I have another e-mail address in Thunderbird (at my own domain) and there have been no issues with that address. However, if I am looking at my personal/msn e-mails, then go to the other inbox and return to the msn inbox I am usually asked (repeatedly) for the msn password and login fails. The problem started a couple of weeks ago and has grown progressively worse/more frequent. Any ideas on what happened/changed and what I can do?

Hallo, ich habe Windows 11 neu installiert, nun habe ich das Problem, das angeblich mein Mail Passwort nicht stimmt. Ich habe schon alles ausprobiert, die korrekten Passwörter von T-Online eingebeben, die Passwörter geändert, nichts hilft. Ich habe auch schon Thunderbird neu installiert, doch alles ohne Erfolg. Könntet ihr mir bitte weiterhelfen, das ich dieses wundervolle Programm wieder nutzen kann?
