Outgoing SMTP servers not available in from field

I've set up an SMTP relay with SendGrid and have added it to as an Outgoing SMTP server, but there's not password challenge and it does not appear in the from options whe… (lees meer)

I've set up an SMTP relay with SendGrid and have added it to as an Outgoing SMTP server, but there's not password challenge and it does not appear in the from options when I go to send an email. Is there any way to do this? I have three standard email accounts set up which all appear normally in both the SMTP selection menu and from dropdown.

Cox.com has decided to no longer have their own email server and switched their accounts to yahoo. I can read my email directly on Yahoo, but can't get their imap to work. I changed the imap and smtp settings to yahoo. Also, the email login has changed and I changed that in Thunderbird. With Cox, the login was just "username" and now it is "username@cox.net". When I made these changes in the account settings, my email account has disappeared from the inbox, but it is still in account settings. I am using a unified inbox with several accounts.

Cox will not help me with this, and I have been on hold with yahoo for an hour with no response. I have been messing with this for two days so I hope you can help me.

when I search for Quicktext Tutorials i see a nicely working application which allows me to manage text components and include them neatly in my writing. But what is actually showing after installation is a bit meager.

I can choose between "variables" and "other". ""Variables" is of no use at all, Other" simly allowes me to include a saved file in text or html from a folder. Well, thats a bit stoneage like, but I would have worked with that option, but:

Unfortunately, there is no way that Quicktext will save textsnippets as html or text. I definitely do not see myself copying parts of emails into notepad and saving them manually. That would be a very lame automation and definitely not quick enough ;). Also I am looking for the sort of "preview" Outlook is offering with Quick Parts.

Does anyone know anything about this problem or can recommend a better addon? I hate writing the same stuff again and again and again.

Whenever I hit send it requires me to type the password in. How can i get it to remember it? Ive been through the settings and there is no option to save.

Ive tried deleting my account and adding a new one but its no different.

I have several sub-folders connected to my "Inbox". How do I have specific incoming mail sent directly to the different sub-folders? I had no problem doing this prior to Thunderbird 115.1 taking over my previous edition. Tried following the instructions under Settings but it wasn't very helpful.

using Thunderbird for my workflow with mails and tasks, I wonder if it is possible to create a task automatically from a flagged email.

Of course, I know it is possible to convert mails to tasks, but first I would like to speed up the process and second, it would be great, if TB could also convert mails which were flagged on a different client, e.g. on my mobile phone: 1. mail is flagged on phone, 2. flag is sync on server, 3. TB creates tasks on this mail when synced with server

Alternatively/additionally, does anybody has experiences with using IMAP flags as trigger in automation scenarios e.g. in zapier, make.com or Power Automate?

It used to be that we would see - in the account tree - a number telling us how many emails we have available to read. As you would open an email, this number would automatically reduce.

Now, not only do we get this email count, but I am getting an email count of ALL the email in an account folders (Inbox, Sent, Received, etc.). I don't know who invented this, but I do not want it.

How can I go back to Thunderbird only showing me my unread emails available?

This last week one of my inboxes started to group my emails by Today, Last 7 days,Last 14 day and Older. I find no option to change that back to showing all the emails in date order like my other email accounts. The other posts on this topic that I can find are all for older versions that I don't see the commands for in my version.

I am using version 115.11.1 - 64 bit.

Hi is there an add-on or can the settings of Thunderbird be changed so that when an email notification on macos comes through, it shows the first few words of an email. This is helpful for receiving verification codes. You can know it just by a glance at the notification rather than open the email.

At the moment it shows the email from and subject but not the first few words of the email body (unlike iOS).

Sent folder is not showing in regular and unified listing

I have just moved several email accounts from Cox email to Yahoo and all is well for send/receive. I was setting up my unified folder and the SENT folder for the account… (lees meer)

I have just moved several email accounts from Cox email to Yahoo and all is well for send/receive. I was setting up my unified folder and the SENT folder for the accounts will not show up in the unified sent folder for any account. I am pretty sure it was there before the migration. It is selected to be in the unified and in the folder options I have the sent going to that email sent folder. It is not listed in the unified section or in the lower section under the email list..Suggestion?
