My question is:

HOW TO REMOVE: "This Website Does Not Supply Identity Information"

I hate this feature of Firefox. It seriously bites. It covers the Links ribbon, right where my Links folders are under the URL and it makes me wait 2 to 3 seconds each time i want to save a link.

This feature is probably the WORST feature that has ever been part of Firefox, and is completely USELESS considering that even Google websearches receive the annoying warning. For people who need to save a lot of site links for work — Firefox makes our jobs miserable!!

HOW TO STOP IT/GET RID OF IT??

Get rid of this feature, Mozilla!!

Plugins installed:

You can only do that by disabling all the tooltips, both on the user interface and on websites by setting the pref browser.chrome.toolbar_tips to false on the about:config page.
See browser.chrome.toolbar_tips (MozillaZine KB)

See also Prefswitch: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/6485

Just install this: http://www.germany.ru/wwwthreads/files/112-13262543-disable_id_tooltip.xpi
I wrote this to get rid the censored message.

Thanks for posting this answer, I also find it very annoying when trying to save a link.

There is no need to install extensions. Procedure:

1. open the preferences page with the link about:config

if the browser complains, click on the button to calm it :)

2. write: tips

3. in the list of prefs, find: browser.chrome.toolbar_tips

4. double click on it to change to false

5. tips disabled!

I have no idea what the previous post refers to - there is no preferences page in firefox!

If anyone has a solution, I'd be most grateful. This 'feature' is utterly retarded.

See How To Modify Hidden Preferences Using about:config (mozillaZine.org)

In the Location bar, type about:config, and press Enter/Return.
The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.

workaround until they fix it:
drag the favicon from the *tab* not from the address bar.

Good grief. Fjor said it clearly. Banano, if you'd actually READ his response, he said to go to preferences with the link "about:config". Think - if you can - for just a moment. Type about:config in the address bar. Hit enter. Then follow exactly what Fjor posted, and it works perfectly, without having to install or uninstall anything.

Fjor, Thank you so much. Been bugging me for a while and until now I've just ignored it.
