solved How do I kill the download completed notification?

Firefox version: 3.0.6 Operating system: Linux, Ubuntu 8.10

Every time I download a file, I get a popup window in the lower right corner of the screen to tell me that the download is complete. But it covers the Workplace Switcher that I need to access to use the downloaded file. So how do I kill the popup notification? Or shorten the time it's up? Or just move it?

I'm using Firefox 3.0.6 on Ubuntu 8.10

Thanks,
Ed

Extensions installed:

Adblock Plus, Cookie Safe, Fast Video Download, FlashBlock, MeasureIt, NoScript, Stealther

Set the pref browser.download.manager.showAlertOnComplete to false on the about:config page (open that page via the location bar like a web site).

That did the trick.

Many thanks,
Ed
