Prior versions of Firefox would show an hourglass when a link or button was clicked on, but now I get nothing. Is there an option to turn this on?

Removed from Firefox 3.5 - sorry, I don't know if that can be made to work.

This needs to be reimplemented. I find myself clicking links multiple times thinking that the first click(s) didn't work for some reason. The hourglass showed me that I indeed did click on the link and I'm just waiting on the remote site to respond.

Please put this back into firefox.

Yes, its been over a week since I upgraded to 3.5 and I still haven't become used to the no hourglass. I keep clicking on things twice thinking I must have "missed" the first time. :(

It would be good if this could be put back in.

I'd like to see the hourglass return, too—or at least having the option of turning it on. Not only does its absence cause the problems others have mentioned here, but it makes it truly difficult to figure out what's going on if you have the browser set to full-screen mode. In the normal mode, you can see an animation on the tab for the page that shows it is loading (if you look for it), but in full-screen mode, you see nothing at all, unless you move the mouse to expose the tabs and look at the tab.

It's a real problem and will surely generate a lot of redundant HTTP requests from Firefox browers, as people click again and again to make sure that their requests are in progress. It will be especially problematic for things like credit-card transactions, where people might be led to incur multiple charges by the absence of an hourglass. And on that path lies liability.

The absence of the hourglass when selecting a link (3.5) is a crucial omission; I am considering a DOWNGRADE to an earlier version of Firefox.

The hourglass did exactly what it meant to do, informing you what was going on while not having to move your focus.
Not having the hourglass anymore is really annoying and I am also considering a downgrade.. :(

Why remove this function??

Give us the hourglass back, please.

after a month of clicking 'not now' to the firefox upgrade prompt, i finally said 'what the hell' and clicked to upgrade. The absence of the hourglass seemed a mistake at first, what the heck? I'm downgrading now.

Agreed, I am ticked off too about the hourglass missing. This is called GUI feedback. My guess is Firefox is being developed for FiOS users and overlooking slow DSL and dialup users who don't have the benefit of instant latency. I too am probably going to downgrade. Why is this not being responded to?

@Tim: I'm on a 24/10 connection and I still need the hourglass. A good connection at home doesn't mean the site you're connecting to is equally fast.

Please add this back in, it is extremely annoying to not have it when you're used to seeing it in every other program out there.

Please put it back asap.

This is a dysfunctional change. It is absolutely essential on a slow connection to have some acknowledgement that you have clicked a link and are waiting (what the hourglass used to indicate). This is such a big problem that if it's not fixed in the next version I will switch browsers. It is a huge nuisance to have to watch the status bar to know if something is happening. Can't believe such an oversight could slip pass quality control...

Idefinitely agree with all of the posters above....bring back the hourglass please!!!

I just can't imagine why it was removed in the first place.

I have no hourglass when FF 3.5 is loadig itself, so I click it agin.....
It so slow loading the first time, I sometimes just quit and use IE

Same here; Been using Firefox 3.5 for two months now, and still haven't get used to it. This is a major, ANNOYING problem, I really hope someone will work on an extension or a way to bring it back.

Same here, it's so difficult to get used to it.
Looking at the tab to get the information is a real step back ! I wish I did not upgrade :(
Let's hope it will be brought back, at least through configuration.
