The contents of the en-US start pages are now complete and it's time to create a translated version of them! This announcement includes all you need to know as a locale leader to localize them. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to complete.
When clicking the translate link, select the language you want to translate to. Note: If you can't find your language in the drop-down list, that means there is already a translation of this page in your language. Scroll down to the list of existing translations, click your language, and then click edit this page instead.
For the new translation, change category from Staging Area to Administration
There are links to other articles in the pages. For example, we're linking to the Ask a question article using double parentheses:
((Ask a question))
It is not a requirement that the target pages are translated, but it would be nice if the link title is. The solution to that is to create a link that looks like this:
((Ask a question|Your translated title))
Please translate the list of outcommented strings at the top of the pages as well! They will be used in a future version of the page.
Don't translate content labels or div names, e.g.:
{DIV(id=promotebox-title)}New to Firefox?{DIV}
{DIV(id=promotebox-text)}These articles will get you started and browsing like a pro!
{DIV(id=promotebox-list)}
{DIV(id=>mostpopular)}
Please remove the top line reading "Translation in progress" when you're done.
If you have any questions, please ask here. Thanks!

(*) Note: because of theme issues, there is no edit link on the start pages for existing translations. That's why in order to edit an existing translation, you need to manually enter http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-editpage.php?page=Your+Translated+Page+Title in the Location Bar.
